I would say it was upon his ascension.

Hard to say - it could be "argued" when he stated this:

Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

But then he states:

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

It all depends what authority we are talking about.
God has all the authority

Jesus being God he always had the authority as God.
God can also as God give authority in him for different tasks.

As actual demonstrations of power and authority, Jesus really did very little while on Earth, compared to all the amazing things we read about God doing in the OT. In fact, He even said that He had to return (ascend) to Heaven before the Holy Spirit could come in His power.

Perhaps He had to be rewarded and crowned before the power within Him could be fully utilized?

Well G-d stepped out of heaven (while still doing His G-d stuff in heaven) took on the form equivalent to a man becoming a worm and became a humble servant. G-d never stops being G-d, He chose to set that aside, at any point He could have called 10,000 angels so yes He could have done His G-d thing at any point in time. Thank G-d for us.... all pun intended... He did not and saw the whole thing thru from beginning to end!!!

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Jesus said this in Matthew 28:18 and it is in past tense.....this was after his immersion and before his ascension in Acts.......

I would say at his resurrection.......IMV

I believe different, but fair enough, good argument... This is why I like this site... We can have "Christian" love for each other, teach each other, think differently on the small stuff, and at the end of the day be brothers and sisters in Messiah; because itis the doctrinal truths that we hold true that is pivotal for Salvation.

Jesus was always the Son of God before his birth and immersion.....He disrobed himself of the glory he had with the Father and took upon himself the form of a man (flesh)

At the immersion, which is the first act of obedience, Jesus was acknowledged by His Father for being obedient and identifying with his death, burial and resurrection through his immersion.

When Jesus said all power was given to Him in heaven, and earth,He is referring to His humanity, for as God He already has the authority, and Jesus is God and man.

The Bible says there is one God,and one mediator between God and men,the man Christ Jesus.

The man Christ Jesus is our Savior, for only a sinless man can reconcile the world unto God,but no man is sinless so God manifest Himself in flesh, and became that sinless man,and gave us His human body, which God laid down His life for us,and purchased the Church with His own blood.

God reconciled the world to Himself in Jesus Christ,God and man in harmony.

God's right hand represents power, wisdom, and salvation.

David said, the LORD said unto my Lord, sit at My right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.

The Bible says the Son must reign until all His enemies are conquered, then the Son shall submit to God,the Father, that God may be all in all.

The Bible says there is one throne in heaven, and one who sits on the throne, which is the throne of God and the Lamb,God in the glorified body of the man Christ Jesus.

Contrary to what some people believe the only person we will see in heaven is Jesus, which He told Philip,if you have seen Me you have seen the Father.

There is only one visible manifestation of God to the saints, and that is Jesus, who is the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Since the man Christ Jesus is our Savior,God exalted Him to exercise the throne of power,be at His right hand, until His enemies are conquered, and then the Son shall submit to God,the Father, cease exercising the throne of power, stop being at the right hand, for His mediator role in finished, that God may be all in all.

Jesus is God manifest in the flesh,so God is ruling through the man Christ Jesus,His own humanity, for the sake of the saints.

The Bible says there is only one throne in heaven, not two,and God and the Lamb share that one throne,God in the glorified body of the man Christ Jesus, and Jesus is the only visible manifestation to the saints.

The Son shall be at the right hand until His enemies are conquered, and that is the point He will no longer be at the right hand, when His enemies are conquered, for He is only at the right hand until His enemies are conquered, for He is the Savior, and must be in the mediator role, and rule, until that time, then He will no longer be at the right hand.

I should not say anything, but I will, for it is strange how people set themselves up as great teachers, and cannot understand what Jesus being at the right hand means.

They think He is sitting next to the Father, but why would He be,for if you have seen Jesus you have seen the Father.God does not need to show 2 visible manifestations of Himself, and if He did then the Spirit would have a manifestation too,but Jesus can represent God in a visible manifestation, and there does not need to be 2,or 3,manifestations of God.

Jesus at the right hand is a temporary role until His enemies are conquered, then He does not need to be in the mediator role, and at the right hand.

Was Jesus given authority before or after his baptism?
There was never a time when Jesus of Nazareth did not have Divine authority, since He was the God-Man within His mother's womb. He did not exercise His authority until He began His public ministry and the Holy Spirit came upon Him. It was by the power of the Holy Spirit that Christ did His miracles.

But that does not mean that His own authority as the Son of God was ever in question. Indeed He made it clear that no man was taking His life from Him. He was willingly and voluntarily laying down His life, and He would also take it up again by His own Divine power and authority (in conjunction with the Father and the Holy Spirit).

However, Christ's resurrection established Him as BOTH Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36) and it was after His resurrection and before His ascension that He proclaimed: All power [Greek exousia = authority] is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

This was a new *dimension* of His authority, since the Father has now given the Lord Jesus Christ absolute authority over all things and over all creatures. And that is why every knee shall bow to Him, of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth. It is Christ who will judge all men, Christians at the Judgment Seat of Christ and the lost at the Great White Throne.

This is also the reason why Christ cannot be referred to simply as "Jesus" but must be called by His full name and title -- the Lord Jesus Christ. Many preachers continue to refer to Him as simply "Jesus", but the epistles make it clear that whenever blessings are pronounced on Christians, they come from "God the [our] Father AND the Lord Jesus Christ" (Rom 1:7 and many other verses).
