I used to wonder if these verses were attainable, can we share verses and understanding on how we as women can be Godly......and men may advise also with the word.....Lord help us to be virtuous women God after your heart.....

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

[SUP]11 [/SUP]The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

[SUP]12 [/SUP]She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

[SUP]13 [/SUP]She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

[SUP]14 [/SUP]She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

[SUP]15 [/SUP]She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

[SUP]16 [/SUP]She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

[SUP]17 [/SUP]She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

[SUP]18 [/SUP]She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

[SUP]20 [/SUP]She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

[SUP]21 [/SUP]She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

[SUP]22 [/SUP]She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

[SUP]23 [/SUP]Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

[SUP]24 [/SUP]She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

[SUP]25 [/SUP]Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

[SUP]26 [/SUP]She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

[SUP]27 [/SUP]She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

[SUP]28 [/SUP]Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

[SUP]29 [/SUP]Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

[SUP]30 [/SUP]Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

[SUP]31 [/SUP]Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Thank you dear ones, we can do this as God is our help, and you men can be an encouragement to your sisters in Christ.....love in Christ Sherril...:)

What I have seen in my own life as a woman, wife, mom, and grandma, God has 1st place in my heart .....As God changes me, directing, leading, and teaching me through His heart by His Spirit and His word, its like things fall into place...in all ways...I think the proverbs 31 women we cant do in on our own, it has to be Gods work in us....for myself I desire to please God 1st...then my husband...to honor him also as head in our family, as I seek to love him with the love God gives me...Being a Godly women is a big task but nothing is to hard for our lord, as we submit to His perfect will....and live in His peace..Also I think of having a servants heart toward God and others, filled with compassion and love....the greatest of these is love...God is love....love through us dear Father as we do your will....love in Christ Sherril...:)

Verse 11...proverbs 31 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
[/SUP]

[SUP]
[SUP]EPH. 5:22 ... [/SUP]Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
[/SUP]

[SUP]
[SUP]23 [/SUP]For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
[/SUP]

[SUP]
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
[/SUP]

[SUP]Lady's when we are living life surrendered to God...we will be able to live these verses out....I know it could be hard if the husband is not living for the Lord or not taking His leadership position as God designed for him, it can be hard....one thing I have found for myself is lining up with Gods word, it works....... I have been the other way also in my life at times wanting to take the lead but I found it did not work and I was going against God and my husband....its like when your working and there is a boss to oversee things that has been placed in that position with the responsibility of things going in order it can be kind of like that in marriage....but yet even with my hubby and I we are a team we are 1 and we do honor each other....well for me this is part of how things fall into place in our home...love in Christ Sherril...:)

[SUP]proverbs 31:30 [/SUP]Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised....Dear women of God.....God tells us what's in the heart is more important then our outer shell, is our heart reflecting who we are in Christ?.........When we are young and beautiful on the outside, we may never think about what things will be like as we age. I was at times vain thinking I was all that, but my heart was not right, I was more concerned with being excepted by others then pleasing God...well now as I am submitting to God my heart, He is changing me as I am learning the ways of my God hoping to do and live His will....So when God tells us... a woman that fears the Lord shall be praised...that's where I desire to be in reverencing my God.....love in Christ Sherril...:) ps girls we are on this journey together may the Lord be glorified.....

Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, as Messiah also did love the assembly and gave Himself for it,"
I think we could look to all of the attributes of Yah/fruits of the Spirit, and thus should be applied in a similar manner towards our spouse.

Indeed who can find a virtuous women but who also can find a virtuous man? Both men and women should seek to be the image that these verses paint because that is after all the very image of Christ himself. In all things we are to be humble and wise slow to speak compassionate and loving understanding and willing to serve.
Love is the key to all of this, it is the one thing that we must seek above all other things because in love all other things are given.
The scripture posted may be speaking of a women but this is also an image that I myself seek to be not even just because the scriptures speak it but because I saw all of this in Jesus, and it is a journey that would be wise to travel regardless of your gender or age or what you have done in your life. A virtuous heart hungers for his own and in hungering for his heart he reveals much more of himself than what is normally given and slowly yet surely we are filled with his love as it doesn't simply come into us it changes us entirely it changes how we think and how perceive everything and slowly yet surely molds our hearts into his own.

So to travel the journey to become the virtuous women spoken of in these scriptures is also the journey to become the virtuous man and we all need to be encouraged to travel this path

I would offer first it is a parable set as a goal. The word proverb comes from the Hebrew word ..mashal.

(Strongs lexicon)04912 mashal {maw-shawl'} apparently from 04910 in some original sense of superiority in mental action; TWOT - 1258a; n m
AV - proverb 19, parable 18, byword 1, like 1; 39 proverb, parable 1a) proverb, proverbial saying, aphorism 1b) byword 1c) similitude, parable 1d) poem 1e) sentences of ethical wisdom, ethical maxims

Parables use the things seen the temporal to reveal the unseen eternal understanding .Hiding the spiritul meaning from the lost.

The woman as a bride in a spiritual sense represents the whole church as His bride as that seen .That description of the bride is in respect to the new creature ( male and female Jew and Gentile). The unseen husband is represented by man seen to represent Christ, the door or gate by which we enter into fellowship..

Pro 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

Woman have a different kind of role in respect to the whole in that way .The parable is twofold as it is used to represent the role of the whole church as the representative glory .It sets a goal of the woman individually to submit to Christ through their husband. and her husband ro,e giving something to submit to . Two mutually working together, as if they were one new creature... which we will be in the new heavens and earth..

Men need to become less transparent so the wife can find the gate and show her love that the husband should be drawing out of her . .Again two functions .One to represent Christ and his bride and the other on a human level the work of personally showing that through the submission to her husband as he summits to the father the mutual work glorifies God..

No perfect woman or man to represent Him and His wife the church not seen .

If only we could have had a picture of the virtuous woman's husband. It does not sound like he was controlling in any way, and probably nourished her with his love so that it brought out her virtues and capabilities. He allowed her to work (buying a field), and allowed her to spend money on rich clothing.

We do see that her husband trusted her completely, and must have had great qualities of his own since he was well known in the gates and was an elder.

What seems funny to me is that he "sat" around in the gates, and it looks like she did all the work at home. From buying a field, to planting it, to bringing in food from afar, all while she had to raise her children, sew their clothes and weave linen to sell. She brought in all the money? It tires me to even think of it.

Maybe I just don't want to be quite that virtuous.

(I do know it is a parable, just could not help but have some fun with it)

In respect to Christ our perfect husband . He is the door/gate by which we enter in. He is the temple we have in these bodies of death as him who has delivered us from death to eternal life.

Mat 21:23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

His bride is given His confidence as he works in her to both will and do His good pleasure making her (the whole Church as a new creation ) virtuous as a living goal .

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

{Men} are you a Husband.....Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;....single man are you ready to fill those shoes as being a husband that loves his wife even like Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it....sound like a big order to fill but with God all things are possible
(Real Men of God) are God fearing in awe of God all that He is....loving God as He has 1st place in your hearts.....:)......

Nothing like letting your husband take the lead when he is abusive. Just submit more!

Do you know that women have died because of these instructions? Just try harder, pray more!

Seriously, Proverbs 31 woman is a proverb, not a model, and not a real woman. I preached on this once, because, despite my sarcasm, I do think it is a beautiful part of Scripture. But one of the commentaries I read added up the possible hours it would have taken to do all she did, and she would have needed two more hours in her day, and not slept.

So what is the point of the parable?

"Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting,
but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised." Prov. 31:20

It really has nothing to do with the roles of women, as wives, mothers, workers, or anything else. It has to do with the fact that a truly virtuous woman will fear the Lord, same as a man!

"Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who greatly delights in his commandments!" Psalm 112:1

Or for that matter, the whole earth should fear the Lord!

"Let the whole earth fear the Lord!
Let all who live in the world stand in awe of him!" Psalm 33:8

I seriously worry when people put Prov. 31 together with being a good wife, when it is all about how we are to serve God! Because, I have just counselled too many women who have been trapped by domestic violence, who have been told to be a better Christian, and their abusive husband will come around. It just doesn't work that way!
