Which is not such a good idea in view of these Scriptures.

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. (Mt 6:1).

But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. (Mt 6:17,18)

Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

"That they may see" is not the same as "that you may talk about" your good works.

that would be more like letting your works speak for themselves.

Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Some people profess to have faith, but have not good works to back that said faith up, and some do.
What good works have you done that shows you have this God kind of faith?
What good work(s) have you done that proves you are a child of God?
The bible says that signs will follow them that believe, and that there will be tares AMONG the wheat, IN the church, so what specific signs followed you that says, you are the wheat and not the tare?
Specifically, what works are required and how much works to prove one has true faith?

John 6:29 NASBS
[29] Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent."

Ha ha ha looks like know1 dodged the question anyway..   Always the way with works salvation preachers.. They love condemning others over works but when you put them on the spot about their own works they dodge..
Sir, I don't need to dodge the question, as you suppose me to be doing, which is what you are doing right now.
First off, I don't teach works for salvation. I teach faith with a corresponding work of faith [singular] for salvation. There's a difference. Once a person is born again, there is no work one can do to make themselves any more a child of God than they already are. I do not propagate works to maintain salvation or to get to heaven.
And second, how can you say I'm condemning others while you are condemning me?
What I am trying to find out from the teaching of others, concerning the interpretation James 2, is what good works prove they have true faith and shows they are born again.
This is not my interpretation, but those who believe as you do. I just want to know what specific works they are.
It's written in the bible, so what good works is the bible talking about that others claim to have that proves this so called true faith?

"That they may see" is not the same as "that you may talk about" your good works.
So the only kind of good works you would be able to testify or talk about, is the kind that would exalt you and not give any glory to God?
So God wants you to SHOW it to others, but not TELL it to others. Really?
If God wants you to show your good works to others, that it might glorify the Father, then why wouldn't you want to tell other about the same kind of works, seeing it would only glorify the Father. Unless your works are not the kind Jesus was talking about that would glorify God.
What kind of work can we do that would both be considered true faith and glorify God at the same time?
What light or good works does God want others to see, that it might glorify God?

Specifically, what works are required and how much works to prove one has true faith?

John 6:29 NASBS
[29] Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent."
That would be everybody then, because everybody says they believe in Jesus.
The bible says the tares are among the wheat. If they look, walk, talk, and act like a child of God, how will you be able to tell them apart from the true children?

2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

And how does one show this belief in Jesus that others may see this light/good works and glorify God?

So basically, your example of the kind of works that prove you have true faith is believing that God leads you through the day.
Do I have that right?
Is this one of the good works Jesus was referring to that He wants you to show others?

Only the works that Jesus does through me through the Holy Spirit's empowerment prove my faith; and I can't take any credit for them.

Don't some unbelievers do the same?
How does helping the poor qualify as a good work of faith?
How does that prove you are born again and have true faith, when the some unbelievers do the same?
Jesus say only if a branch abide to the vine will produce fruit. Unbeliever may help the poor, but it not base on pure love. It can be for fame.

In john 15 Jesus say, if a branch not abide to the vine, impossible to bear fruit, and the fruit of Holy Spirit is love. Jesus never lie.

In the contrary, if a man declare love God and not love his fellow man, he is a liar

Are you able to give me a personal example of what James is talking about when he says, "I will shew thee my faith by my works"?
I will give you one personal example if you can give me a legitimate one.
Something other than, 'I believe in the lord Jesus' as a good work.
That would determine just who is doing the dodging, wouldn't you say?

When we reveal ourselves and the works we do, when we pray on street corners, when we give alms sounding the trumpet ahead of us, we have our reward for we do it for the sake of man in the sight of man.

We should all practice our piety in the sight of our Heavenly Father only so that when He sees us in private, He rewards us openly for all to see.

I regard the title of this op alone as provoking, provacative to illiciting false pride. You tell me. God bles syou always.

Then what good work was James 2:18 talking about, that James was willing to show to prove he had the "true faith"?
James certainly didn't have a problem boasting about his faith and was willing to show it. What was it he was willing to show to others? It had to be something, but what?

I dont believe he was boasting but rather rightly stating that true faith has righteous works or its not true faith. the exclamations points are added by the translators.

What is that light and more importantly the good works that Jesus wanted us to show other that it might bring glory to God?

Regardless of whether he was boasting or stating, what were the works he was willing to show that would not have been a sin or bringing glory to himself but to God?
