This isn't scripture exactly but it's something I have been thinking about lately, in psalm 84:10 there is one part in it that is well known Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere even songs have been from this one verse and for the past few days I have been thinking upon this. When one thinks of his his courts it's easy to think of his dwelling place his kingdom or heaven itself but you know I have spent entire days just being with him and compared to a normal day when I am going about my own business and not resting in his presence I can certainly understand this verse.

Just one day of enjoying him and being with and talking with him fills me with such bliss joy peace and fulfillment it is literally like water for my parched soul, so what if his courts and his house isn't a physical place on the other side but rather that place where you and him meet and simply enjoy each other?

His Holiness, Gods splendor ....Even Jesus friend Mary she sat at Jesus feet, listening and being in His presence....2 Chronicles 5:13-14 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord;[SUP]14 [/SUP]So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.................The presence of our Lord is beautiful, powerful and purifying as we rest in His holiness....overtaken by His love......All Mighty God being in awe of who He is.......love in Christ Sherril....

Yes, His courts is simply His presence. Isn't God Wonderful? I don’t know how people can live without Him.

Me too!

Elsewhere God is described as sitting on his throne and being surrounded by heavenly beings and angels, so perhaps it can be both: his presence here because we can't be there, and his throne room there. I also like to think that the writer of the verse was comparing what one day in heaven is going to be like compared to a thousand here....that we have unspeakable joy in God's Holy presence to look forward to one day. It makes all else fade away by comparison, especially as the rest of the verses that follow.

[h=1]Psalm 84:10New King James Version (NKJV)[/h]10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. (NKJ)

Occasionally I get a sense of Gods ways.

I see through history and peoples lives Him moving and encouraging, causing one incident
after another, and love taking root and spreading.

He takes delight not in the grandious, but in the one or two conversations that change lives.
The woman at the well.
The woman who had faith to reach out and touch Jesus.
The thief on the cross.
Nicodemus and meeting at night.

We get so often wrong what is important and what is not.
Dwelling with Him and in His word is the most important.
