Between the Teaching from Prince is a subtle you don’t have to Keep His Commandments to be Blessed by Him..

the child should do what his parents ask they know best.

GOD Knows best always and forever.. if He says jump we jump. If He states not to eat fruit from that tree then we eat not.. no matter how many princes come along with a tempting feel good message.

Luke 11

27And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. 28But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Hi Joanie

Thank you for posting this. I never saw that before about the elder son serving his father. I can see too it's a picture of Israel, the nation, versus Israel of the Spirit.

To be under the law is serving God. No intimacy. Jesus is the head of the house of God...the body. And we His members. So what we have is Jesus who freed us from serving to be one with Him as He moves (leads).

Holy Spirit told me that to believe God is what He desires. He doesn't lie. His words are truth, and they are life. Spiritual power resides in His Words as we speak them in faith. Not by our will, but by His.

Blessings to you Joanie. Love you.

Hi Stonesoffire., Blessings to you too sis. I never listened to any other preaching than what I was raised on so I never heard the story of the prodigal son in any other way than it was about the son. It's all about the Father imo. And yes., I agree with you., it sounds like Israel too.

There is so much about the love of God all through the Bible. I remember reading about Gomer and how she was such a mess and yet God used His prophet Hosea to show how much God loved Israel. I also saw it was how He loved me too. Hosea 2:14-17

[SUP]14 [/SUP]Therefore, behold, I will allure her [Israel] and bring her into the wilderness, and I will speak tenderly and to her heart.
[SUP]
15 [/SUP]There I will give her her vineyards and make the Valley of Achor [troubling] to be for her a door of hope and expectation. And she shall sing there and respond as in the days of her youth and as at the time when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
[SUP]
16 [/SUP]And it shall be in that day, says the Lord, that you will call Me Ishi [my Husband], and you shall no more call Me Baali [my Baal].
[SUP]
17 [/SUP]For I will take away the names of Baalim [the Baals] out of her mouth, and they shall no more be mentioned or seriously remembered by their name.

And the verses here in 19-20 are especially pertainant in how the Lord showed me how much He loved and cared for me personally. He has a good plan for our lives and seeks to see it fulfilled in and for us.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]And I will betroth you to Me forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy. [SUP]
20 [/SUP]I will even betroth you to Me in stability and in faithfulness, and you shall know (recognize, be acquainted with, appreciate, give heed to, and cherish) the Lord.

Well, you are free to see God the way you see Him and I am free to see Him the way I'm learning to see Him.
If you don't like these devotionals or believe in the manifold blessings that God has for us in Christ than you are free to avoid my posts. I see God as being a loving and benevolent gracious and loving Father who seeks to bring the sheep of His fold in so He can feed and secure us in Himself. I like the way Psalms 23 has taught me to see Jesus. It gives such a beautiful picture of our Good Shepherd.

[SUP]1 [/SUP]The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.
[SUP]
2 [/SUP]He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.
[SUP]
3 [/SUP]He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him—not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.
[SUP]
4 [/SUP]Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.
[SUP]
5 [/SUP]You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with [SUP][a][/SUP]oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.
[SUP]
6 [/SUP]Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.

Rather than about what the elder son has achieved as if by his own merit, I believe the parable is about two kinds of inheritance in the kingdom of Heaven; the celestial kind and the terrestrial kind.

The celestial one is where the elect are chosen to attend the Marriage Supper for abiding in His words as His disciples. They are raptured to have that place in the city of God; in our Father's House where there are many mansions. John 14:1-3 The celestial one where the elder son is always with the Father & all that is His was his as well.

The prodigal son is the one that gave up his inheritance ( the celestial one ) for wild living and was left behind; disqualified from attending the Marriage Supper and thus a castaway to be received later on as a vessel unto dishonor in His House.

The difference between the elder son and the prodigal son is that the prodigal son is not always with the Father; hence no place to call Home in the city of God, but they will have the name of their God on their forehead as well as the name of the city of God when they serve the King of kings out in the world in raising up the generations coming out of the millennium reign of Christ.

The prodigal son can never get that inheritance back, but he is still son. This is where and how the vessels unto dishonor in His House comes from as they as the prodigal son will testify to the power of God in salvation for all those that believe in His name. That is why those who break ONE OF THE LEAST OF HIS COMMANDMENTS AND TEACH OTHERS SO are called least in the kingdom of Heaven as they will have a glorified terrestrial inheritance where they are more human than celestial, but as they are physical, the second death has no power over them; those saints who come out of the great tribulation.

Whereas those that are have been made worthy and kept worthy by the Lord Jesus Christ, even those who repent seventy times seven....looking unto His mercy as they place their hope in Him to continually deliver them and keep them from their sins, will not marry nor given in marriage but be like the angels that never die.

But those of the terrestrial could die for the reason why the power of the second death has no sway over them, but on the generations coming out of the millennium reign, that power of the physical death and the second death will have sway over them when Satan has been released from the pit after a thousand years for a small season to lead some astray in staging a last rebellion against the Lord Jesus Christ at Jerusalem.

So the prodigal son aka the vessels unto dishonor will be celebrated in the House of the Lord and the elder sons that had obeyed His commandments by believing in Jesus Christ, not just as their Saviour that they are saved simply for believing in Him, but believing in Him as their Good Shepherd to help them to follow Him as His disciples in testifying of the Son in seeking His glory and by Him the glory of God the Father and none other.

That is what it means to believe the gospel as these two commandments is required for us to abide in following Him.

1 John 3:[SUP]22 [/SUP]And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.[SUP] 23 [/SUP]And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.[SUP] 24 [/SUP]And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

So all those commandments of the New Testament as under the New Covenant falls under to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd to help us to follow Him since we could not save ourselves and thus by grace thru faith in Him we are saved, then neither can we follow Him except by grace thru faith in Him as our Good Shepherd.

Luke 9:[SUP]22 [/SUP]Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.[SUP]23 [/SUP]And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

So obeying the gospel is believing in Him not just as our Saviour, but as our Good Shepherd that He will help us to follow Him by the grace of God as well.

Not every one will trust the Lord as their Good Shepherd nor look to Him for hope in His mercy to deliver them from their sins, but even if they err from the truth and stop believing in Him, He still abides in them which is why the call is given out to every believer and former believer that has His seal to depart from iniquity so that they may be received as vessels unto honor in His House to the Marriage Supper at the pre trib rapture event.

That's a lot to take in Enow. Because I'm someone who has learned to rely and the grace of God In Christ I can't agree with most of this post. We never get what we deserve. And the things we get are because of His love. From everything I'm discovering it's about how much do we trust and rely on Him vs believing we are going to get our due. It's about leaning on Jesus and trusting in Him as our benefactor who wants us to follow Him. In following Him we become like Him and fulfill our mission in life.

It's those who have failed in life that have learned that they can't win without Him. The battles we are in all through life will all be lost without Jesus being the Vine and us the branches. I think the denying of self is actually realizing that we are helpless in our flesh to do anything and to give up on our own abilities and totally lean on His.

I do not believe in the man made religious mindset that says God is trying to take away all that is lovely and good from us so we can suffer in boredom and mediocrity. No. Following Christ is anything but mediocre or boring.

He is always showing us the loveliest and best and most good and He seeks to give us those things. What we have to do is follow that way. But not many will follow because they can't believe in things they have not seen or thought of themselves. We are too used to getting what we deserve so we can't handle graciousness when it's offered.

I'm striving to put off that old manner of living that depends on the flesh for getting by in life.

This is about a choice. You can stay like the eldest son and be depleted as your name indicates. Or you can learn more about what the Father is about and be blessed and be all but depleted. It's up to you. If you want to pass on the learning that is up to you.

It's about how much He loves you and has given you in Christ. But if you don't want it., don't go for it. I went for it and have been abundantly blessed and have not stopped learning about what Jesus has done ever since. There is more to learn than when we first believed. There are promises that I've only just begun to know about. I have a lot of years to catch up on since choosing to not pass on learning more about my salvation and it's become my determined purpose to keep on learning about the power of His resurrection.

The Bible says in Philippians 3:10-11
[SUP]
10 [/SUP][For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [[SUP][a][/SUP]which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]
[SUP]
11 [/SUP]That if possible I may attain to the [[SUP][b][/SUP]spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body].

I'm working toward depleted actually. The more depleted I am, the more God is in control.

No., the eldest son was angry when his father loved the younger son so much that he forgave and reinstated the younger son. And not only that., the father gave the younger son honor when he deserved discipline and punishment. The elder son was angry at such mercy and grace. Why? Because the elder son didn't know his own father.

The elder son actually totally missed the heart of the father because the elder son was too set in his own opinions and his own ways of looking at life and others. Especially his father.
No one stays out of anger at the person they're staying for.

What you're saying is "I'm not dumb enough to be the youngest son or the oldest. I'm special."

What Jesus was saying was the Father never turns his back on his kids.

As stated before, "Me centered."

Mercy is NOT getting what we deserve and grace is getting what we do NOT deserve. Nothing in my post places any emphasis on the religious merit of the believer when that emphasis is in our faith in Jesus Christ in believing Him to be also our Good Shepherd to help us to follow Him where no man can boast except in the Lord.

And the things we get are because of His love. From everything I'm discovering it's about how much do we trust and rely on Him vs believing we are going to get our due. Yes... that is what Luke 9:23 is saying below...

Luke 9:
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

I do not believe in the man made religious mindset that says God is trying to take away all that is lovely and good from us so we can suffer in boredom and mediocrity. No. Following Christ is anything but mediocre or boring.

We are too used to getting what we deserve so we can't handle graciousness when it's offered.

I'm striving to put off that old manner of living that depends on the flesh for getting by in life.
There is a suffering that believers should be aware of and that is when they cease from sin.

1 Peter 4:1
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;[SUP] 2 [/SUP]That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

I need Him all the time to keep me from falling into sin as I trust Him to present me faultless to His glory. So there isn't anything for me to boast about except in the Lord as His mercy endureth forever which is why by His workmanship in me, I still hope in Him when the trials of this life and the waves of my storms takes my eyes off of Him as I trust Him to grab me as He did Peter when he was walking on the waters during the storm towards Him when he had lost sight of Him.

So I believe you and I are on the same page when it comes to following Jesus Christ by faith in Him as our Good Shepherd. We cannot follow Him without Him and His help. By the grace of God, we walk in Him.

I don't think depleted is an accurate picture Lynn. We are dead to sin and alive to God. Just reckon or agree with it daily. Its a "done" work by Jesus.

BEWARE OF FALSE TEACHERS AND FALSE PROPHETS. More false teaching from Joseph Prince

Like the little boy, do you see God as a Father who demands obedience and service from you?
Since the Bible clearly teaches that God our Father demands obedience and service from us, this question should never has been asked. Or the answer should have been "Indeed He does". So does Joseph Prince believe that Christians are not expected to obey God and serve Him, but they can do as they please?
Have you ever felt that unless you obey Him and keep all His commandments, you don’t have a right to be blessed by Him?
Now he has created a straw man, since we have received all SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS (including our eternal inheritance) purely by the grace of God and the finished work of Christ. So Prince has craftily juxtaposed two things which are not connected.

While we receive eternal life, and all the blessings which are in Christ Jesus because of what Christ has accomplished for us, that does not mean that God does not demand our obedience and service after we are saved.

When will we stop hearing from this false teacher?

It has become apparent to me that there is ALOT of teaching going around the church that is all about me or us. I have found that following after self is like a dog chasing after it's own tail.
Man, all I want to do is get focus off myself and on God and others.

My guess is Burgon, because he wrote a defense of the KJV and Nehemiah6 recommends it frequently :)

I won't even read your posts Nehemiah.
You are free to read and listen to preachers and teachers you like and so am I. GET OVER IT. You can't stop my joy in sharing.
Despite you and the others here who can't stand the devotionals I post., I'm still going to post them every so often because I believe in Jesus and His grace and truth.
I listen to preachers and teachers who present those truths the best.

I wish more people would post more interesting subjects than some of the ones I read here and have no interest in. I wish more people would post some of their preferred devotionals because it is a good way to get into the Word.

When we do Bible studies in the morning., we would do them using a devotional called "The Daily Bread" by radio Bible class. This opened up short and interesting topics and subjects about the faith that we discussed before leaving the house for the day and we were edified and built up to start our day out in the world. I have carried through on that habit all these years after. Using many different devotionals over the years.

It's simply my way as a Christian. So I will continue to do this here as it is my personal preference. I can't get enough of hearing about how much God loves us in Christ. It's music to my ears and joy to my soul.

Especially since Jesus held no confidence in mankind.

John 2:[SUP]24 [/SUP]But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,[SUP] 25 [/SUP]And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

So how can God demand obedience from that which He holds no trust in Mankind's ability to do?

So obeying the gospel is believing in Him for all things; not just for believing in Him or just even in His name to be saved but now reconciled to God thru Jesus Christ, we are to believe in Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd to help us to follow Him in living that reconciled relationship with God thru Jesus Christ.

Luke 9:[SUP]23 [/SUP]And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

The just shall live by faith in Jesus Christ & all His promises to us. That is the only way we can get to know Him and the power of His resurrection when we surrender from all our efforts and rest in Him that we are saved and that He will help us to follow Him which is something little children can do since all they can do is take Jesus at His word and trust Him.

I believe it is just cause to point out errors in teachers and pastors because Jesus Christ is to be our Good Shepherd and no one else. So we are to prove everything by Him by the scriptures since our leaders are targeted by the devil to lead many astray if they can. So it is not just our leaders that needs our prayers, but other brethrens as well.

I can make a mistake or an error ; any one can make an error or a mistake; so to think that no one can say one thing that we agree with and yet say something else the complete opposite of what we agree with, we need to point it out & correct it because somebody may err on the side of error and start moving away from their faith in Him to looking to themselves to do God's work in them or in others.

That is a doublemindedness that the Lord delivered me from keeping my commitment to follow Him as well as trying in vain to keep other promises that only God can keep to rest in Him and all His promises to me in getting to know Him & the power of His resurrection when I see myself following Him by faith in Him alone.

I sure need Him all the time for following Him.

It's interesting to me how differently we each see our relationship with Christ. I see Jesus as the only way to joy and fulfillment and peace in life. There is a daily draining that comes from the world the flesh and the devil.

The only way to be filled is by the Holy Spirit ministering Christ to us. The Bible says "be ye being filled" we need this filling daily. He always points to Jesus and His righteousness towards us. How He has transformed us into a new creation. How that is part of the good news of the Gospel. Jesus came and saved us from our selves and our sin. He took our place and now we are sealed by the Holy Spirit and daily filled as we are submitting to His leading.

His leading is not grievous as some would have us believe. , Nor is it a bunch of joyless tasks. The Holy Spirit's leading is joy and health and peace. He leads us to green pastures. He is our Healer and says He is the Lord that heals us. Even the brokenhearted. I hold to the promises of Jesus that says He heals alllll our sicknesses and alll our diseases. Of all our body and mind and spirit.

And yes., Jesus is also about prospering His people both spiritually and physically as He satisfies our longings and all our needs because we have them as humans. John reminds us in 3 John 2 I've discovered the truth of how when He heals my spirit., my body gets healed as well.

As Jesus is so are we in this world. We are daily being made over to be more like Jesus. And the Holy Spirit is our personal Guide., Teacher.., and Comforter to take us to these great and precious promises. Prospering is not the goal, but it is of of the many many blessings and by products of the first and foundational blessing of following Christ and learning to be like Him. Following Jesus always brings JOY and PEACE and never leaves us lacking. I have lacked for nothing since following Jesus.

[SUP]2 [/SUP]Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.

I see many Christians are so busy working and doing to try to BE righteous (when they already have been MADE righteous by the GIFT Jesus gave) They are spinning their wheels or chasing their tails like dogs as they try to establish their own righteousness. Religion teaches us we are servants before we are sons. The servant has to do.. but the sons WANT to do. The sons have a vested interest in their Father. They are joyful and happy to fulfill their purpose to be who they are...sons and daughters of the Most High God and Father. .

The servant is doing it out of duty and although servants loved their masters., they were still servants. The Bible says we are no longer to be called servants but heirs and joint heirs with Christ. We are sons and daughters of the most High. If you believe that is an "all about me" teaching than you are wrong. (if you are saying this)

I see some here are apposed to this type of association but not me because it's Biblical and right. I'm a daughter who wants to be about my Father's business just like Jesus was. And I've seen others who were examples for me who said the same thing., we are no longer servants but friends and sons. The relationship has totally changed now. We have a vested interest in our Father's business.

This is a very good thing and necessary to walk in the truth of who we are in Christ. If you see yourself as only a loved servant and not a beloved son., than you need to know the truth.

Romans 8:15 reminds us of the IMPORTANCE of knowing who we are now.

[SUP]15 [/SUP]For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!

And it is a blissful realization to know we have received the Spirit of adoption. I like the amplified version. We can now call God our Abba Father. He is our Daddy. He is not disgusted with us anymore. We are not as an unclean thing anymore because Jesus has made us whole and righteous in His sight.

How many Christians don't know this?? I hope to share this truth of sonship because it was shared with me and freed me from my wrong teachings of religious fear of my Heavenly Father.
