Matthew 1:1 "The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham."
romans 1:1-5 "Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God ,(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name"
referring back to things like this....
2 samuel 7"And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. ......16And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David."
psalm 132:11-12 "The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore."
you then later in the prophets see Heavenly things where this son of david is brought into the presence of God and gioven an eternal Kingdom as a further revelation of what is coming.
daniel 7: "I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed."
this is one example of prophecy , The Israelites all the tribes were waiting for the messiah. He was to be the seed of david, King eternal of Israel King of zion. the prophets also clearly foretold, when He came, He would call the gentiles into the fold as well as restore Israel through the Messiah. Knowing the Messiah was to be the seed of david, and the seed of abraham, because its abrahams chosen Line they are all seed of abraham from isaac to david to Jesus.
we then see at Jesus conception....
Luke 1:30-33 "And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. "
even at this point Jesus is called the Son of God, and david is called his father " son of man" is a reference to the messiah, to be born of davids Line and made King eternal and seated at Gods right Hand as was spoken to david. this is where the " Kingdom of God" comes from, its the eternal Kingdom promised to david, that His seed would be raised up to rule an eternal Kingdom at Gods right Hand God, flowing of Mercies and rich with forgiveness and restoration.
there is much Jesus says, but heres Peter explaining it more fully
acts 2:22-35"Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:......:Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
"Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ."
I hope you enjoyed the scripture, there is a bunch more to find on this subject, you can trace the promises back to abraham, God Bless.
