Crucified on the sixth day, and entered before sunset so as not to break the Sabbath was He.

Sixth Day, Seventh day (one day and one night), first day (two days and two nights), and finall the thesecond day, (three days and three nights.) According to this, Yeshua rose on a Monday if the Sabbath mentioned is a regular Sabbath.

It is prophesied He would be in the ground three days and three nights..........those are the full three and three above.

One Passover, the same as in Egypt the first tiem.......iMitzraim..

What was the SEVENTH DAY, other than the "regular" Sabbath or every week? SATURDAY! How many days were in a week in the time of Christ? SEVEN!!! Yet the scriptures say that those who were running toward the tomb where the body of Jesus had been laid (and they were concerned about who would roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb) were getting there very early on the FIRST DAY of the week. What day was that, which immediately followed the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH? It was SUNDAY, not Monday!

I have but presented a counting of the days accordign to the prophecy... You derive what you will, you are the inquisitor, so your authority is recognized.

Thank you again.......

The Jewish calendar was lunar based, not solar based. Since the Jewish months always began at the new moon, it is logical that the full moon would be on the 14th.

Unless I am mistaken, scripture states that the Passover begins at sunset on the 14th of the first month, regardless of what phase the moon is in. If there is a scripture that states that the phase of the moon determines when the 14th day of the first month falls on, then please provide it Magenta. Thanks!

"These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times: The Lord’s Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. On the fifteenth day of that month the Lord’s Festival of Unleavened Bread begins; for seven days you must eat bread made without yeast. On the first day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. For seven days present a food offering to the Lord. And on the seventh day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.’

I thi8nk the confusion comes in when we even call them months, they are called moons in the Scripture. Months are from the more modern languages.

Psalm 104:19, "You appointed the moon for setting the appointed times*. The sun knows its going down."

appointed timesis word #H4150 - Original Word: מוֹעֵד, Part of Speech: Noun Masculine, Transliteration: moed, Phonetic Spelling: (mo-ade'), Short Definition: meeting, Word Origin from yaad, Definition - appointed time, place, or meeting

Leviticus 23
1, And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
2, “Speak to the children of Yisra’yl, and say to them, ‘The appointed times of יהוה, which you are to proclaim as set-apart gatherings, My appointed times, are these:

Seventh Day Sabbath:
Leviticus 23:3, ‘Six days work is done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a set-apart gathering. You do no work, it is a Sabbath to יהוה in all your dwellings.

High Sabbaths:
Leviticus 23:4, ‘These are the appointed times of יהוה, set-apart gatherings which you are to proclaim at their appointed times.

Passover:
Leviticus 23:5, ‘In the first new moon, on the fourteenth day of the new moon, between the evenings, is the Pĕsaḥa to יהוה.

Unleavened Bread/Firstfruits:
Leviticus 23:6, ‘And on the fifteenth day of this new moon is the Festival of Matzotb to יהוה – seven days you eat unleavened bread.

Feast of Weeks:
Leviticus 23:15, ‘And from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, you shall count for yourselves: seven completed Sabbaths.
16, ‘Until the morrow after the seventh Sabbath you count fifty days, then you shall bring a new grain offering to יהוה.

Feast of Trumpets:
Leviticus 23:23, And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
24, “Speak to the children of Yisra’yl, saying, ‘In the seventh new moon, on the first day of the new moon, you have a rest, a remembrance of Teru‛ah, a set-apart gathering.

Day of Atonement:
Leviticus 23:26, And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
27, “On the tenth day of this seventh new moon is Yom haKippurim. It shall be a set-apart gathering for you.

Feast of Tabernacles and The Last Geart Day/Feast of YHWH:
Leviticus 23:33, And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
34, “Speak to the children of Yisra’yl, saying, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh new moon is the Festival of Sukkot for seven days to יהוה.
35, ‘On the first day is a set-apart gathering, you do no servile work.
36, ‘For seven days you bring an offering made by fire to יהוה. On the eighth day there shall be a set-apart gathering for you, and you shall bring an offering made by fire to יהוה. It is a closing festival, you do no servile work.
37, ‘These are the appointed times of יהוה which you proclaim as set-apart gatherings, to bring an offering made by fire to יהוה, an ascending offering and a grain offering, a slaughtering and drink offerings, as commanded for every day –
38, besides the Sabbaths of יהוה, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your voluntary offerings which you give to יהוה.
39, ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh new moon, when you gather in the fruit of the land, celebrate the festival of יהוה for seven days. On the first day is a rest, and on the eighth day a rest.

Our most precious Savior was placed in the tomb of a wealthy man just before dusk , the dusk of a Sabbath.

Whether it was the Seventh Day or a Special Sabbath, I do not know.

The only truly important truth for me and for you is that He rose again just for us.

I know He was enterred for three days and three nights, there is no secret to this, nor is there any secret manner to count them, three days and three nights.

All blessings from our Maker in Yeshua, amen.
Scripture tells us which Sabbath was the one before his crucifixion. He was in the Tomb for 3 nights and days. The tomb was empty on the first day of week. Therefore he rose near sundown of the weekly Sabbath. Going back 3 days and nights puts it on a Wednesday near sundown. Therefore the Sabbath was a yearly Sabbath related to Passover. Passover week had 2 Sabbaths the first day and last day of the Passover week. These Sabbaths are based on the calendar date not the day of the week.

There is nothing omitted that would be necessar`y in order to count the seven days in the week according to information all who believe already know. Preparation, the day before Sabbath.

I'm afraid you are basing Yashuah's burial and resurrection on your own understanding and not on SCRIPTURE....you are totally ignoring what happened in the three days/nights....all events that require time....more than 24 hours....unless you are saying Jesus rose 3 days after friday. You are getting far away from scripture JJ....you need to rethink !

Don't you know that every Holy day/Annual or High day ALSO has a 'preparation day - besides the weekly Sabbath ? so having 2 separate Sabbaths at Passover there are also 2 preparation days separate from each other. Pleas read Hizikyah's thread on the subject.

I am not touching on the obvious. My posting is giving credit that others are aware of these days.

Preparation day is alsays the day before any holy day. Must I be so specific with those who claim to believe?

If this is the case, then ever month on the lunar calendar begins on the new moon. The number given the days may differ, but not the position of the moon.

Variables must be factored when projecting the days and dates of various holy days. This is an entire field of study that just may bore to tears many who are content to simply rely on Christ crucified as their faith.

There really is nothing more important nor urgent to be evangelized.

If you wish to continue to pick and choose imagined oversights of my own education, be my guest. I am going to thihkinterms of my brethren being somewhat educagted and able to understand when I post.

God blessyou always, and my you truly understand and have the wisdom of the Word, by theHoly Spirit, amen.

I just want to say that truth is important, why is the Word written and recorded for us? To learn more about Yah. It is my belief that the things contained in Scripture are important for us to know or they would not have been recorded for us. Messiah said there is only 1 sign that He is the Messiah. Now we know YHWH testified of the Messiah by many prophecies, but there is only one that that nobody but the Messiah can replicate, 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb.

Allow me to share what i Understand from scripture and how the Hebrews observe days weeks months etc, as applied to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Yeshua.

Yeshua was crcified on the sixth day (Thurs. eve until Fri. sundwon.)

Friday until sundown is yet the day of preparation. Those Jews who were given charg of His burial said, let us take Him down before the Sabbath begins..sundown Friday.

One day from late on the dayof preparation, the sixth day until the seventh day at the same time is one day.
The first and teh second days the same until sundown on the second day. This is three days and three nights. which if you are following began on Thersday just before sundown.

Three days ending at dusk dwind up on Monday, the second day, just before sunset.

They do not end up any other time, it is impossible. You do not combine lunar with solar, this is why they are distinct.

If you prefer, because they are distinct.

Yes, I can count to three.

JJ have you read an considered the first 2 posts on this topic? All the Scriptures are used to show a Friday crucifixion is impossible.

Friday during the daytime is the day of preparation, as mentioned by the disciples when they said they should take His Body down before the Sabbath, Friday sundown.

The sixth day, preparation ends Friday sundown.

Here is scripture that seems to me is saying what I have been repeating, though not with cutting and pasting what I have understood previously...........let me know if I am misunderstanding, please..........thank you and God bless you always.

Mar 15:42 And when even was now come, because it was the Preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,
Mar 15:43 there came Joseph of Arimathaea, a councillor of honorable estate, who also himself was looking for the kingdom of God; and he boldly went in unto Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.

Here are some facts that are recorded in the Bible.
There are weekly Sabbaths.
There are annual Sabbaths.
Annual Sabbaths have a date instead of day of the week.
All Sabbaths have a preparation day just before the Sabbath.
Passover week begins and ends with annual Sabbaths.
High day refers to an annual Sabbath.
Jesus was crucified on a preparation Day.
Jesus was in the Tomb for 3 nights and days.
The tomb was found empty on the first day of the week.

Using these facts it is easy to establish a Timeline.
The tomb being empty on the first day of week means that the latest day for the crucifixion is Wednesday.
Therefore the Sabbath mentioned to remove him from the cross must be an annual Sabbath.
It was during Passover week so it must be the second Sabbath of Passover week.

Therefore using these facts the timeline previously mentioned is correct.
Jesus Crucifixion on Wednesday.
Put in the tomb Wednesday afternoon.
Three days in tomb ends on the afternoon of the last day of the week (Sabbath).
First day of the week the tomb was found empty.

These facts are indisputable.

I agree with everything except perhaps 'afternoon'....what time is that ? Seems it was closer to 'sunset...as the sabbath 'drew on...meaning it was CLOSE....closer than say 'noon.

JJ, the reason there is confusion about ' High days or Annual Holy days is because the Jews also called them 'SABBATHs as well as the 'weekly sabbath....but they are all different sabbaths apart from the weekly EACH one with it's own Preparation day falling on other days than friday.
When Jesus was crucified it was the 'preparation day for the first day of unleavened bread called a 'high day in Joh 19v31 and also called a Sabbath....BUT NOT the weekly Sabbath.
