I think this is the whole point none of us have the power to do what God asks us.

The Gospel is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone who BELIEVES.

When Jesus says COME if you BELIEVE you WILL walk on water and if the son shall make you free you shall be FREE indeed (we are talking about SIN here).

SIN will keep all who KNOWINGLY continue to practice it out of God's Kingdom.
Evening LGF,

Can we limit you shall bee free in regards of sin?
You say "Come believe and you will walk on water"

To me it can also mean to be free is to be free from the things that causes us to doubt.
Just like Peter did when he sunk like a brick.

To be free from doubt or being freed from doubt is also what sets us free, to love Jesus.

Just my thoughts my friend.

Hi Bill nice to see you again my friend. (morning my time, I just woke up)

Absolutely whatsoever is not of FAITH is SIN. Peter walking on water is a good example because he started of BELIEVING the Word of God when Jesus bade him COME.

Peter starting walking on the water because he started off BELIEVING God's WORD.

But Peter lost sight of Jesus with the roaring waves and the biosrous wind and looked to the things around him instead of Jesus and doubted losing FAITH and sight of Jesus caused him to SINK in the water; Peter then cried out Lord SAVE ME.

Jesus reached down to save him and said you of little FAITH why did you doubt?

FAITH is the VICTORY that OVERCOMES SIN and the World. Even if you cannot see it yet, cry out like Peter did "Lord save me" nothing doubting it is true as soon as you BELIEVE him who's WORD is the power of creation.

God bless Bill

Peter actually started off unbelieving. Jesus came to them walking on the water, and Peter, not believing Jesus when He told them it was Him, said 'if it's really you...'

Walking on the water wasn't Jesus idea or command. He had told the disciples to get in the boat, and He didn't tell them to get out of it. He told them 'don't be afraid'. It was doubting Peters idea, and the Lord obliged him. Then watched him fail. Then immediately saved him when he called on Him. Then chided him for his lack of faith. Then put him back in the boat.

'walking on water' gets abused in sermonising, i'm afraid. Or at least, we usually don't look at the whole picture. Contrast this with Peter hearing ((not seeing)) and believing in John 21. Did he walk on water that time? Maybe.

It is one of the central themes of the NT. If you don't see it yourself, there is no way to show it to you. You have missed a main point and have no interest in picking it up.

If i am under Law, then not grace and Jesus hasn't saved me. If i am under Law He died in vain.

You are under the LAW if you are still practicing KNOWN SIN because those in sin stand guilty before God in sin because they have broken Gods Commandments. All who practice KNOWN SIN reject the GIFT of God's dear son. Sin will keep all who practice it out of God's Kingdom because they crucify our Lord afresh and reject his GIFT of salvation.

Hebrews 10
26,
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28, He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29, Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30, For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31, It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

...........

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men everywhere to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at HAND (Acts 17:30-31)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

Being under the law, and being under the sentence of different, The law says "Thou Shalt Not" and if we break that the punishment is death, Genesis 2:17but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die." But when Jesus died on the cross we were freed from the sentence of death, were under grace we have hope that in Jesus he'll forgive us of his sin, and that we are free from the Punishment through him Romans 6 8Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: 9Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Now does that mean we can break the law and sin because were under grace?
Romans 6
15What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 19I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 22But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So in conclusion Being under grace doesn't mean the law is void, it means the law has no power as long as through Jesus we cast sin out of our lives, Love him John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Please answer me this, If the law is void, does that mean we can Murder,Commit adultery or Lie? Please understand, James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

The law must've been voided, first off James is telling us not to break it, and this was written after Christ death and resurrection (I believe so, I could in all honesty be wrong) but if so, then James was talking about the law during the time of paul aswell, The law is still important, Even if the Sabbath is the least important commandment Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Even then you'd be breaking the whole law, So that means in the end, if you reject Sabbath you have to reject all the other ten and commit sin, Which paul just stated wasn't correct, Please brother, wake up, This isn't right, We need to stop following traditions of men, Even the catholic church admit to have Changed the day to Sunday, because "They" have authority, Not from God, please wake up, https://www.sabbathtruth.com/free-r...6/catholic-church-admits-they-made-the-change

Daniel 7 25And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. 26But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. 27And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

Someone's messing with God's laws, stop being blinded by tradition, why reject one commandment while the others are still in contact, if God doesn't change? Numbers 23 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

are you saying God made a mistake by giving us the Sabbath? so he had to give sunday, Please understand I mean not hurt anyone, but it's time to wake up, I don't believe the Sabbath is everything, I believe Keeping God's commandments holy through his Love for us and him is everything, Study for yourself, but please don't reject something that has been plainly laid out before you.

LESSONS FROM MATT 5: AND THE NEW COVENANT
[SUP]
16,[/SUP]
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

[SUP]17,[/SUP] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
[SUP]18,[/SUP] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (Matt 5:17-18)

[SUP]19,[/SUP] Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[SUP]20,[/SUP] For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
[SUP]21, [/SUP]You have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
[SUP]22, [/SUP]But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
[SUP]27,[/SUP] Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
[SUP]28,[/SUP]But I say unto you, that whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

The Law of God (10 commandments) is the work of God (Ex 32:16) whatsoever God does is forever nothing can be added to it or taken away (Ecc 3:14). God's Law is perfect converting the soul (Ps 19:7). It is the very foundation of the Old and New Covenants (Ex 20:1:17, Heb 8:10-12). God's Law was spoken by God himself to His people (Ex 20:1-22). Jesus says Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away (Matt 25:35). Gods Law is still in force today (Ps 111:7-8, Rev 12:17, 14:12, 22:14, 1John 3:5-8, 1John 2:3-4 etc.). The Law of God reveals sin to us so we can see ourselves as we truly are sinners in need of a Saviour (Rom 3:20; 1John 3:4). It is the great standard of the judgement (Ecc 12:13-14, James 2:10-12, 1John 3:4, Acts 17:31). God's Law is our teacher revealing sin and the character of God and brings us to Christ at the foot of the cross that we might be saved by faith by Him who loves us and washed us in His own blood (Gal 3:24; Rev 1:5). God writes His Law in our hearts so that we become like him and we follow him because we love him (Heb 8:10-12) LOVE is the fulfilling (doing) of God's Law (Rom 13:10). This is why Jesus says to those that love him If you love me keep my commandments (John 14:15).

HEB 8: (new covenant)

[SUP]10,[/SUP] For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: [SUP]11,[/SUP] And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. [SUP]12,[/SUP] for I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

God Fulfilling His Law (10 commandments) IN US through Faith?

The fulfilling of the God's Law in us who walk not after the flesh (carnal mind = sin) but after the Spirit (new mind with God's Law written on the heart) (Rom 8:1). That the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled IN US who walk not after the flesh (carnal mind = sin) but after the spirit (Rom 8:4; 6). Salvation is God fulfilling his Law in us saving us from sin. Finally the result of God's salvation can be seen as " Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus (Rev 14:12). God's people with the character of Jesus saved by faith through love. Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:34-36)

If you are partaking of the New Covenant and you have been born again and are walking in the Spirit. You will not steal right and murder? Great let’s look at what you have just said. These are part of God’s Law right (the 10 commandments). You have just agreed that if you are following God under the New Covenant then you will not murder and steal. So let’s look at all of God’s Law applying the same thinking (Ex 20:1-17).

This indeed is the new covenant experience spoken of in Jer 31:31-34; Eze 36:26-27; Heb 8:10-12; 10:16-17.

Jerimiah

[SUP]33[/SUP]I will put my law in their minds, and write it on their hearts
; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No more shall every man teach his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.

This is the law of love to God and to our neighbour.

So now under the new covenant when God changes our heart; we will love God and our neighbour.

if we love God we will not steal
if we love God we will not murder
if we love God we will not commit adultery
if we love God we will not lie
if we love God we will honour our parents
if we love God we will not covet
if we love God we will have no other gods except our God who loves us
if we love God we will not make unto any idols
if we love God we will not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain
if we love God we will Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy as he asked us to!

God’s Law has always been central to both the Old and the New Covenant. It is only by the operation of God as we have Faith in His Word that God changes our hearts so that we can love him and love our neighbour that we can walk in his ways. This is why Jesus says its only if you love me we can keep hid commandments (John 14:15)

Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Psa 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Psa 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Psa 51:13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Love is the fulfilling of the God’s Law in us who walk by faith that works by love and is why love is the fulfilling of God’s Law in us who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit….

This is why Jesus says if you love me keep my commandments; He that says he knows him and keeps not his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. (John 14:15; 1 John 2:2-4). This includes the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath which is one of the 10 (Exodus 20:8-11)

..............

Hebrews 12:18-24

You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm; to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them, because they could not bear what was commanded: "If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death." The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, "I am trembling with fear." But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

Hebrews 10:1-9

The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, 'Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, my God.'" First he said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them"—though they were offered in accordance with the law. Then he said, "Here I am, I have come to do your will." He sets aside the first to establish the second.

wow, did you just chastise someone for pushing Scripture aside? well, yesterday, you pushed aside the Sermon on the Mount, the fruits of the Sprit, the works of the flesh. then you posted about the meat of the Word, after dismissing these.

man, throw the ellen white propaganda out the window, and read the Bible, all the way through. you cannot dismiss Scripture that does not highlight the Sabbath. Jesus is the center of the Bible, not the jewish Sabbath, which was never commanded to gentiles.

Hello Friend

It is only by faith that works by love that anyone can follow him who loves all. How can we being evil do good things?

Truly, truly I say unto you unless a man is born again he can in no wise see the Kingdom of Heaven.

This is because spiritual things are spiritually discerned and they this is foolishness unto him who sees not.

Many are called but few are chosen because narrow is the way and few there be that find it.

Only the mirror shows the way so the blind can see. Those that say they see are really the blind ones and if the blind shall lead the blind both shall fall into a ditch.

Those that have looked into the mirror however see they are blind so they walk by faith and not by sight. They see the one who loves all and follow him.

Only by love can God fulfill his Law in the blind because they walk by faith and see him who loves all. The mirror shows the way. How can you find your way with your mirror is lost or broken?

Do you know the scriptures gb9?

yes, I do, well enough to know that Biblical teaching is true. sda inventor ellen white, who is your teacher, is false. Sabbath keeping does not save.

and, sin is knowing to do good and not doing so. not just braking a command.

who should believe? James, the brother of the Lord, or a lady who fell, hit her head, started receiving visits from angels, and invented the sda cult?

There is only life in the living Word. These are his Words and not my own. Bearing false witness helps no one and does not show the love of him who LOVES all. Freely I give because freely I have received. Your Words are not directed towards me but to the one who the Word belongs. The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord.

If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. I must speak in the light and what I hear preach in the housetops. Many will not hear because they do not know Him. He is the Word of God and those that believe him are those that he has chosen. They follow him because they love him and are loved by him.

We should not point people to the teachings of men over the Word of God. For me, he must increase and I must decrease. I only point all to the Word of God because it is there we find the one who loves us that we may love him. I know him and am known by him.

All that he shows me I see and must show to all because I am blind. He tells me it is those that see that do not see. These are they that have once known him or do not know him. Who am I that he should choose me out of the world? I am no one but he is all. If I did not believe him I would not know him.

What can I do without him? He is love and now I love. I follow him now because I love him who first loved me. I do not judge you but His Word will judge us because they are there for all to see. All are welcome to see and hear God's Word, however many are called but few are chosen.

Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils but His Word is promises to deliver us and it is here we must find safety. We ought to obey God rather than man. God is love and he that dwells in love dwells in God.

Do you know the scriptures gb9?

Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

o.k. then, if I am bearing false witness against you, denounce ellen white as a false teacher, say you do not follow her doctrine, then I will stand corrected.

we should not follow the teachings of men. or women.

yes,i know Scripture . I know that Deuteronomy says that Israel ( not the world ), Israel was commanded to keep the Sabbath as a reminder that they were slaves in Egypt, and God delivered them.

were you a slave in Egypt?

Amen! NOWHERE does the NT teach that keeping the Sabbath day is binding on Christians under the New Covenant. SDA's can quote a multitude of scriptures and twist those scriptures to try and make them say whatever they want them say, but they are not fooling us. ;)

*Sabbath keeping with all it's rules and regulations, was part of a covenant with Israel that is not binding on Christians under the New Covenant.

*Colossians 2:16 - Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

Even when SDA's set out to worship on the Sabbath, are they truly "keeping the Sabbath?" To "keep the Sabbath" as it was required in the Old Testament under the Old Covenant would involve compliance with specific regulations (Exodus 16:23; 35:3; Leviticus 23:32; Jeremiah 17:21) that were strictly enforced.

If Sabbath day observances are still required, so would the burnt offerings which went along with them (Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3; Numbers 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13). So no kindling a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath (Exodus 35:3). Every man must remain in his place (no traveling) on the sabbath (Exodus 16:29). No trading (Amos 8:5). No marketing (Nehemiah 10:31; 13:15,19).

These were commanded by God to Israel (Exodus 35:1).

If the seventh day Sabbath is still in affect, then why do not the Sabbatarians seek to obey ALL that the LORD commanded? How can a person keep a certain law when he keeps only part of it?

If the Sabbath day laws were still in effect today, then according to Exodus 31:12-18; 35:1-3; and Numbers 15:32-36, anyone who profaned the Sabbath was put to death and any person who does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from his people.

Who is going to enforce that? The Jewish synagogue? The Seventh day Adventist church? The Government? Since we do not live under a theocratic state as ancient Israel did under the Old Covenant, no Sabbatarian can live consistently under these Mosaic regulations.

SDA's play the same game in salvation as every other false movement of Christendom. They profess to teach that salvation is by grace through faith, but then redefine this in a way that is contrary to salvation by grace through faith, not works. Even though they deny this, they teach that salvation is by "grace plus law, faith plus works." Their doctrine of salvation is a subtle mixture of law and grace that is a perversion of the Gospel (Galatians 1:6-9). :(

Great points.

Trying to to keep the Sabbath in a certain way because you believe it’s a sin not to, is trying to be justified by the law.

If i am under Law, then not grace and Jesus hasn't saved me. If i am under Law He died in vain.
If you preach that "under the Law" means death as it is intended, then you are either under the Law or under Grace. (Dead or Alive)

But if you further the false preaching that "under the Law" means under the requirement to "Love God with all your heart", then you reject Grace, because Jesus said:

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
