The issue of Saturday vs Sunday hangs on the interpretation of Acts 20 verse 7. At issue is the Sabbath walking distance. Was this gathering to worship or just to meet becaube of the Sabbath walking restrictions.

Acts 20 NIV

7 On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight. 8 There were many lamps in the upstairs room where we were meeting. 9 Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead. 10 Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “He’s alive!” 11 Then he went upstairs again and broke bread and ate. After talking until daylight, he left. 12 The people took the young man home alive and were greatly comforted.
That has absolutely no truth in it whatsoever. All Acts 20:7 says is that the disciples met to have a meal together because Paul was departing the next day.

God's Word indeed disagrees with you.........

8. If someone is committing unrepentant sin they are following the devil and not God (1 John 3:7)
9. If you are born of God and abiding in him you will not commit sin (1 John 3:9; 1 John 3:6; John 15:4-10

What did Jesus and the Apostles teach about the Sabbath in the New Testament?

1. It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)

3. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28)

God’s Law in the NC is written on our hearts it is through love and it is love the fulfils God’s Law in us as we walk not after the flesh but after the spirit and is why Jesus says f you love me keep my commandments. (John 14:15; John 15:10). If we knowingly break one of God’s commandments we commit sin (1 John 3:4).

This includes the 7th Day Sabbath which Jesus made for us and commands us to keep as a holy day.

Yep seems like a LOT of scipture disagrees with you my friend.

Glad to meet you too, LoveGodForever.
I agree with what you say about not conducting any sort of business, with ones sole attention toward the Lord.
As such, I also believe that anyone meeting these conditions on any day of the week, would then make the day of the week they do so, that individuals equivalent Sabbath.
Hi Louis, the problem here is that God has specified that this day is to be the 7th day of the week in the 4th Commandment and not any other day because it was the 7th Day of the week that God made as a HOLY day in the creation week for mankind.

Genesis 2
1,
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2, And ON THE SEVENTH DAY God ended his work which he had made; and he RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY from all his work which he had made.
3, And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, and made it HOLY <the 7th day>: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

links to........

Exodus 20
8,
Remember the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)
9, Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
10, But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT.

Remembering the 7th DAY is acknowledging that God is the creator of Heaven and Earth and all things in them.................

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

This has no basis in truth whatsoever. How do you know who follows God out of LOVE and not LOVE when only God knows the HEART? (Acts 15:8)

How has anything I have said here in this thread or elsewhere said that we are saved from lawkeeping?

Please show me one instance I have said to you or anyone else that we are saved by the works of the law. If you cannot you are once again bearing false witness and lying. This is sad for you my friend. You bear false witness because you do NOT know God's Word and as Jesus says;

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Once again like I have always said so many times already. We are ONLY saved by GRACE through FAITH and NOT OF OURSELVES it is a GIFT OF GOD and NOT of WORKS lest anyman should boast.

However, if your FAITH does not have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE then you are still in your SINS because you have rejected the GIFT of God's dear SON. (James 2:18; 20; 26)

If your tree has no FRUIT it will be cast down and thrown into the FIRE come judgement day (Matthew 7:12-23). Now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth NOT forth good fruit is CUT down, and cast into the fire (Matthew 3:10).

If you are still in your SINS when Jesus gives you a KNOWLEDGE of the truth then you do not KNOW him who calls you in LOVE to LOVE another as he first LOVED you because you have REJECTED God's Word he will reject you. UNBELIEVERS have NO part in God's KINGDOM.

............

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

do you not consider double-speak a lie? you claim that you think that no one is saved by works, then you flip and say that anyone who breaks a command is not getting into the Kingdom. salvation by command keeping is what you teach. ( your wrong, ). so, every time you do this, it is dishonest.

especially when it is not even a command for N.T. believers.

There is no double speak my friend what you do not understand is that God's plan of SALVATION is FROM SIN NOT IN SIN.

It is God who says that SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM not me.

You indeed preach another Gospel like your friend and another Jesus having a form of Godliness but denying the POWER thereof.

That has absolutely no truth in it whatsoever. All Acts 20:7 says is that the disciples met to have a meal together because Paul was departing the next day.

God's Word indeed disagrees with you.........

Jesus taught the 10 commandments…..

1. Jesus kept God’s Law (10 commandments) and said the Law and the prophets would not pass away (Matt 5:17-18)
2. Jesus taught others to follow the 10 commandments (Mark 10:17-21)
3. Jesus taught that Love is the fulfilling (doing) of God’s Law (10 commandments Matt 22:36-40)
4. If we break God’s Law by following man-made traditions we are not following God (Matt 15:3-9)
5. Jesus says if we commit sin we are a servant of sin and he has come to free us from sin (John 8:32-36)
6. Jesus taught if you love God you will keep God’s Law and abide in His Love (John 14:15; 15:10
7. If anyone is breaking any of God’s commandments and teaching others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven <least = lost> (Matt 5:19)
8. No one can obey God’s Law producing the fruit of obedience of ourselves and unless we abide in Jesus we can do nothing (John 15:4-10)

Paul affirms the Ten Commandments……

1. Paul teaches God's people keep the Sabbath Hebrews 4.
2. Paul tells gentiles that "what matters is KEEPING the Commandments of GOD" 1 Cor 7:19
3. Paul tells gentiles "it is not the HEARERS of the Law that are just before God but the DOERS of the Law will be justified... on the day when according to my GOSPEL God will judge all mankind" Rom 2:13-16
4. Paul asks that gentiles consider the doctrine of LAW "Do we then make void the LAW of God by our faith? God forbid! In fact we establish the Law of God" Rom 3:31
5. Paul tells ALL Christians that it is only the lost who will "not subject themselves to the Law of God neither indeed CAN they" Rom 8:6-8
6 Paul reaches all Christians under the NEW Covenant that God's LAW as known in Jer 31:31-33 is "written on the heart and mind" Heb 8:7-11
7. Paul tells all Christians that the OT text is to be used for Doctrine 2Tim 3:16
AND He never claims that "if I did not write it -- it is not scripture for us today" -- as one or two have imagined for us.
8. Paul tells all Christians that the 5th commandment is the "FIRST commandment with a promise" Eph 6:1-2 and is binding on all Christians.
9. God's Law (10 commandments) are holy, just and good (Rom 7:12)
10. God's Law gives us a knowledge of what sin is (Rom 3:20; 7:7)
11. The penalty of breaking God's Law without Jesus is death (Rom 6:23)
12. If we break God's Law we dishonor God (Rom 2:23)
13. If we sin we are "under the Law" and guilty before God (Rom 3:19)
14. We are saved by faith but our faith establishes the Law in us (Rom 3:31)
15. If we are saved by grace we should not break God's Law (Rom 6:1-7)
16. We should not break God's Law if we are under grace (Rom 6:15)
17. We are to serve the Law of God through the mind because that is where sin starts (Rom 6:17; 7:25; 8:4; 12:2)
18. It is God's Law that brings us to Jesus (Gal 3:24)
19. God's salvation frees us from sin so we can be obedient to God's Law and live a life of holiness (Rom 6:22)
20. We will be judged by God's Law and only those that are obedient will be justified because of their faith (Rom 2:4-13)
21. God's Law can only be obeyed through love and a changed heart which comes by faith in God's Word (Rom 2:21-29; 13:9-10; Heb 8:9-10)
22. If we break God's Law and are in unrepentant sin we will be lost and will received God's judgements (Heb 10:26-27)

John affirms the 10 commandments……

1. John says it is only by keeping God’s 10 commandments that we know that we know God (1 John 2:3)
2. If someone says that they know God and do not keep God’s 10 commandments they are lying and not telling the truth (1 John 2:4)
3. We should purify ourselves as Jesus is pure (1 John 3:3)
4. Sin is the breaking of God’s 10 commandments (1 John 3:4)
5. Whoever is abiding in Christ does not commit sin (1 John 3:6; John 15:4-10)
6. If you are in unrepentant sin you have not seen Jesus or know him (1 John 3:6)
7. John warns us that only those that are obedience to God’s Law are his true followers (1 John 3:7)
8. If someone is committing unrepentant sin they are following the devil and not God (1 John 3:7)
9. If you are born of God and abiding in him you will not commit sin (1 John 3:9; 1 John 3:6; John 15:4-10
10. It is the keeping of God’s commandments that is the difference between those that are following God and those that are not following God (1 John 3:10; 1 John 5:3)
11. It is only by Love through faith that we can keep God’s commandments (1 John 5:3-4)
12. God’s true believers in the end days will keep all of God’s commandments through faith in Jesus (Rev 14:12; 22:14)

James also affirms the 10 commandments…….

1. James says God’s Law (10 commandments) are a Royal Law (James 2:8)
2. If we break one of God’s commandments we a guilty before God as sinners breaking all of God’s Law and gave some examples of breaking God’s Law (James 2:9-11)
3. James says God’s Law is a law of liberty and freedom (James 2:12)
4. The 10 commandments (God’s Law) are the standard in the judgment (James 2:12)
5. If our faith does not have the fruit of obedience to God’s Law it is dead and not true faith (James 2:16-26)

Peter affirms the 10 commandments……..

1. Sanctification is to obedience to God’s Law (1 Pet 1:2)
2. We can only be changed from sin to obedience to God’s Law by the power of God and it will be revealed in the last days (1 Pet 1:5)
3. We should give up our sins to be holy because Jesus is holy (1 Pet 1:13-16)
4. Jesus is your example who did no sin (1 Pet 2:21-22)
5. Cease from sin and do not live in the flesh (1 Pet 4:1-3)
6. Judgement will begin at the house of God and sinners (those breaking God’s 10 commandments) will not be saved.
7. God has given us his precious promises and as we believe them God will grant us his divine power to live a life of Godliness (obedience to God’s Law; 2 Pet 1:2-4)
8. The Un-Godly (disobedient to God’s Law) will be like Sodom and Gomorrah (2 Pet 2:6)
9. If any turn away from God’s Law and are in unrepentant sin breaking any of God’10 commandments they will be lost (2 Pet 2:20-22)
10 God is not willing that any should perish but that everyone should come to repentance and turn away from sin to follow God’s 10 commandments because those that do not will receive the judgements of God (2 Pet 3:5-14)

2. Jesus made the Sabbath for all mankind (Hebrews 1:2; John 1:1-3; 14; Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:16-17; Mark 2:27)
3. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28)
4. If you do not believe and follow God you cannot enter His Sabbath rest (Hebrews 4)
5. It is one of God’s 10 commandments we break it we are guilty or breaking all (James 2:8-12)
6. Breaking it is sin (1 John 3:4)
7. God’s true followers keep it Holy as God commanded (Rev 14:12; Rev 22:14; Eze 20:20)
8. Jesus is our example and he kept the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matt 16:24; 1 Cor 11:1; Eph 5:1-21; Pet 2:20-22)
9. The Apostle kept the Sabbath (Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Rev 1:10)

God’s Law in the NC is written on our hearts it is through love and it is love the fulfils God’s Law in us as we walk not after the flesh but after the spirit and is why Jesus says f you love me keep my commandments. Funny how you were just complaining at someone for not being nice. Then insulted them. And now are insulting someone else.
Long posts Do get read on here, just by fewer people. But still get read.
Really all I've seen of you is contradiction. Speaks poorly of your character.

Sorry Endoscopy, there is a lot of scripture that disagrees with you and from your response it shows you do not have any.

Only God's Word is true and we should believe and follow it. SIN will keep all who KNOWINGLY practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

.............

Wow! Nice catalogue of Scriptural considerations.

I was wondering, do you only uphold the 10 commandments?

Or probably other Torah portions as well?

Just curious where you stand...

blessings.

Hi BibleGuy,

BIG Welcome here and so nice to meet you.

God's Word teaches that;

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished to all good works (2 Tim 3:16-17).

and

Man does not live by bread alone but by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Deut 8:3; Matthew 4:4)

The Old Testament was the bible of Jesus and the Apostles. Everything in the NEW Testament scriptures come from the OLD Testament. Together the OLD Testament and the NEW Testament scriptures are THE WORD OF GOD and we are to live by EVERY WORD OF IT.

FAITH in GOD'S WORD gives us the VICTORY to OVERCOME the WORLD. Without it we can do nothing.

Many of the OLD Testament scriptures point forward to the Messaih and outline God's plan of salvation under the NEW Covenant. While many of the Old Covenant laws for remission of SIN were fulfilled in Christ much of the OLD Testament scriptures are built upon in the NEW Testament.

The OLD and NEW Testament scriptures are the two witnesses that agree and together they are the Gospel of Jesus Christ (our Savior from SIN).

May God bless you as you continue in His Words.

Everyone will be judged by whether they accept Jesus and act accordingly.
That is true, but what concerns me is what they believe about Jesus, because those same people who see Jesus as a scapegoat, see him only as a man, and do not believe in his divinity.

It is these same people who spread all sorts of nonsense on the internet.

What is at issue is the distorting of God's Word. The Mainstream Preachers of Christ's time had distorted God's Word into something it wasn't. They "taught for doctrines the commandments of men". It's not about making someone cut flesh off their private parts, or refusing to observe this day or another with me. It's about exposing doctrines which do not come from the Bible.

Some examples are;

The Pharisees were trying to earn salvation by keeping God's Laws.

This is an insidious lie that is furthered in Mainstream Christianity and in this forum. Jesus called these Mainstream Preachers of His time "Children of satan". satan is not interested in keeping God's Commands or teaching others to keep God's commands. To preach otherwise is ignorant in the least, deceptive at most. Eve and the serpent is a perfect example of a force using some of God's Word to turn people away from trusting God enough to do as He says.

This lie leads to another lie prevalent in todays mainstream preaching, that God's Instructions are burdensome. Jesus says the Pharisees created burdensome laws, not God.

Matt. 23:4 For they (The Pharisees, not God or His Word) bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

But you preach it is God who placed the "yoke" on men's shoulders. Another falsehood.

I could go on and on.

These lies are what I hope to address in my posts. Jesus said the "Truth will set us free". Free from what? God's Word?, or the deception of religious man?

LGF posts scriptural evidence that your religion is founded on the words and works of man, not God. If this were Jesus time, you would just stone him to death to silence him. Today you just hate and work to discredit.

It's all the same spiritually though. Nothing new under the sun.
Well written Studyman indeed this is truth and all should listen.

I don't recall the Lord ever saying that He came to fulfill only certain parts of the law and that He would deliver us from one aspect of the law but we were definitely under the rest.
Fulfill is in as do (execute); not do away with.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil Execute to the fullest). For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled (caused to be).
(Mat 5:17-18 KJV)

Seems like a whole lot of twisting of scripture to try and place people under the law again. Here are a couple really simple ones.
Everything is laid out simply to reveal the context of the passages. Read each one again and address each point made. First Colossians

Sabbaths is plural in Colossians sixteen and is in reference to the Sabbaths contained in the Book of the Law. These are they which were handwritten.

14) Blotting out the handwriting to the ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

The text reads the handwriting to the ordinances that were against us; not the handwriting of ordinances. The Decalogue is of the Ordinances, not the handwriting to the ordinances. The Ordinances are the Decalogue and the Commandments and Statutes contained in the Book of the Law that pertained to righteousness. These are they which let us know what sin is. These Were not against us. The Judgements and Statutes that related to when we sin were.

And having spoiled (stripping off) principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Through Christ there is no need for the principalities and powers; the handwriting to the ordinances contained in the Book of the Law that were mandated due to our sinning because through Jesus we do not need them. They condemned due to our sinning. We now have victory over sin through Christ. And if we do sin we have an Advocate (Helper) toward the Father; Jesus Christ!

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

(Col 2:14-17)

The word therefore draws verse 16 and 17 into the context of what was previously stated in verses fourteen and fifteen. There is no doubt these text are referring to the meat and drink offerings, festivals and Sabbaths that were in the handwriting to the ordinances. This is what the Scripture say. A proper rendering of the text and Context proves this.

So it was answered
No; This statute was fulfilled in Christ. It was instituted as were others so that they stood out as GOD's people.

Christ is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
(Eph 2:14; Gal 3:27-28;Col 3:10-11 )
Then posthuman wrote
it's right there where the prophet says "from one new moon to another, from one sabbath to another"
So I posted
This is a future prophecy that relates to us in Heaven worshipping GOD. It shows that the Sabbath is still recognized in the future when we are in Heaven as is the cycles of the moon.
The word for new moon here is most often translated month throughout the Holy Writ. Weather it relates to the festivals or not is speculative outside of The fact that the Levitical priesthood and the Temple services which received the meat and drink offerings and morning and evening sacrifices on the new moon festivals and sabbaths contained in the handwriting to the ordinances (the Book of the Law) were down away with in Christ.

You don't have to. But this is what the LORD says pertaining to how we need to keep the Sabbath.

Heb. 4:9,10

There remaineth therefore a Sabbath keeping to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest (the Gospel), he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

As GOD did from HIS is a direct comparison. God ceased from work and rested on the Seventh Day which is the Sabbath so that is what we should do because it is written.

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

(Gen 2:2-3 KJV)

Please follow along.

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest (receive the Gospel), any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the Gospel (HIS Rest) preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest (receive the Gospel), as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest (receive the Gospel): although the works (for the Gospel) were finished from the foundation of the world ( the Gospel has been available to them since the foundation of the world). For he spake in a certain place (GOD spoke on Mt Sinia in the giving of the Ten Commandments) of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again (HE speaks), If they shall enter into my rest (receive the Gospel).

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein (the Gospel), and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief (disobedience):

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest (the Gospel), lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief (disobedience).

(Heb
4:1-6, 9-11 KJV)

No twisting.
If you are going to imply I twisted something in regards to the Holy Writ please prove it with in the text posted. TO TAKE TEXT OUT OF CONTEXT FROM ELSEWHERE AND IMPLY THEY MEAN THIS OR THAT PROVES NOTHING.
BECAUSE

Matthew 11:28-29
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Needs to be understood in the context to all that Matthew shared.
As does this text found in Galatians needs to be understood in context to the letter in which it is written ...

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

You know, the ministry of death written on stone... (2 Corinthians 3:10)
The reason why it is not a ministry death anymore is because the New Covenant is that the things of the Spirit (the Decalogue, GOD's commandments and Statutes contained in the Book of the Law are to be written in our heart.
No longer are they something that we must do but they are what we are in Christ Jesus. We do them now because of who we are in Him. We can't help ourselves because it is who we are. We are of the Spirit not of the letter. Our sufficiency is not of ourselves but of GOD. For it is HE that works in us both to will and do HIS good pleasure. Any they TWO shall be one! This a great mystery but I speak of Christ and the Church.

For GOD has said, For the LORD our GOD will circumcise our hearts and the hearts of our seed. For righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ (Anointed; GOD's commands and statutes written in the Book of the Law. In other words the Word; the Divine utterances) down from above Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ (Anointed; GOD's commands and statutes written in the Book of the Law. In other words the Word; the Divine utterances) again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word (the Divine utterances; Christ the Anointed; GOD's commands and statutes written in the Book of the Law.) is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: (that thou mayest do it) that is, the word of faith, which we preach.

That which is stated in Romans 10 was first prophesied in Deut. 30. It was GOD’s intention for us to receive Christ, that He work through us since the time of Moses if not before.

Hi Studyman,
Anyone can string texts of scripture together and make it say what they want. Every cult does this, and this is exactly what LGF does - he strings texts together and adds SDA spin to the text and with a slight of hand and a 'hey presto' we have legalism.
You indeed teach another Gospel and another Jesus not from Gods' Word to follow the deeds of your father. As Studyman has already shown you through scripture. If you follow man-made traditions that break the commandments of God then you are indeed not following God.

Instead of replying to the posts and scripture in them that have been sent to you your efforts are indeed to attack the messenger because you cannot attack the scriptures that do not agree with you.

This was the same reaction that the mainstream religious teachers of the day had to Jesus. They called him of the devil and his followers a cult and their fathers stoned the prophets before them. Seems the minority are always in good company.

Matthew 10
25,
It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

WHO ARE GOD'S SAINTS?

Revelation 14
12,
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

and is why Jesus says...

John 14
15,
If ye love me, keep my commandments.

My friend do you LOVE Jesus?

what studyman ( and you ) show is you have no interest in context, chronological order, and word definitions , you only want to push your doctrines.

you think you have to use 40 different verses from 5 different books to explain the context of 1st John 3, with 1st John being a letter, which is the context.

you and studyman think Acts 15 puts gentiles under the law ( it does the opposite ).

I could go on, but these are enough to prove you and him wrong.

He did not even quote Acts 15. And your post does not even really prove anything. Rather post stuff like this why not actually post a post that deals with the Scriptures you say they are understanding incorrectly. Then when they respond to you again you post a response to those Scriptures; and so on.

do you not consider double-speak a lie? you claim that you think that no one is saved by works, then you flip and say that anyone who breaks a command is not getting into the Kingdom. salvation by command keeping is what you teach. ( your wrong, ). so, every time you do this, it is dishonest.

especially when it is not even a command for N.T. believers.
SDA's place a lot of emphasis on obeying the Ten Commandments, particularly the fourth commandment as the based for receiving eternal life. Their whole end-time eschatology is built upon a great, cosmic conflict that is being played out before the entire universe, and the battle lines have been drawn over the Sabbath Commandment. The conflict over the Sabbath is the final conflict between good and evil, and it is the separating wall that divides "loyal" Christians from "disloyal" Christians.

With all this emphasis being placed upon the law, it is no wonder that SDA's have a tendency to get bogged down in legalism.

Ellen G White has only added to the problem with some of her legalistic statements such as these below:

"...The terms of salvation for every son and daughter of Adam are here outlined. It is plainly stated that the condition of gaining eternal life is obedience to the commandments of God".

"To obey the commandments of God is the only way to obtain His favor."

"He [man] must be reconciled to God through obedience to His law."

Scripture teaches that obedience to the commandments/law has no part in earning God's favor or His reconciliation:

Romans 3:22 - even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. ..for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. (Galatians 2:16,21)

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8,9)

There is a danger in any religious philosophy that depends in any degree on works to obtain or earn salvation.

He did not even quote Acts 15. And your post does not even really prove anything. Rather post stuff like this why not actually post a post that deals with the Scriptures you say they are understanding incorrectly. Then when they respond to you again you post a response to those Scriptures; and so on.
you see, that is the game ya'll want to play. you and others have a purpose- to keep the law / Sabbath, and push others toward doing so. so, you have your hand-plucked verses and opinion commentary ready to go. and you put out talking points, and try to push conversation in a certain Sinai based direction.

I know what you, him, studydude, and the rest of the sda/ Hebrew roots crowd are doing-trying to undercut and undermine faith and trust in Christ for salvation, and mix in law and works and Sabbath. sorry, see right through it.

saved by grace, through faith for good works is Biblical. salvation through faith in Christ is Biblical. salvation through law and Sabbath keeping is a hoax, Paul called it bewitching ( not the old t.v. show), it saves no one, it only gives one a false sense of self-righteousness that will be sadly exposed on judgement day.

SDA's play the same game in salvation as every other false movement of Christendom. They profess to teach that salvation is by grace through faith, but then redefine this in a way that is contrary to the Gospel. Even though they deny this, they teach that salvation is by "grace plus law, faith plus works." Their doctrine of salvation is a subtle mixture of law and grace that is a perversion of the Gospel. (Galatians 1:6-9) :(
