Now brother Jackson,

How you think the above post supports you breaking God's commandment it beyond me. Good luck trying to say that to God on the day of judgement.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten ( Exodus 20:8-11 ) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God ask s us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)
brother LGF, OT is not only 10 commandment. And 10 commandment is not only sabbath.

Semm to me NT refocus 10commandment.

10 commandment say not to commit adultery, Jesus say If you lust to woman that is not your wife, you commit adultery

10 commandment say, keep sabbath Holy. I believe NT say keep every day Holy.

Here is the problem guys, it says:

2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

and again:

2Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

And it is without challenge that the word of truth or the holy scriptures here are referring to the Old testament.

So that being an undisputed fact then do show from the OT your position on the Sabbath.

This is not the first time I have put this request out there and I am not the only person to do so. And yet nothing. How is it that you can not see that you are twisting scripture to fit a theology the disciples of Christ would not do?

All the NT writers backed up their doctrinal points with a thus saith the Lord from the OT.

If it was circumcision they used the OT.

If it was sacrifices they used the OT.

If it was priesthood they used the OT.

If it was loving God they used the OT.

If it was law they used the OT.

The Gospels are replete with OT references to support their NT claims. So are the letters. Revelation is mostly OT quotes.

So its not too much to ask you to do and follow the example of those who carried the truth of Gods word to us in the NT.

And if you can't do it then that tells you something.

Thankful again for the kindness in your reply.
In part as you yourself have approached the subject of a certain Sabbath.
I believe you said something about the Sabbath that may of answered your op.
Though i will have to weigh until tomorrow to show you the pattern.

Below in quotations is of interest. Particularly where you left off yochanan(John 19;31 see also High..Holy Day..
"Now please pay attention to the Hebrew word used for the annual ceremonial festival SABBATH'S which uses a DIFFERENT Hebrew Word from God's 4th commandment above. This is not H7676 the ceremonial SABBATH Hebrew Word is H7677 and has a different meaning because it is NOT the same as God's 4th commandment......

Leviticus 23: 3; 24; 32 SABBATH and RESTED separate or together meaning H7677 שׁבּתון shabbâthôn shab-baw-thone' From H7676; a sabbatism or special holiday: - rest, sabbath.

So the base meaning of Sabbath from God's 4th commandment in the Hebrew is to rest from work (Gen) the commandment is every 7th day rest from work and THEN WE HAVE THE SPECIAL FESTIVAL SABBATH(S) <more than one different Hebrew meaning H7677> OF THE MOSAIC ANNUAL FEASTIVAL LAWS, THAT WERE NOT THE 7TH DAY SABBATH OF THE 4th COMMANDMENT AND COULD FALL ON ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

(John 19:31 see also High"

Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. 32 The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. 33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. 35 The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. 36 These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken,”[c] 37 and, as another scripture says, “They will look on the one they have pierced.”[d]

Now as per weekly sabbath, how is it that a circumcision can occur any day of the week.?
Nice talking to you as well 7777pinacled, please forgive my typos early morning my time.

I am not sure of the point your trying to make in this post however so you may have to explain it a little further. Circumcision is a Shadow of a new heart in the New Covenant (Romans 2:28-29; Hebrew 8:10-12).

Circumcision could be performed on any day of the week because the gift of God can be received on any day of the week when someone chooses to BELIEVE the Word of God (John 3:16-21).

what you have here is a clear case of using the 4th command to violate the 2nd command. which, unlike the 4th, was repeated many times directly in the N.T. the 4th was not.

Hi brother Jackson, thanks for your post. I think most of your post is correct except the last part I highlighted in bold above. Where does it say in God's Word that we are to keep everyday as a Holy day? If we were required to keep everyday as a Holy day no one would be able to work as this is a requirement of keeping the day Holy. (Exodus 20:8-11)

Hello gb9, that is not true at all. What we are talking about, is that SIN is breaking God's LAW (10 commandments) see James 2:11; Romans 7:7; Romans 3:20 and 1 John 3:4. If we knowingly break any of them we stand guilty before God in SIN and in need of repentance and forgiveness (Acts 17:30-31; 1 2:38; 1 John 2:1; 1 John 1:9)

sin is knowing to do good and not doing so. that levels the playing field. also, you stated you do not think that believing in Jesus is enough for salvation. so, by that definition, you are not a Christian.

Hello MarcR, and how does what you have written above change the meaning of what Hizikyah was trying explain earlier?
Very simply:

He is trying to make a case for a renewed covenant but Scripture speaks of a new covenant. There really is a difference!

Thanks MarcR for your reply,

What do you think Hizikyah means by as you say a "renewed" covenant? I did not pick this up from Hizikyah's post maybe I missed something?

To my understanding something that is "renewed" is something that is the same as it was before. If something is not the same as before is it not new? Thanks for your thoughts...

Hello brother Jackson, NO that is not true my friend. You said in your last post you do not need to keep God's 4th commandment a Holy day and we should keep everyday a Holy day.

This is what God's Word says......................

Exodus 20
8, REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY TO KEEP IT HOLY.
9, Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10, But THE SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD THY GOD: <How do we keep God's Sabbath as a Holy day?> IN IT YOU SHALL DO NO WORK, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <Why do we keep God's Sabbath a Holy day>
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: <see Genesis 2:1-3>

We mus BELIEVE and FOLLOW the WORD of GOD. Only the BELIEVERS who FOLLOW God's WORD by FAITH are his people. UNBELIEVERS have NO part in the KINGDOM of HEAVEN. How can you live if you cannot work anymore and where does it day in God's Word to keep everyday a Holy day?

Once again NO because Jesus says if your traditions break the commandments of GOD you are NOT following God.

Matthew 15
3, But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4, For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death.
5, But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever you might be profited by me;
6, And honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
7, Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
8, This people draws nigh unto me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9, But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

to worship God every day is not transgress the commandment of God

worship God must in spirit and truth.

Physically worship may transgress God commandment even If we do It in saturday or sunday

now the focus is in the way you worship. It is in spirit and truth or not

Walk trough the valley
Friend if you think God's Law is abolished how will you know what SIN is? IF you do not know what SIN is how would you know that you have any NEED of a Savior. If you have no need of a Savior then you have no salvation. If you have no salvation you will be lost. SIN will keep all who practice it out of God's Kingdom.
"Sin shall not have dominion over you for you are not under the law but under Grace."
Doesn't mater how we look at it in our understanding, whether sin abolished, the Law, or both, we walk by faith:

Jesus destroyed the power of sin and nullified the old covenant:
The old covenant could only be nullified by the death of the one who made the covenant, Jesus did not die in vain: About divorce and remarriage: had the religious leaders known they would not have crucified Him. "A change of the Law,"
"A new commandment I give to you, that you Love one another; as I love you, that you also Love one another."
If we obey, following Jesus in His death: praying and forgiving our enemies, only possible by the Holy Spirit: with our first Love in God. Means we are obeying the 2 commandments that the whole law and prophets hang on, on the tree with Christ.
This clears up why Jesus gave us the New commandment: having done away with the old.
Thanks be to God we have something good to preach about, Jesus cleansed our sins in His blood, rose victorious, with the keys of death and hell, and all power in heaven and earth given to Him. "If we suffer with Him we shall rule with Him."

"Unless we forsake everyone and everything and our own live we cant be His disciple."
This is the Sabbath rest that we enter, as we obey the new commandment: as His disciple we enter the Resurrection.
The law abolished so that we don't glory in the flesh. "We had the sentence of death in ourselves so that we should not trust in ourselves but in God that raises the dead." Neither can those in the flesh enter into rest in God. "The rest of the dead are not raised until the 1,000 year reign is finished." "The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and hell gave up the dead that were in them, and everyone was judged according to what they had done."

Jesus abolished the Law of sin and death and gave us the New commandment and so much more:
In the communion of the Last super, left His will as our inheritance: His relationship in constant communion with the Father. We now have "Peace and good will towards all men." The proclamation at His birth.
He could not change the heart of those who desired to be in charge. "Love does not insist on its own way."
"I can do nothing of myself except what I see the Father doing."

Well that is not true at all Brother Jackson God's 4th commandment is one of the ten commandments. If you break it just like any of the other ten you commit SIN because SIN is the transgression of God's LAW (James 2:11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4). SIN sill keep all who knowingly practice it out of God's Kingdom (Hebrews 6:4-8; 10:26-27; James 2:8-12)

You need to read your bible brother Jackson... God's LAW is written on the heart through FAITH but is demonstrated physically through action. LOVE is the FULFILLING of the LAW in those who walk in the Spirit (Romans 13:8-10; 8:1-4)

Those breaking God's commandments do not know GOD and do NOT have HIS Spirit (1 John 2:3-4; 1 John 3:6-8; Acts 5:32) unless they REPENT and CONFESS their SINS to God and FOLLOW His Word.

Hi OTN,

Not really LOVE is the FULFILLING of God's LAW for those who walk in His Spirit. This is the NEW Covenant (Romans 13:8-10; Romans 8:1-4; Hebrews 8:10-12)

May God bless you as you continue in His Word.

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Brother LGF

just do love and you do all commandment. If you do physical law and No love, you breaking every law.

just do love and you do all commandment. If you do physical law and No love, you breaking every law.
Hello brother Jackson,

John 13:34 is a new commandment to the disciples because no one had ever loved them like Jesus had loved them. v34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. No one ever love them like Jesus had (agape).

You cannot separate LOVE from God's LAW as is it written in Matthew 22:36-40 Jesus is quoting the two great commandments of (1) LOVE to GOD and (2) LOVE to our fellow MAN. Jesus is quoting from the Old Testament scriptures of Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18 which is summing up God's Law and the prophets. the scripture finishes on "ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS.

another example......

Romans 13

8, Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another hath fulfilled the law.
9, For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

and again..........

James 2
8, If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well:
9, But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11, For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

12, So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Brother Jackson, you cannot separate LOVE from God's LAW my friend. It is ONLY through LOVE (the POWER of GOD unto salvation) that we can keep and follow God's LAW and why we need a NEW HEART to LOVE. This is the NEW Covenant. GOD'S LAW written on our hearts to LOVE him like HE first LOVED us. LOVE is the fulfilling of God's LAW in those who walk by FAITH in HIS Spirit (Romans 13:8-10; 8:1-4)

Hello Brother Jackson there is no new LAW it is the same LAW that has always been. We must worship God in spirit and in truth means we must worship God according to His Word. Jesus says my words they are Spirit and they are life (John 6:63) Jesus in the Word (John 1:1-14) and the truth (John 14:6). If we do not follow Jesus according to His Word in truth then we are NOT following HIM who loves all and calls us to follow him in truth... Jesus is the WORD and we must BELIEVE HIM and WALK WITH HIM by FAITH.

God's LAW is FOREVER and this includes the 4th commandment....

The Law of God (10 commandments) which includes the 4th commandment is the work of God (Exodus 32:16) whatsoever God does is forever nothing can be added to it or taken away (Ecclesiastes 3:14). God's Law is perfect converting the soul (Psalms 19:7). It is the very standard of the Old and New Covenants (Exodus 20:1:17, Hebrews 8:10-12). God's Law was spoken by God himself to His people (Exodus 20:1-22). Jesus says Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away (Matthew 25:35). Gods Law is still in force today (Psalms 111:7-8, Revelation 12:17, 14:12, 22:14, 1 John 3:5-8, 1 John 2:3-4 etc.). The Law of God reveals sin to us so we can see ourselves as we truly are sinners in need of a Saviour (Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4). It is the great standard of the judgement (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, James 2:10-12, 1 John 3:4, Acts 17:31). God's Law is our teacher revealing sin and the character of God and brings us to Christ at the foot of the cross that we might be saved by faith by Him who loves us and washed us in His own blood (Galatians 3:24; Revelation 1:5).

We can worship God everyday Brother Jackson but God's 4th commandment says that God wants us to make the 7th DAY of the week a HOLY DAY to do NO WORK and remember GOD and the week of CREATION how he made all things for mankind. This is God's 4th commandment.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten ( Exodus 20:8-11 ) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God ask s us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). WE must BELIEVE God's WORD and FOLLOW him who calls us in LOVE. ONLY the BELIEVERS and FOLLOWERS of GOD'S Word worship God in SPIRIT and in TRUTH.
