Obedience is required both before and after receiving grace. The fact that Jesus says most people will not enter heaven proves that God does not randomly select people to receive grace- He gives it to those who obey Him. “Whosoever will.” It is possible to fall from grace, so you must obey also after receiving it in order to keep it.

Of course it is true. This will be the great white throne judgement of the nations. Separating sheep from goats. Which God was their god. YHWH, or idols of mans imaginations.

This, thats what brings us to love and obedience!!!

Psalms 25:14-18, “The secret of יהוה is with those who fear Him, And He makes His covenant known to them. My eyes are ever toward יהוה, For He brings my feet out of the net. Turn Your face to me, and show me favor, For I am lonely and afflicted. The distresses of my heart have enlarged; Oh, bring me out of my distresses! Look on my affliction and my toil, And forgive all my sins.”

Can we read just a few more verses? Romans 8:5-8?

You are isolating Scripture... What is the Lawof sin and death? To steal or to not steal?

Romans 7:14 For we know that the Law is spiritual; but I was carnal, sold into the power of sin*.

1 John 3:4, "...for sin is the transgression of the Law."

Romans 8:2, “Because through Yahshua Messiah, the Law of the Spirit has set me free from the law of sin and death.”

Romans 8:5-8, "For those who live according to the flesh, set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit, set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against; (bitterly opposed to), YHWH; for it his not subject to the Law of YHWH, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are of the flesh cannot please YHWH."

Romans 7:25, “Thanks be to YHWH, I have deliverance through Yahshua Messiah our King! So then, with this same mind, I myself serve the Law of YHWH, while in the flesh that is yet subject to the law of sin.”

The verses actually flow beautifully together. Again, we have to learn to think differently now. The law., the commandments., the flesh.... all go together. The law of the spirit of life in Christ is better than the law that Mosses brought because it is lived out IN Christ and in the Spirit.

Our old man is gone yet many are still trying to live out their Christian lives in the flesh by following commandments and rules and it isn't working. They are carnally minded as the verse says in Rom.8:5-8 and they are not pleasing God.

Stepping out of the carnal mind and into the new born again spirit man mind is a new thing for us and one that has to be done on a daily basis. We have to replace our old thinking with the new way. Our old man was subject to the law of sin and death. But now we are no longer subject to that (unless we put yourself back under it) that is why so many Christians live weak and beggarly lives.

They are under the impression that God is pleased with them following the commandments of Mosses (touch not., taste not., handle not) when in fact., God is calling them IN Christ to walk in the Spirit and when they do., they will not full fill the lusts of the flesh.

When you walk IN the Spirit you will NOT full fill the lusts of the flesh and you will be in training as to how to see Him in everything and how to combat the old manner of life that taught you how to live before. We learn how NOT to walk by your wits., but instead by the faith of the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us.

1 John 5:2-3, "By this we know that we love the children of Yah, when we love Yah and guard His commands. For this is the love for Yah, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy."

He calls it love, to say anything different is false.

I dont disagree with everything you say,however there seems to be a lack of a big chunk of what is spoken in the wrod and a focus on what makes one feel good. Followers of Yahshua/Jesus follow His words, He says;

Mat 24:35, “Heaven and earth may pass away, but My teachings will not pass away.”

Mat 22:37-40, "Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. (Deut 6:5) This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Lev 19:18) On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

John 14:23-24, "יהושע answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not guard My Words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father Who sent Me.”

Again, we have to see those verses with a view from the cross. We are in the new covenant so those verses mean different things for us. The law is no longer over us like before. The law is the ministry of death because the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God that Jesus gave us the victory!

1 Cor.15:56-58

[SUP]56 [/SUP]The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law: [SUP]57 [/SUP]but thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. [SUP]58 [/SUP]Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not [SUP][a][/SUP]vain in the Lord.

The law told us to do what we could not do and we were condemned every time. But in Christ the law is fulfilled. What the law could not do for us., Christ did!! ALLELUIA

I just looked in the Concordance at the word Law. See all the verses that free us from the law. Christians are told that there is no law against us anymore. The works of the law cannot justify anyone. Faith is the operative word here.

The law fulfilled it's purpose to show us how powerless we are without Christ. We NEED JESUS. Now we HAVE Jesus. So walk in Him.

I believe we have different experiences..

I can not say I obeyed GOD before I received Grace.. I begged and pleaded for help and the Lord appeared.. now for the Glory of GOD and the Lord alone I will say that many things came to pass.. before this dingo was still and listened.. you know when you call out and keep calling never listening for the reply inbetween.. hehe..

Grace for me did not seem to come from my obedience.. I was dead and needed saving .. all I can say is I believed because I called... it was by Grace He came.. and then when born again of the Holy Spirit.. in measure.. GOD increases.. we Grow in Grace and Knowledge of Christ through our Faith.. the desire to love and be like our Master.. obey Him.

So If Obedience Before is Believing.. then indeed.. we each have our different way of waking and realising we are filthy lost sheep and seek the Good Shepherd. So that is Believing we are sinners and lost and Believing there is a Good Shepherd that gives His life for the Redemption of His Flock on Him we call upon.

Anyhow I love to hear how others came to Believe the Gospel... share for the Glory of the Almighty and His Perfect Son our Lord.

We are jumping from topic to topic here. So many truths for us to learn about that help us understand other truths so it all makes wonderful sense. Rightly dividing the Word of truth. We have been crucified with Christ.. Gal.2:20

As a believer we can set our minds on the things of the flesh. In our case., on our own righteousness. We are not talking about blatant sin here as most would consider blatant sin. We are talking about the believer who lives according to the flesh by works of the flesh., and not according to the Spirit by faith. That is carnally minded too. It doesn't always mean stealing., sexual immorality.., lying... etc...

For us it means seeing with our own understanding and not living according to the new manner of live and living. We try to establish our own works to please God and we do it by our flesh by going to church., not lying or stealing or bringing false witness to our neighbor. (all good and right to follow and we should) But they do not establish us in righteousness.

If we continue to try to live according to our own understanding that says the Lord helps those who help themselves... (not in the Bible) Than we are going down a path of self righteousness. The walk of faith says I trust in the finished work of Christ. And work FROM that and not from my own righteousness created by my own works of following the law.

I've been pretty clear on this in the posts before. You don't have to believe this and you can still keep following the law by your flesh... Or you can allow the Spirit to fill you and teach you to walk by faith and so fulfill the law of Christ. We each have to make that choice and it is a huge revelation. It's scary to step out in faith and trust that the work has already been done. That you can actually REST.

Did you know that this is the rest that Hebrews was talking about. There IS A REST for the people of God.
We no longer contend with the flesh. We walk by the Spirit.

This does not by any means make us fruitless. What living in the Spirit does is it means abiding on the Vine which is Christ. Without HIM we can do nothing. It all makes beautiful sense to me. But I realize it took lots of time for me to get here. It sounds too good to be true. But that is the Gospel of grace and truth that Jesus brought us.

Why I love him because he first loved me; my personal testimony of grace and love.

I love sharing my testimony on how I came to know God's Grace and he saved a sinner like me. I have shared this before but I will share it again because I think it shows God's grace to me personally... I had a somewhat different experience in my walk with God than some have, in that I first started seeking God by reading the bible by myself alone, at home and not attending any Church as such.

For me many years ago now, as I continued studying God's Word, I believed that I needed to keep God's Law (10 commandments) for my salvation accepting the life, death and resurrection of out Lord Jesus. I was very exacting in what I believed at the time and tried to be very strict in my observance to obey God's Law. I found after some time that the harder I tried the more I saw myself as a sinner going through a cycle of sinning, confessing and repenting the same old sins, until I was ready to give up in discouragement. I also saw myself on the inside. Sometimes I was outwardly never breaking God's Laws but in my thinking it was not a very nice place to be at all. Where was this love I was supposed to have for others. I knew deep down inside that I did not really love people like Jesus wanted me to.

What now? Reading God's Word Jesus is telling me even if I look on a woman to lust I have already committed adultery applying God's Law to my very thoughts? Ok here I lost all hope..... Condemned as a sinner....... All my righteousness now was as it is plainly to be seen, filthy rags. I have finally given up all hope of trying to keep God's Law. There is finally nothing that I can do to save myself.

It was at this place for the very first time in my life I met Jesus. I could finally see that it was he who died on the cross for my sins and that I was the Chiefest of sinners of whom Christ had come to save! I knew for the very first time in my life that Jesus had come into the world not to save the righteous but bring sinners to repentance. Before I was righteous (in my own eyes) but now I can see myself just how God sees me, sick with sin in need of a Savoir. The Law of God was my schoolmaster that brought me to the cross to meet Jesus for the first time. Here I was at the cross, all undone my complete dependence was no longer on what I could do, but was only on what God's Word says it would do. For the first time I had complete dependence on the Word of God to do what it says it would do and that Jesus was holding out His free gift of salvation to me all he wanted me to do was to believe His Word and it was mine. I saw for the very first time that I love Him because He first loved me.

Now I walk with him. His commandments that brought me to him are no longer his commandments. They are his promises and as I received Jesus I live in Jesus, by faith in his Word to do what it says it will do. Now I obey and follow him because I love him. He has made me free in Him and given me power to walk with him in newness of life. Now I follow the God of creation by faith and dependence on the Word only to do what it says it will do. I love Jesus and His Word. His Words are spirit and they are life! I worship Jesus everyday. I follow His Word by faith and it is he that works in my as I believe His Word. For the very first time I am free in Him, He changes me day by day as I believe His Word. A counterfeit Gospel is out there. It is a Gospel that tries to separate God's 10 commandments from the plan of salvation.

Why is God's Law important to helping someone to have faith in Christ alone?

Because it is only through the Law of God (10 commandments) that any of us have a knowledge of what sin is (1John 3:4; Rom 3:20; 24). If we do away with God's Law we have no knowledge of sin. If we have no knowledge of sin we have no need of a savior. If we have no need of a savior we have no salvation. If we have no salvation we are lost. "For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law." (Rom 2:12).

God's Law shows us that we are sinners in need of a savior. God's Law was given to us that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God (Rom 3:19). It shows us that we are sinners and cannot save ourselves from this disease that we have within us so that we can by Faith lay hold of the promises of God's Words so that Jesus can save us from our sins. Jesus did not come to save the righteous (those that think they do not need saving) but sinners (those that know their need of saving) (Matt 9:12-13; Mark 2:17; Luke 5:32) God's Law has always been part of the true Gospel of Christ. The counterfeit Gospel does not have it. God's forever Law (the 10 commandments) is the foundation of both the Old and the New Covenant and the very foundation and basis of the true Gospel of Christ. It will be the basis of the judgement where we will all be accountable to God.

The Law of God is the only way of showing us who we truly are, sinners in need of a Saviour and in this condition we can see for the first time Him who loved us and washed us in His own blood and by faith only lay hold of the promises of God’s Word. (2Pet 1:4) It is here as we believe God that he changes us from living a life of breaking God's Law to a life of walking with him. It is through the operation of God through Love because he first loved us that we follow Jesus not for salvation but because of love. Love is the fulfilling of God's Law in us who walk not after the flesh (carnal sinful mind) but after the spirit and why Jesus says to his followers, "If you love me keep the commandments" (John 14:15).

People cannot see that this is the operation of God in the believer and assume God's people believe they are saved by their works, when in fact Jesus is saving us from our sins to walk in newness of life in fulfillment of His new Covenant promise (Heb 8:10-12)...... Gods Sheep hear His Voice salvation is from sin and sin is the transgression of God's Law (1John 3:4) whosoever is living in sin has neither seen him nor known him (1John 3:6) ............

Learning and growing and moving on...............

This story is about God's leading me as I was seeking him through His Word. After sometime of reading God's Word the best I knew how and being very new to the bible and the things of God, I came across a bible verse that said; Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). At the time that scripture really made a deep impression on me as it still does today many years latter.

At that point in time I did not have any work and was not very well off. So I knew I had a part to play and that was to seek first above all things God's Kingdom and his righteousness. I did not need to worry about anything else if I was doing this nothing else mattered. Not too far latter I came across another promise in God's Word that said; But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26). This also made a deep impression on me as I was reading it. This was soon followed by other promises in God's Word saying similar things about God promising to be my teacher but everything was conditional on continuing in His Word and seeking him above all things (first). (John 8:31-34; 7:17; 16:13).

So this was something I was living by, everyday seeking God through His Word. As I was reading his Word (praying for God's Spirit for guidance and claiming the promises) I came across other scripture saying not to forsake the assembling of yourselves together (Hebrew 10:25). At the same time I was reading other scriptures of warning saying that in the last days there would be many false prophets and Christs that if possible would deceive God's very elect. (Matthew 24:24; 2 Peter 2:1, etc).

As I was reading all these verses it was like God was showing me something special. Here I was considering going and joining a Church for fellowship and God was telling me how am I ever going to find who the right Church was? When I looked out all I could see was 100's of Church's all professing they are the true Church of God. Not all of them could be right? To me at the time this was the meaning of the Scripture in the last days there shall be many false prophets and teachers to deceive if possible God's very elect....

I prayed to God about this problem of mine. I asked Lord how will I ever find your true Church I do not even know what your truth is...

As I continued in God's Word I believe he was teaching me more and more everyday. To cut a long story short God's Word clearly describes God's people as those that through faith the works by love keep all of God's commandments... Then the light came on for me.... What is the distinguishing feature between all these Churches all professing to know God and his true Church? God's true Church keep ALL of God's commandments through their Faith in God's Word....

99.9% of Christianity have been deceived into worshiping God on the wrong day of the week and are following the pagan day of Sun worship (Sunday) not to mention the other pagan holidays (Easter, Christmas, all Saint's day etc etc). Here was the keys.......

James 2:8-12
If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 9, But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. 10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11, For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.12, So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

1 John 2:3-4

3, And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep <ALL> his commandments. 4, He that saith, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Revelation 12:17
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14:12

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

This is how God has led me in my time seeking Him through His Word. He says to me and everyone of us here today, with an everlasting love have I love thee and with loving kindness have I drawn thee. We love him because he first loved us and with His stripes we are healed and now we follow him because we love him because we cry out in faith, Lord save us we perish. Please forgive me this long post....

May God bless you all as you seek Him through His Word...

SO the Messiah said this and it is true, yet if I said it I would be called a justified by works pharisee...

John/Yahanan 5:28-30, “Do not be astonished at this-for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice, and will come forth. Those who have practiced righteousness will be resurrected in order to live; and those who have practiced wickedness will be resurrected in order to be damned."

Can anyone tell me this is not 100% true?
I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. (John 5:24)

Doing good, as Jesus defines it, is hearing and believing Jesus. Nothing more, nothing less.

“That can’t be it. It’s too simple. There must be some work that God requires from me.”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” (John 6:29)

Want to impress God? Then be impressed with Jesus. Want to do something good with your life? Then drop your cheap sacrifice and marvel at his infinitely sublime one.

Being persuaded that Jesus is who he says he is, and living from that persuasion, is the most productive thing you can do with your life. The seed of God’s word is fruitful. It will grow and bear a harvest all by itself. But we can certainly hinder that process through doubt and unbelief. Trying to make things happen is one of the most destructive things you can do. So don’t do it. Labor to enter His rest., and stay there.

Why I love him because he first loved me; my personal testimony of grace and love.

I love sharing my testimony on how I came to know God's Grace and he saved a sinner like me.

Thank you for sharing my friend.. You articulate for His Glory beautifully...

Taken from Bible commentary

If GOD tells me to jump I hear and believe but jump not... does GOD agree I believed Him? I think not.. you can hear the Messiah but He will conclude our belief through our actions... there is a key word of Do ..

While reading your testimony I said many Amen's!! The only part that needs a major overhaul is the focus on the law. Get away from the law of Mosses and onto the law of faith. You don't need the 10 commandments and the law anymore because you now have the Holy Spirit. He has taken the place of the old school master who taught you how to recognize your sin. Now you have the Holy Spirit to show you how to recognize your right standing in Christ.

Now the Holy Spirit wants to show us our righteousness is in Christ and the Holy Spirit will always point us to Christ and His righteousness and away from us and our old manner of living. We are now righteous in Christ.... not our following the law. We are to be learning how NOT to follow the law for our direction., but how to follow the Holy Spirit for He will lead us into all truth now. By grace through faith.

Your testimony is wonderful but now keep on going and take a step away from the law and go to the grace offered in Christ. The new covenant upholds Christ not the law. The law came by Mosses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. We have the Holy Spirit now and He is to teach us all things.... not the old schoolmaster who showed us our weaknesses. (old schoolmaster has been retired) Now we have the Holy Spirit who shows us that in our weakness we ARE strong in Christ. Looking to Jesus the Author and finisher of our faith.

Yes, it is a bold step to take.... to put behind that old manner of living that tried to be good enough, tried to keep the commandments by our working through our flesh and through our minds we sought to become righteous.

Now we are told to Eph.4:20-23

[SUP]20 [/SUP]But ye did not so learn Christ; [SUP]21 [/SUP]if so be that ye heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus: [SUP]22 [/SUP]that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, that waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit; [SUP]23 [/SUP]and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind, [SUP]24 [/SUP]and put on the new man, [SUP][c][/SUP]that after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.

These are Christians this verse is talking about. They needed to put off the old manner of living they depended on before. And now totally depend on Christ for their right standing. It's a huge step to take. To trust that the Holy Spirit will show us Jesus and in Him doing that., we will be changed into His likeness. Not our own works of righteousness but by learning about Jesus through the Holy Spirit.

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word....

What does the Holy Spirit get to do? You gave His job back over to the law again.

Well that is not true. As shared earlier all we can do without him who loves us is nothing at all. Only those that have faith that works by love know him, because they are in him and he in them. The works they do are not theirs but he who loves in them by the faith they have that works in them by love.

Those that have true faith have the fruit of obedience of God working in them to do and to will of His own good pleasure. They continue in His Word the same way that they first received him and are His disciples indeed and they learn of him who is meek and lowly of heart and the promise is fulfilled in them and you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. They walk by faith that works by love and not be sight. It is God's Word that saves them because they walk in the Spirit and abide in Him who loves all. Obedience is the fruit of this walk by faith and love is the fulfilling of God's Law in those that walk in the Spirit. Abiding in him they do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

For by grace are you saved through faith and not of yourselves it is a gift of God lest any man should boast. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world because God's Word is God's power to those who believe and walk in the Spirit. He bids them come and they walk on water..... If your faith does not work by love that has the fruit of obedience you are still in your sins and do not know him who loves all and must be born again. He that says he knows him and does not keep HIs commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him...........

May God bless you are you seek him through His Word.......
