2 Thessalonians 2:14
Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.

Like JESUS said....fail to believe in him = die in your sins and you cannot be where he is....only one other option........snap, crackle and pop.......

2 Thessalonians 2:14
If one has rejected the Love of the truth of the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ. that person shall have eternity in the Lake of Fire... And that is the ultimate judgement of severity..

The scripture teaches us that, "whatsoever is not of faith is sin." Either you are under "Grace" or the "Law." There must be "oil in the lamp (extra oil for refilling's daily - Matthew 25:1-13)" What caused the lamps to go out in the time of Samuel as a boy, is causing the lamps to go out presently (1 Sam. 3:1-9). The Bible teaches us that many Christians retained the outward show and form of Faith but neglected the true inward life of Faith. The "Law" is a curse.

Remember, Jesus said out of the 10 Virgins (Believers), 5 were wise and 5 became foolish (once a Believer)...their oil was gone.

I really don't feel like stirring the pot this evening, but I cannot let this twisting of the biblical text go unchallenged. The Scripture does not say that the virgins "became foolish" (unless it's in a different translation), that they were "once believers" or that their oil was "gone". They didn't bring any oil; simple as that. They didn't have any to start with. Let's not be reading our assumptions into the story to make it fit a particular soteriology. :)

"Who will commit to your trust the true riches (understanding, etc.)?" Remember, you don't tithe!

Who, indeed

Matthew 11:25-26

At that time Jesus declared, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.

Did little children tithe under the Mosaic Law?
i'm thinking no, because they didn't own fields and livestock.

Interesting

Well, how severe do you consider eternal hell? God counts disbelief the same as disobedience... “And to whom did God swear ‘they will never enter My rest’ if not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter because of their unbelief.” Hebrews 3:18,19

What’s up about the tithe?
I remember this one guy that kept the money purse that Jesus and the disciples had . He was concerned about that money too . Things did not work out too well for him.

Sin of unbelief? Well, if unbelief is a sin then belief must be betraying the faith.

But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

Well, without Christ its impossible to have eternal life.

So the punishment for unbelief is death.
