Hebrews 12:14 sums it up perfectly. Imagine that.

The answer to the first post depends on how you interpret the question. I voted "no" because no human walking the face of the earth can live up to God's standard of holiness. BUT we can overcome our human nature by repenting of our past sins and inviting the Holy Spirit to live in our heart (as per Tourist's post #6). Walk with the Holy Spirit and you can overcome sin.
Sorry this may seem semantic but I don’t think as believers we have to keep inviting the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts.
He is already in us.

We walk with him cause he is in us and yes he helps us to overcome.

Out of curiosity what would your answer be?

Sinner and saint, all go to heaven. Some will depart heaven following their judgment to go into the lake of fire, having not placed their faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ, Who willingly gave His life on the cross of Golgotha, due to His great love for us, that we may be clothed in His righteousness and attain to life ever after on the new Earth, thereby escaping the second death.

Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Scripture does not support the claim above. What it does say is that when those in Christ die, their spirits depart from the bodies and go immediately to be in the presence of the Lord as revealed in Phil.1:23 and 2 Cor.5:6-8

However, when the unsaved die, like the rich man of Lazarus fame, their spirits depart from their bodies and go into Sheol/Hades, which is under the earth, where they will be in torment in flame until they are resurrected out after the millennial period where they will stand before God at the great white throne judgment. - Rev.20:11-15

The unsaved will go to heaven only after the millennial period and that to stand before God to be judged where they will be thrown into the lake of fire where they will be conscious and aware, existing in that state forever. There is no annihilation.

According to your uderstanding of scripture yes, but according to others understanding of scripture no.

One is right and one is wrong.
Will our differences affect our salvation?
I say no?

It is good to discuss as long as it doesn’t lead to fighting each other..

Either way what one thinks let it not detract from being like Jesus to each other and those that God brings into our lives.
For the one person who comes to faith as a result of the Holy Spirit working in us, then that’s one less doubt removed and both doctrinal views negated.

Revelation 21:27
There shall not enter into it any thing defiled, or that worketh abomination or maketh a lie, but they that are written in the book of life of the Lamb.

In a word, "Yes." We are not justified by being holy, we are justified by faith/grace according to Ephesians 2:8,9.

What if heaven is a place on earth, what if heaven is right now, when you are not going through hell, or in hell?
