It's obvious Nehemiah you are a follower of the law. And when you read my posts you condemn me and make false accusations about me because I do not follow the law to be righteous the way you do. I am righteous in Christ. You don't understand how we can be righteous in Christ without working. You don't understand that righteousness is a gift we receive and we cannot have it any other way.

You are the man who continues to malign and misrepresent Christians who don't agree with your works based religion.

• The feeble gospel says you better love God; the mighty gospel declares he surely loves you!
• The feeble gospel preaches God can forgive you; the mighty gospel declares he already has.
• The feeble gospel says you need to get holy; the mighty gospel declares that in Christ you already are.
• The feeble gospel says you are the Lord’s servant; the mighty gospel declares you are his beloved son.
• The feeble gospel points to your badness; the mighty gospel reveals his abounding goodness.
• The feeble gospel preaches turn from sin; the mighty gospel says turn to Jesus and be free from sin.
• The feeble gospel says God will bless you as you do your part; the mighty gospel declares God has blessed you with every blessing in Christ Jesus.
• The feeble gospel drives you with law; the mighty gospel draws you with love.
• The feeble gospel says God gives and takes away; the mighty gospel declares God gives and his gifts are without revocation.
• The feeble gospel says repentance is what we do in response to sin; the mighty gospel says repentance is a response to love.
• The feeble gospel says God can; the mighty gospel says God will and has.
• The feeble gospel says God gives sickness to help you grow; the mighty gospel says he heals all our diseases.
• The feeble gospel says God is counting your sins; the mighty gospel says he has removed them as far as the east from the west.
• The feeble gospel says do something for God; the mighty gospel says look what he’s done for you.
• The feeble gospel says strive to please him; the mighty gospel says strive to enter his rest.
A feeble believer reads this list with a mindset of balance. “God has done his part, now I must do mine.” But a mighty believer insists on Christ alone. “Jesus has done it all, and my part is to rest in his finished work.”
A feeble believer believes a feeble me-centered gospel. “I must produce or perish.” But a mighty believer believes a mighty Christ-centered gospel. “Jesus saves me and keeps me, and he who began a good work in me will carry it on until the day of completion.”
A feeble believer swallows the lies of dead religion without question. “I need a little works insurance.” But a mighty believer has no tolerance for mixture. “Grace plus law equals law. I will not be enslaved again.”
A feeble believer is feeble because they rely on the weakness of their flesh to do that which is impossible. But a mighty believer is mighty because they are relying on a mighty God.
A feeble believer fails because they are walking in the flesh, but a mighty believer cannot lose because they are seated in Christ who is their eternal victory.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

It's human nature I'm talking about and all human nature tries to transgress the commandments of God by their own traditions and or human reasoning about what makes us good and worthy. These are not my stories., they are the issues of our human nature.

We all have a human tendency to try to "be" worthy by doing certain things. The Christian who is starting to succeed in their faith life is the one who sees this and follows the Biblical remedy for the problem... Jesus is our righteousness. We are the righteousness of God IN Christ Jesus. And no other way.
That sounds religious and all, and I’m sure “many” follow your preaching. But Jesus said we “LIVE” by every word of God, not elequant summations from religious people. The foundation of your belief in part, is built on the false teaching that the Mainstream preachers that Jesus rejected were rejected because they were trying to serve God through obedience to His Laws. This is a deception. Every part of your doctrine built on this foundation is corrrupted. If you were to acknowledge the truth about why the Mainstream church of His Time was rejected, your entire understanding of what Grace and repentance means will change. It is my hope you might think about this before you reply.

Here is the same post for you as well studyman. Any "gospel" that tries to uphold the law and right behavior for salvation and approval before God is a false gospel. Gospel means good news and there is no good news in man's century old religion of works. Repentance is having a change of mind from our way of thinking to God's way of thinking. I have a good handle on what grace and repentance is about these days. Some years ago I thought like you do and was in chains about working hard to gain God's approval. But the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ finally came in and showed that it is Jesus and Him alone that makes us righteous and in right standing with God., justified and sanctified all because of Jesus.

Works religion is a feeble gospel just as it has always been. Step over into the new covenant and walk in newness of life in Christ.

We have to take these verses and rightly divide them. We can't simply post verse after verse without studying what they mean using information such as who they were written to and why. (among other things)

We also know that the Bible never contradicts itself so if there is some misunderstanding or something that sounds like a contradiction., the problem is not the Bible but with us not yet understanding. So we study it out using Scripture with Scripture and take our time and learn. And sure enough., the Holy Spirit will show us the proper interpretation.

This is not a cop out of trying to only see the verses as we prefer to see them. No., this clearly keeps us from doing just that. Many people take Bible verses and make a whole religion out of them. Let this not be what any of us do. We must let the Bible interpret the Bible. And it always does and it always will because the Holy Spirit is the teacher when we allow Him to teach us.

Two interpretations for the price of one!

There are two ways to interpret Romans 2:13. The wrong way is, “if you do the law you will be justified.” This is an impossible challenge. Even if by some miracle you were able to keep the whole law from today onwards, how would you account for the sins of your past?

But you don’t have to worry about that because there is no chance you would be able to keep the law anyway. Try and you’re guaranteed to fail. This is because the law has been divinely engineered to stimulate sin (Rms 5:20). If you are a sinner, the law will tell you what not to do and then create a desire to do exactly that! God never gave us the law so that we might know how to behave. He gave it so that we might have knowledge of sin and be silenced by guilt (Rms 3:19-20).

The right way to interpret Paul in Romans 2:13 is, “having the law is not enough, you have to keep it – and none of you can!” It is impossible for imperfect man to deliver a lifetime of perfect performance. Paul is not calling us to attempt the impossible; he’s trying to get us to face reality and admit defeat. There is no hope for those who try to keep the law:

“Therefore, by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight…” (Rms 3:20)

Why is failure the inevitable consequence of trying to do the right thing? Because the law is perfect and we’re not! We’re born sinners on account of first Adam. We’re not sinners because we sin; we sin because we’re operating in unprofitable flesh and living in a corrupt and polluted world! The law doesn’t generate sin, it merely reveals that we have a problem bigger than we can solve.

“…the law came, so that the full power of sin could be seen.” (Rms 5:20 CEV)

But thank God for “last Adam”! Jesus, the man from heaven, is not part of Adam’s sinful race. Jesus was the only one who could keep the law and He did so on our behalf. This was the reason He came:

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law and the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” (Mt 5:17)

Jesus is the Doer of the Law

The Jews thought they were on the inside track because they had the law, but they weren’t keeping it. At their best, they were holding to a watered-down, humanistic version of the law. Jesus fixed that by preaching the pristine standard of the law. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus explained that God requires perfection and nothing less:

“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Mt 5:48)

To those under the law, Jesus preached the perfect law to accentuate imperfect humanity’s need for a perfect Savior. This is the exact same message that Paul preached. Like Jesus, Paul esteemed the law saying it was holy, righteous and good (Rms 7:12). But Paul never said we should try and live by it. If you try to earn favor with God by keeping the 10 Commandments, you’ve straight away broken the first one! No, the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ (Gal 2:24). And if you are honest with your law-keeping religion, this is exactly where you will end up.

Jesus lived under the law, preached the law and ultimately fulfilled all the requirements of the law on our behalf.

“For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” (Rms 8:3-4)

Jesus never broke the law and He never will. So guess what happens when you put your faith in Christ and allow Him to live through you? Without even trying you will find yourself keeping the law. Before you were born again (of the spirit) you sowed to the flesh and reaped corruption. No matter how hard you tried, you could not consistently live right.Your old man just couldn’t do it. But now you have new life – His life – complete with new desires – His desires. You’re no longer trying to become righteous; you have received Him and His righteousness. As you allow Him to express His life through yours, you will find everything you do is righteous because He is the vine and you are bearing His righteous fruit.

Paul said, “the doers of the law shall be justified” knowing full well that no one – except those who are already justified – can do the law. How can imperfect man attain the perfect standard that God demands? He can’t. But Jesus can and has. He became for us wisdom from God – our righteousness, holiness and redemption. And by His perfect sacrifice this High Priest has made us “perfect forever” (Heb 10:14).

Let him who boasts boast in the Lord!

Once again,

It is the Word of God whereby we learn how to live, at least according to the Jesus of the Bible. Every Word as my Lord stated.

I’m sure those whom you quote look and sound good to you, and it is perfectly natural for you to deflect and dismiss when corrected by God’s Word. Cain did, and mankind has been rejecting God’s Word and replacing it with their own from the beginning. This is because like Eve, they are deceived into trusting their own mind over the Word of God/Jesus.

It was difficult for me as well. But all your deflection does not hide the Biblical fact that your preaching, regarding the Mainstream Preachers of Christ’s time, does not reflect what Jesus clearly taught.

Man shall “Live” by Every Word of God, not the Pope or Wesley or Calvin or Luther or any other of the “many” who come in His name.

For me, I trust in the Words of the Jesus of the Bible, I believe in Him, not the Mainstream creation of Him. I believe in what His Word teaches about the preachers He rejected and why He rejected them. Your preaching and Christ’s are not the same on this topic. I thought you might want to know that, but it appears I was mistaken.

Paul also says this;
Romans 2:13, “For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.”
How about a little context. Paul was talking to the Jews (continue to read on in Romans 2:17-24) about their judging of the Gentiles and then points them to their own law (standard of judgment) and hypocrisy and tells them that the doers of the law will be justified before God (v. 13). That leaves them out, along with everyone else (Romans 3:22-28; Galatians 2:16).

The standard they wanted to measure up to was the law. Paul was telling them that the doers of the law will be justified. So, obey the law, *obey all of it, but if you don’t obey all of it, you failed!* He tells them that the Gentiles who didn't have the law according to the knowledge of the Jews were instinctively doing the things of the law (verse 14) and will be judged accordingly. How much more so the Jews?

Paul was showing the self-righteous Jews who judged the Gentiles that they were not able to measure up to the perfect standard of the law. *They were hypocrites. *This is why Paul tells us in the very next chapter in Romans 3:28 that we are justified by faith apart from the works of the law. *No one was able to perfectly obey the law (except for Jesus Christ). *If you fail even once (stumble in one point), then you become guilty of all.

James 2:10, "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all." Galatians 3:10, For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the law, to perform them."

The Jews can be justified before God by keeping the Law, but he or she has to be 100% perfect. *A person can’t fail even once--ever. *But all have failed (Romans 3:23; 6:23), that is why man is justified before God by faith and not by the works of the law (Romans 3:24-28, 4:2-6; 5:1).

Galatians 5:4, “You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.”
The present tense of the word "justified" implies that these Galatians were contemplating justification by the law. They were getting side tracked by legalistic teachers. "You who are trying to be justified by the law have fallen away from grace," but had they fully come to that place yet? Galatians 3:3 reads: Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? The middle voice implies "making yourselves perfect" by means of self effort. The present tense indicates that the action is in progress and that there is still time to correct the error.

In verse 10, we read - I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is. In verse 12, Paul uses hyperbole, As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

You still reject and ignore the Biblical reality of the Levitical Priesthood. Of course you must in order to maintain Mainstream traditions. The Mainstream preachers of Christ’s time and before taught that to be cleansed ( made righteous) you must follow the Levitical “works of the law”. They taught that man could not be made righteous apart from this “added” law. They rejected the true purpose of these ceremonies and the Messiah they foreshadowed. Until you accept this truth, you will never understand Paul.

I am responding to JM’s teaching, or the preaching she trusts of those she copies and pastes from, that the Pharisees were trying to please God by obeying His Laws. Although widely taught by mainstream preachers of today, it is not true just the same. The Pharisees, the Mainstream God of Abraham preaching people of Jesus time, were not trying to serve God by submitting to His Righteousness or instructions, they had created their own righteousness and laws.

This lie that we have been taught for years is in large part the foundation of the Mainstream doctrine of “its impossible to obey God and trying to makes one a Pharisee or as commonly called ”Judaiser”.

At any rate it is false to preach that the Jews or Pharisees were trying to obey God’s Commandments, at least according to Jesus.

in other words, you don't know. well, i'll give it to you- because God is almighty, all powerful, all knowing. If God said or did something at one point in history, he can change it at some other point. He is God. His planet, His creation , His universe,

a lot of people try to use His Book to cast binding spells on the Almighty, saying it is written, so You must.....

that is the main reason why the religious rulers of Christ's time hated him, because he said things like- you have heard it said, but I say to you......

so there you go. you should study that sometime.

multiple times in the O.T. God says he will always have a Levitical priest stand before him. Jesus is now our high priest. he is from the tribe of Judah. do you why studyman?
Jesus is not a levitical priest though.

Jesus is the High Priest of the order of Melchizedek.

Christians are the kingdom of priests now:

Rev 1:6 "And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. "
1 Peter 2:5 "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. "
1 Peter 2:9 "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: "
1 Peter 2:10 "Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. "

I wasnt refuting you, I honestly did not read the OP, which was wrong of me I should have before posting my initial response. I was on my way out the door and was already late. I should have waited. While my post was strong, if one is not guilty of those things they should not havce issue with it but IMO agree, some of those verses were about people who refuse His ways with a stubborn heart. If thats not you then you should not nbe offended, and I did not say anyones name and I was not pointing fingers, simply showing rejection of His ways is wring to everyone who would read.

We love Him becasue He loved us, when He gives us unmerited mercy it should (and does ) make us want to follow Him gives us motivation to follow Him and joy to follow Him.

and yes true love certianly does fulfill the Law. but like anything this can be twisted. There is not a single Law that can be broken and one still be loving Yah and lving their neighbor.

My apologies for any offence I have caused to any who are not in oppisition of Yah's commands, I am very very used to people quoting any verse about mercy or love and using it to ignore the Commands of Yah.

For it is clear;

1 John 5:2-3, "By this we know that we love the children of Yah, when we love Yah and guard His commands. For this is the love for Yah, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy."

Mat 24:12, "And because iniquity will abound, the love of the many will grow cold."

"iniquity" is: #0458 anomia {an-om-ee'-ah} from G0459

Greek Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar)

1) the condition of without law 1a) because ignorant of it1b) because of violating it, 2) contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness

His Law is love, no Law no love.

and I sincerly apologize for any misunderstanding as it was not my intent and I did not accuse anyone, but showed in Scripture some rebel against His ways.

There still is a problem though. When someone posts a thread, and the actual context of what the person posted is ignored. And people just start posting stuff not even related to the thread. What good is there? I am sure you all would not be happy if people did that to you.

We have yet to discuss the context of what I wrote. Why is that?

1) Judaizers haven't believed the Gospel.

2) Mainstream/Traditional Christian beliefs = Believing the Gospel (in context of the arguments of some in this thread) which is why Judaizers use derogation toward these just as Judaizers have always done as seen in Paul's day. Those who have believed are targeted in attempt to sway them from their security in Christ.

3) Pharisees, though much maligned, did in fact try to obey God. To dismiss this truth is short-sighted. Note Paul's own testimony in 1 Timothy 1. They also added traditions as well, in their zeal. The bottom line is the Law nor works can never save a single soul.

4) Judaizers don't preach Christ. They preach self, what they do, and many things, but not Christ.

In refuting these Judaizers, it is all very simple. Those in the NT Scriptures who believed the Gospel unto salvation were not instructed to go learn about the Levitical Priesthood, nor were they told to obey the Law as a help for Christ to save them (which is what is being taught here by the heretics), nor were they instructed to be circumcised or follow Moses teachings, which think about it, this is what the Judaizers are doing here in this thread. Doping all these things would be to fall from grace.

Those examples of true salvation in the NT Scriptures believed and were subsequently saved via the Gospel with for the most part no knowledge of the Levitical Priesthood and with zero adherence to it.

They weren't instructed later to do anything else concerning the salvation of their souls, unless it was the Judaizers telling them this, that they needed to observe certain aspects of Moses' teachings.

For any to come on here and tell us we must understand these things in order to "truly" understand the Gospel (which is really adding works) is to preach a false gospel. That is what is happening in this thread.

Christ is enough, his finished work is enough, and the time we believed and were saved is enough. Those attempting to add to this are heretical neo-Judaizers.

That is really not what Paul was teaching in 1 Timothy. Please note carefully what he says in verse 5.

King James Bible

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and
of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

In plain modern English, what Paul is saying is that the end-result or goal of the commandment is agape love (called charity) out of a pure heart (one which has been born again), and of a good conscience (having repented of one s sins) and of genuine faith in Christ and His finished work of redemption.

So lets look at *the end of the commandment* and whether it means who you have mistakenly suggested, or whether it means something else altogether.

Strong's Concordance
telos: an end, a toll
Original Word: τέλος, ους, τό
Part of Speech: Noun, Neuter
Transliteration: telos
Phonetic Spelling: (tel'-os)
Short Definition: an end, purpose, tax
Definition: (a) an end, (b) event or issue, (c) the principal end, aim, purpose, (d) a tax.HELPS Word-studies
5056 télos (a neuter noun) – properly, consummation (the end-goal, purpose), such as closure with all its results.
[This root (tel-) means "reaching the end (aim)." It is well-illustrated with the old pirate's telescope, unfolding (extending out) one stage at a time to function at full-strength (capacity effectiveness).]

Thayer's Greek Lexicon

STRONGS NT 5056: τέλος

τέλος, τέλους, τό (cf. Curtius, § 238), from Homerdown, the Sept. mostly for קֵץ;

d. the end to which all things relate, the aim, purpose: 1 Timothy 1:5 (often so in philos. from Plato, de rep. 6, p. 494 a. down; cf. Fritzsche on Romans, ii., p. 378).

So in other words, the purpose of the Law (the Ten Commandments) is to display the agape love of God to God and to others. So the Law is indeed for true Christians, worked out by the power of the Holy Spirit through faith and love.
You have it backwards. Jesus said it is in LOVE that the law is fulfilled. He never said it is in the law that love is fulfilled. I doubt paul would contradict jesus.
