After years of ignoring the obvious I am a newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetic with hypertension. It took 6 days in hospital getting my health back on track. I was wondering if this forum might interest some people out there for advice and encouragement or are there forums already out there?

I know I put this in the bible discussion forum without thinking and I don't know how to move it.

The mods can move it no worries. I am not a doctor but I have diabetes although mine requires a shot I think yours can take a pill which is by far easier. My advice to you is to firstly drink lots of fluids preferably water but honestly as long as you put lot of water in your body then you will pee out a lot of the carbs and sugar that you intake.
Also watch out for for both carbs and natural sugar because carbs turn into sugar and natural sugar is still sugar. protein helps to stabilize your blood sugar so it's always good have some of that.

Also here is something I learned the hard way that I was not told, if you eat something before bed it will increase your blood sugar more than normal

I was diagnosed with type two diabetes for over 10 years, then do to finacial problems I could not afford my medication. So I stopped taking lipitor and I was in the hospitol for heart reasons and I told them I was diabetic afte 3 days of blood work and a A1C at 4.1 the doctor told me I did not have diabetes, I stop taking liptor nd my type two biabetes never came back.

These doctor make money pulling drugs that cause you to have to take more drugs, you need to research what you are taking. May the Lord watch over your health.

There are number of health sites, where people can share their experiences and journeys with Type II Diabetes. I’m sure your doctor has given you information about diet and exercise, checking your blood sugar levels, as well as meds like Metaformin or even insulin.

There also may be be sponsored courses you can take. My husband took one when he was diagnosed with pre-diabetes.

As far as Christian support for diabetes, you may have to form your own support group. When I got Rheumatoid Arthritis, eventually I did start a Christian Support group for RA. However, in the end, I found it wasn’t necessary to have Christian support for my illness, but rather support for living was great with other Christians.

this information say fasting for 21 days cure diabetes

i never try, that long, but I was try 17 days, is was lower my blood sugar from 500 to 90 but come back to about 200 after a while. If I have time I will try again.

drink 3 cup warm water in the morning and not eat anything for 30 minute after drink. Also improve a lot

for blood pressure, I try exercise in the sun every day, but very carefull

the first time I do, I fell dizzy and I test my blood pressure, drop to fast

to 69/48. When this happen go to room put ac on. Cold wheather push blood pressure up

So when exercise in the sun bring your blood pressure meter and test after 10 minnute

after few days I can exercise for an hour in the sun without dizzy and blood pressure after exercise about 100 to 140/60 to 80

Before the disease is G-d! I am a type 1 diabetic. I have been diabetic since I was 7 years old so almost 40 years. Now the truth is we, type 1, normally do not get the problem type 2 has because we respect and learn to live with our disease. At 7 I had it ingrained in me if I do not take care of my diabetes I will have a limb chopped off. So I respect my disease. Keep my hemoglobin A1C's at a 6/7 And by the Grace of G-d I do not have any of it's "opathys"... neuropathy, retinopathy, and so on... So my best advise is respect the disease. I have type 2's in my family without limbs. They are arrogant, have lived 30/40 years without it; now they are not. G-d will keep you and He may heal you; He may not. This disease is no respecter of persons every time you have high sugar your cells die. Your body is only cells. A blood sugar above 120 you are killing a piece of your body that is why limbs get cut off. So respect the disease.

I think (From my own experience) that being overweight is the biggest cause of problems with type 2 diabetes.

By keeping your weight at or near what is recommended for your height and frame you will do more to treat your diabetes than all the drugs in the pharmacy. You should definitely take your prescribed meds; but controlling your weight will help even more.

Weight loss is hard but its defiantly worth a go for the OP.

I knew of three people with type 2 who lost weight and now they no longer have it.

hub and I just learned today, by running into the daughter of a friend who has
diabetes and a terrible weight problem - she, herself told us that he freely chooses
to 'eat' what he likes, no matter the consequences...'comfort-food'...

will our 'prayers' be answered for him, most likely not, but we will continue to pray
for him, although he has given-up on his life in this world...

My husband's pre-diabetes, turned into Type II when he got heavy. And it did reverse when he lost weight.

I am overweight, because of prednisone, and the difficulty of keeping active when my RA is flared. It drives him nuts my blood sugar, even after eating a treat, is always around 5.2.

My dad had a thing about sugar. Any kind of sugar. He loved it! He was active, but my mom threatened him if he didn't stop eating so much sugar, he would get diabetes. Well, he never did, died of congestive heart failure, from amylodosis. Probably auto-immune. I must take after him, with all my auto-immune diseases.

One thing that health issues has given me, is that it is a bridge to meet non-Christians, and relate to them. It opens doors to share Jesus. So, I have never closed the door on meeting people in person and on-line with similar diseases. I go to church for fellowship, and I have some good friends here. There is one lady at church with RA, and occasionally we talk about it, but more often we talk about music, because we are both musicians.

Getting sick is not fun! But, God can truly use it for good! And that means be able to meet and share the gospel with people who have the same disease, sometimes!
