I was reading Mark this morning

Jesus said, “ I Am . And you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven. ”
Mark 14:62 NLT

And it said in the footnote that some manuscripts say "The I AM is here..." when Jesus answered them.

Wow

Can you give me more info about those manuscripts?

I am looking into Nestlé Aland 27 and there is nothing like that in manuscript readings.

There is only:
Some manuscript say "You say that I am."

Jesus was answering the question put to Him in verse 61.

Mark 14:61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

This is what Matthew 26:63 states, "But Jesus kept silent, And the high priest said to Him, "I adjure You by the living God, that You tell us whether You (number 1) are the Christ/Messia and (number 2) the Son of God." The high priest Caiaphas is asking Jesus to swear as to His identity. He's asking Jesus two things, are you the Christ and are you the Son of God.

At Luke 22:70 Jesus says, "Yes, I am." Then the high priest reacts by accusing Jesus of blasphemy at Matthew 26:65. The Jews righty understood the claims of Jesus, I say that because the unitarians, jw's and others that deny the deity of Jesus Christ always make the excuse that the Jews did not understand Jesus. I tell them that if the Jews did not understand Jesus, you can't.

He said I am in some translations but you know he is known as the great I am. Something I have alway6s thought about is that even though I am is only two words( or rather a letter and a word) it feels like it has a very profound meaning to it like a lot more than a title

I'm not sure, I'll try and look into it further.

There is recorded in the Gospel of John chapter 8 the words of the Lord Jesus which were addressed to many children of Israel: “When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am” (vs.28). The “I AM” here has the same meaning as the “I AM” found in Exodus 3. Jesus did not say “I was” nor did He say “I am to come”; He said “I AM”—that is to say, “I NOW AM.” He thus indicated that He is God, that He is the God of Now. When the Jews disputed Him on this point by saying “Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?”, the Lord answered with these words: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was born, I am” (vs. 57 & 58).

Upon hearing this statement the Jews took up stones to cast at Him. And why? Because the “I AM” which the Lord uttered here was precisely the same “I AM” He used in the preceding remark recorded in verse 28. Now the Jews fully understood the import of this “I AM”; and hence they took up stones to cast at Him.

On another occasion, at the time when the Jews tried to seize the Lord, they went backward and fell to the ground when He said to them “I am” (John 18:6). For the Lord Jesus is the God “I AM”; and when such a God as this comes forth, men cannot but fall backward to the ground.

He is the Alpha and Omega; He is the "I NOW AM." He is the Great "I AM." Jesus is all and in all...I'm made humble to gather that all in! Praise His Name!

Here's another translation that might be more informative IMO.

Aramaic Bible in Plain English
But Yeshua said to him, “I AM THE LIVING GOD, and you shall behold The Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of Heaven.”

Excellent posts.. May I deviate due to thought... It reads later in the Pilate perceived that the religious leaders were envious of Jesus.

When your envious, you want something that someone has. Was is it that they were so proud of themselves that when someone came who was greater (and they knew it) that they were envious.. Sounds like satan to me.

Sorry, I'm trying to push through thought before I start work lol

indeed, and they couldn't heal the sick or raise the dead, I'd say this as well made them envious, for they knew he was greater, if I'm not mistaking there are bible verses that say many of the Pharisees did believe but out of fear of being rejected and tossed out of the synagogue, they chose not to say anything, they liked their place among the Pharisees.

To be a follower of Jesus is more times than not it's about stepping out of ones comfort zone.

Exodus 3:13-14

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Then Moses said to God, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?” [SUP]14 [/SUP]God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”

Wait for it.

Yes, the Divine name "I AM" is indeed very profound. It tells the world that the one true God is the eternally self-existent one, and in fact it can be translated as "I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE". In the final analysis, no mortal man can fathom God.

Whenever Christ said "I am" it could have legitimately been capitalized throughout the New Testament. He was not merely referring to Himself as Jesus of Nazareth, but as the eternal "I AM" (with the Father and the Holy Spirit). So when we read "I am the Bread of Life", or "I am the Door", or "I am the Good Shepherd", those titles can only be applied to God manifest in the flesh.

That Christ revealed His deity through this "I AM" is clear in several incidents. But one of the most outstanding is this one (John 18:4-8):

4Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?

5
They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am [he]. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

6
As soon then as he had said unto them, I am [he], they went backward, and fell to the ground.

7
Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.

8
Jesus answered, I have told you that I am [he]: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

You will notice that the translators inserted "he" in italics each time Jesus said "I AM". And they should never have done so, since this passage reveals the power of His Divine presence thus: "they went backward, and fell to the ground". Had any mortal man said "I am the one you seek" it would never have had such a devastating impact on anyone. No one would fall backward onto the ground. But when the great I AM spoke, that was the result. Moses was told to take his shoes off in the presence of I AM.
