As we approach the end of the Church Age (the Age of Grace) we see more and more Christians being deceived into thinking that truth is subjective, rather than objective.

Objective truth is of three kinds (1) Divine revelation (2) historical facts, and (3) scientific facts. Divine revelation is simply God’s Truth and Christ’s Truth, regardless of how we “feel” about it, or even if it makes “sense” (humanly speaking).

For example, it makes absolutely no “sense” that God would send His sinless Son into this world to literally become “Sin” for undeserving and ungrateful wretches, so that they might be saved. But that is objective Gospel truth, no matter how illogical and senseless it appears.

Historical facts are historical facts, whether we wish to accept them as true or false. For example Holocaust deniers can deny all they want, but the objective evidence indicates that the Nazis planned to exterminate the Jews in Europe.

As to scientific facts, they are based upon natural laws (which were put in place by God Himself). So we can deny the force of gravity all we wish, but it acts on us whether we agree or disagree with its existence. If someone decides that he will “fly” from a rooftop, the force of gravity will bring him crashing to the ground as an unfortunate “fatality”.

Atheists deny the very existence of God, but that is a purely subjective and foolish notion, since the existence of the universe testifies clearly that there is a Creator, and that the universe exhibits intelligent design. Indeed there is nothing on earth which exists without a “creator” behind it.

However, one would think that Christians at least would love the truth, since the Lord Jesus Christ Himself is THE TRUTH personified. But sadly enough, this is often not the case. Frequently you can show a Christian the exact words of Scripture which prove that he or she is mistaken, but that is of no avail. Truth has become subjective, so Scripture is either rejected or another meaning is applied to it.

Many Christians have been mistakenly taught that large segments of Scripture are purely allegorical. Thus a literal future Millennium is dismissed b many. Some have even gone so far as to assert that the book of Genesis is primarily myths, legends, and fables. There would be no point in trying to convince them that such ideas are totally bogus.

Then we have the Charismatics, who sincerely believe that an experience is worth a thousand words of Scripture. So when Paul says that he would rather speak five intelligible words of prophecy rather than 10,000 unintelligible words in tongues, they just don’t get. They feel Paul was mistaken.

The Bible says
“Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding” (Proverbs 23:23). Are we committed to this teaching, or do we prefer our false notions, our biases, and our prejudices to control our hearts and minds?

I would think that believers are generally grateful for what God has done for us? Or do you mean ungrateful as in before we are actually saved and embrace the Light of Truth?

I was actually referring to the lost world of humanity. Hopefully all Christians embrace the Light of Truth, but we also see much resistance to God's Truth by Christians (and you can check some of the threads for evidence).

The (truth) sadly differs depending on the person and even those who know and believe the truth do not truly know and believe the truth because the enemy has done such a great job of creating such an immense variety if doctrines, beliefs and interpretations. for every denomination there is a hundred different doctrines for every doctrine there is a thousand interpretations of those doctrines and for every interpretation of those doctrines there is a hundred thousand beliefs

However the truth lives inside everyone who is called his child even if that child does not know or even believe the entire truth, if anyone knew and believed the entire truth to perfection they would have to be Jesus Christ himself. we are perfectly imperfect and thus our understanding and knowledge of the truth is in imperfect. I mean can any one of us honestly say that every doctrine we believe and every interpretation of the scriptures is the truth? I know I sure can't

Some ex Mormon, Shaun McCraney, calls Christians who believe in core Christianity "dinosaurs" and "the old vanguard".

Thing is, he holds aberrant theology and keeps pressing it as the truth. And, he claims the Scriptures are corrupted. He denies the Trinity as well, holding a Oneness view.

I know there are tons of younger Christians who will fiercely defend the truth, but I do fear that guys like him will make some inroads into the Church and be fooled by his nonsense.
