How did you come to that conclusion? It seems like the opposite since the fall. People want to enjoy sex but not the responsibility that comes with it.
That we do not see babies born until after the fall. And it would be highly unlikely that Adam and Eve didn't know each other until then.

Agreed. And this kinda makes the point that Adam and Eve did not have children before the fall.

So, you are saying Adam was just shooting blanks up until the time of the fall, and God simply forgot to mention that to them when he told Eve of changing her childbirth to being painful in the future?

Did God tell A&E to be fruitful and multiply, but make it impossible for them to reproduce?

Just a reminder Willie. This is a great, speculative debate. Yeah, in essence, we could say Adam was shooting blanks. Or in essence we could say the womb was not open before the fall.

I think that there was no "change" in Childbirth. It was now the woman's curse. The woman was now going to create physical/biological life and it is going to be painful.

For the right man and right woman what is sex after we have our 2.3 kids? Recreation!

Very true. 99% of sex(between right man and right woman) is for recreation. Satan has counterfeited this to sex for all, with all, whenever and where ever.

Parallel Verses

King James Version
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Darby Bible Translation
To the woman he said, I will greatly increase thy travail and thy pregnancy; with pain thou shalt bear children; and to thy husband shall be thy desire, and he shall rule over thee.

World English Bible
To the woman he said, "I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth. In pain you will bring forth children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."

Young's Literal Translation
Unto the woman He said, 'Multiplying I multiply thy sorrow and thy conception, in sorrow dost thou bear children, and toward thy husband is thy desire, and he doth rule over thee.'
*****************
How do you increase something that couldn't happen? All I see here is that CONCEPTION was also increased...... so maybe, at first, they were only set up to have a child every few years?

This is where I say that there was no conception until the fall. Increase of pain, sorrow and travail in Childbirth? That would indicate that there was at least a small degree of pain, sorrow and travail in childbirth before the fall?

I would be playing fetch with a tyrannosaurus rex. They were created the same week as Adam and Eve... so why not...

Yep, so it looks like the Bible says there was conception (and likely birth) before the fall. Besides, when Cain took a wife and built that city, it had to be for SOMEONE........ He was also afraid of SOMEONE finding him and killing him. I suspect those weren't just his other brothers he was worried about.

I thank you for your insite. I have always believed/known Cain and Abel are not the only children; that is just common sense, it's the two( well plus Seth later) the Bible told us about. But you could be right. One of the great mysteries to ask G-d.

You know, for fun, did Adam and Eve have a belly button.... I LOVE these mysteries of G-d!!!

It will be quite interesting to get the details when we are in the eternal state! I am pretty much tapped out on this one Willie.

You have a great night.

An interesting thought is that "Adam" is not just the name of a single man.... it means "mankind."
