There never seems to be a shortage of trying situations wherein I find myself agitated and losing my cool. My insecurities are my shortcomings as they take my eyes off of the Lord in trusting Him to help me through the ordeal as well as this life.

I am reminded of Job in how he was faithful for the most part in trusting the Lord.

Jesus had chasten His disciples on several occasions for lacking faith.

Jesus praised the widow with the 2 mites for giving all that she had, because she trusted the Lord to still take care of her as He has always have been even being without any money at all to live on for that day or tomorrow.

I know I am not perfect yet but I do acknowledge how much I need Him to even trust in Him for all things.

So the next time any of you are losing your cool, trust the Lord to remind you that you do not need to for He is in control. And when you find that it is hard to do, just pray for help from Him to help you let go. I know I do.

Psalm 34:1I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. [SUP]2 [/SUP]My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Amen! Such beauty for my soul!

Trusting is also a struggle for me at times, which I think is deeply tied to letting go of trying to control the outcome of the situation or the unknown. I am daily laying things at the Feet of Jesus and sometimes hourly, putting my full faith and trust in the Lord that He alone has every detail under control and that I will not receive a stone when what I am asking for is bread. Amen.

Thank you for sharing.

Luke 11:[SUP]9 [/SUP]And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. [SUP]11 [/SUP]If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? [SUP]12 [/SUP]Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? [SUP]13 [/SUP]If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

In context of Luke 11:9-13 which is really about the gospel message of receiving salvation since it parallels Matthew's below:

Matthew 7:[SUP]7 [/SUP]Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:[SUP]8 [/SUP]For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.[SUP] 9 [/SUP]Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?[SUP]10 [/SUP]Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?[SUP]11 [/SUP]If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

There is no asking for the Holy Spirit again because that would be the same as asking for salvation again.

As it is, being always filled since our salvation goes to show we can ask the Lord Jesus Christ for for help so we can follow Him while being witnesses along with the Holy Spirit in us as Spirit-filled that we are saved as promised by the Father.

Romans 8:[SUP]31 [/SUP]What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?[SUP]32 [/SUP]He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Hello Atlanta_GA, and welcome to CC...
Your assertion here does not seem biblically sound. Perhaps you'd care to unpack it?

I do not believe feelings / emotions in and of themselves are of the devil.

I do believe our feelings / emotions are to be kept under control.

Perhaps he meant feelings are of the flesh?

Yet, joy in the Lord is a feeling, and love is of God.

Yes, perhaps I misunderstood. In agreement it would be good to have Atlanta_GA clarify the statement.
