most folks have educated their faith away. universities used to be christian. now the devil has been using them to produce folks who dont believe in God or creation no more. in other words they are producing fools who are professing to be wise.

Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

thats all it is. philosophy and vain deceit. "well why did God do this and that if how when where why not". God chose to do it like things and we are supposed to put our hands to the plow and not look back. we are supposed to roll with the punches and accept reality as it is.

there is a mountain of evidence for the accuracy of the bible, history and archeology.

u came in and said u feared it was pointless to try to reaffirm ur faith by talking to people who claim christianity. BIG MISTAKE! thats ur problem. ur trying to validate christianity thru what we tell u. we are a bunch of nobodys on this forum. we dont know nothing.
if u wanna get ur faith reaffirmed u gotta go to Jesus and stop trying to get it from people and church.

get on ur knees and seek God. go to a quiet place and bow ur head in prayer and stay quiet until the Lord reveals Himself to u.
The Lord will make Himself known to those who seek Him. u cant miss it. its like electricity or warmth.

I'm going to disagree with you here. Nonbelievers tell us that Christians are uneducated flat-earth hicks. We may well be hicks, BUT the most educated people I've known are Christians -- ones with PhDs in all sorts of fields. AND ain't no Christian believes in the flat-earth. That was a non-Christian belief from their scientists back in the Dark Ages.

Don't buy into education makes people stupid. Propaganda makes people stupid. Education gives people information. Intelligence is knowing how to read the facts. My profs, even my high school teachers, loaded the information with propaganda, way back when I was in school. Didn't work. Mom and Dad taught me "think for yourself" before I can remember them teaching me that. That's the difference.

The ranter who started this thread merely made the mistake of thinking no one thinks, so he could pull the wool over our eyes. Fooled himself, since he's got the bail of wool he surrounded himself with still.

You obviously didn't read the entire thread as I did offer an example. I can offer several more, but my sincere questions have been taken as an assault on the religion. I grew up in the church and the intellectually dishonest responses in this thread is the reason that people do not seek knowledge, but simply leave the church. You can feel free to respond, but I'm finished here. I feared it was pointless to try to reaffirm my faith through talking to people who claim Christianity and I was right. Good bye.

This is not necessarily true. Unfortunately there are many people who walk away from the faith. Demas was a fellow laborer with Paul, but he left, having loved the present world. By the end of Paul's life, all those in Asia (minor) had turned away from him. Do you believe that Demas was never saved? Or do you believe that nobody in Asia was "really" saved?

Although I still believe in God, I no longer have faith that the Bible is true or that Jesus is God's son. The fact is that the Bible is corrupted. Even Christan scholars admit this. How can I or anyone believe and apply it when it is not intact? How can we use one corrupted book to confirm another book? How can God create a logical being (humans) and then demand that we suspend our innate logic and believe a corrupted and illogical book as proof of his good will towards his creation and then threaten our afterlife with hell if we don't believe the illogical and corrupted information. Can someone please explain this to me?

I believe the bible to be true and is our guidance to learn about God, grow in His Grace, and to be a "lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path."

The only corruption I see is how man himself has taken the Word of God and twisted it into something God never meant it to be.

The bible is to be read under the leading of the Holy Spirit and not by logic, intelligence but by our spirit uniting with the HS in order for the "Truth" to be revealed.

I go by what is in that holy book and not by what any intellectual, any scholar, etc. tells me.

IMHO Satan would love for the Holy Bible to be considered as corrupt and to place doubts in the minds and hearts of believers in order to spread his lies and misinterpretation.

As usual, this in my own personal belief and opinion but I'm sticking to it.

The Bible is unchanged and “everything in the Scriptures is God’s Word.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
God is in control and we can trust Him that He is responsible for the preservation of His Word.
