if someone? makes a promise to give himself as a servant to the lord, that person may be set free. if anyone who made the vow is too poor to pay the price, the priest will decide how much he can afford to pay. all firsborn already belong to the lord so you cannot promise any of them as a freewill offering. however, anything utterly devoted, what he has unconditionally dedicated, whether human or beast belong permanently to the lord. if you promise an animal fit for sacrifice to the lord, it becomes holy and there is no way to set it free.
