Another thing. We're commanded to also make disciples. How can street preaching make disciples? After they're saved, tell them to find a church and go there? That's why I am leery of this practice. Its more than just presenting the lost the gospel, but also to make disciples.
Sure, why not? As long as it's your church, you know it's good teaching, (assumption you're not hanging out at a stupid church lol), and invite the person to join you, why not?

The missionary friend had good tracts, (taught the basics for coming to Christ), plus included his contact information, and the address of the church he goes to, just in case they'd go to the church, but wouldn't want to call him personally. They could meet up again at church, or not, whatever the receiver wants.

BTW, that's also about 10% of the members of our old church. He is how they found our church, and we were an accepting group, so chances were good, you'd be invited for brunch after service (or potluck dinner, depending which Sunday.) And the invite included we'd pay, so we really did get to know people quickly. Nothing like talking about God and life over some pizza, pancakes, or calamari. (Calamari -- always something interesting to watch people eat, and ask them why in the world would you eat squid when it looks exactly like squid. lol)

I agree with this. However, in bigger cities, it would be harder to remain in contact with ppl. My area is rural, so keeping in contact would not be a problem. But in cities like Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia, Detroit, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, &c, it would be harder to remain in contact.

To me, one-on-one witnessing would be better than just standing on a platform yelling at ppl.
Funny, I keep thinking the burbs and sticks would be a tougher problem, since y'all need a car to get anywhere. What happens when the car breaks down or a blizzard? Here, if your car's not working, walk, or take a bus. Or, call someone, because you're not asking them to drive half an hour away. You're asking them to drive 2-3 extra blocks. Given parking, it's likely you're walking another block or two to church anyway. lol

No, neither of them were.

Peter and his group were having a meeting in a private residence they had rented to get together. And people came to look in the windows to see what they were doing.

Paul went to a specific place the Greeks had set aside as a designated location where philosophers congregated to discuss sociological issues.
Given 3000 people were saved at Pentacost, BIG room. lol

Acts 2:14-41

yup. i believe rural areas is the best place to live. much more peaceful. we need to spread out across the earth like God said. not live in the same spots with most of the country empty

its the devil that makes people wanna all move to the same spot. just like it happened in the tower of babel. now they trying to bring everyone into huge cities with melting pots of languages. big mistake.

lol

I live in Philly. We moved here originally, because more jobs in this city than the burbs, (and hubby already had his job half a mile from us.) Now we're glad we live in the city, because we couldn't maneuver around a whole bunch of land. I can barely manage our 16' X 16' backyard. Added bonus. Can't afford a new car, so when this one breaks down, all that means is we can still get where we need to go -- grocery store, doctor's offices, library, etc. -- for less than it cost to run the car.

Nothing evil going on here. And we all speak the same language -- Philly-talk. Works pretty good, since it's body language and lots of arms movement, and my neighbors are often Italian and can't speak English, but we talk fine together. lol

Matthew 28 is an imperative command and literally states. ..As you are going make disciples......on the street, at work, at the mall, your next door neighbor, what you are doing, when you are doing are all one and the same....as the opportunity arises.....witness the correct message (gospel) to those you have an opportunity with!

I love street preachers like our youth group. Their latest t-shirt says "May I pray for you".

Or like and old friend who often sits on a bench outside the court house reading his Bible. He wears a similar t-shirt.

I agree. But none of that is "Street Preaching." In fact, if the preachers we pay only did that every Sunday morning, we would soon replace them.

if the preachers we have now even knew who Jesus really is the world would be a better place...I once worked at a restaurant and our main plate was chicken fried steak it wasnt that good so the management decided to improve right?so they added two steaks together and called it one ,added more fries to it and a free small baked potato soup call it good right?well most of our clients said why would I want double the food that tastes like s**t ......do we need more preachers you know more than the millions we already have or do we need to go back to our basics and really study the word of God or as Jesus said if we have ears to hear then let us hear

I can sit here and ask people if they know 5 teachings from the word of God and they wouldn't be able to answer.....but if I ask what about teachings from your religious leaders they would answer quickly

Preaching is getting the gospel to those who need to hear it. To me there are two types of street preachers. The ones who spend hours a day condemning "sinners" to Hell, and those who spend their day sharing God's love with the lost.

Those who condemn sinners to Hell have accomplished nothing.

The greatest opening to a lost persons heart is praying with him for his need. When you know the need, you can share the Gospel by fulfilling that need.

Every time you quote Jesus, you are quoting a man preaching to others. They already had the Scriptures — knew them from the age of four or five — Are you saying they didn't need to listen to this preacher, Jesus, but rather, just read their Scriptures? Doesn't the Bible say some are given to be preachers? Then, why bash them for doing that?

Careful, Fella. You are letting your alligator mouth overload your hummingbird butt. 90% of the people I don't even agree with here could easily swamp you with Scripture, in their sleep. I know I could have at even the age of 10 or 12.

he who humbles himself will be praised and he who praises himself will be humbled sir ....I don't mean any harm to anyone im not saying i know it all but i know god does and all im doing is pointing to him instead of religious leaders but if when I speak the truth(jesus) it offends you well guess what mister your not more true than the truth(jesus) so best listen to your only father that is in heaven....and I've been only learning about God about 2 years ago (yeah thats right i grew up most of my life not believing in god)so yeah you probably memorized more scriptures but you know where I learned? from the word of God and what I've heard being taught around the world is not the teachings of God
