What makes a true Christian?
By TRUE definition a TRUE follower of Christ Jesus/Yahshua Messiah.

John/Yahanan 10:16, "And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to My voice. So there will be one flock, one Shepherd."

Matthew 16:24-27, “Then יהושע said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake, and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it. For what is a man profited if he gains all the world, and loses his own life? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his life? For the Son of Aḏam is going to come in the esteem of His Father with His messengers, and then He shall reward each according to his works.”

John/Yahanan 10:27-30, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; neither will any man snatch them out of My hand. My Father, Who gave them to Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand: I and My Father are in accord."

Faith in Jesus who is the Word of God. This is the same WORD and power of creation to make all things NEW if we only have FAITH. He bids us come and we will walk on water.... WHOSOEVER commits SIN is a servant of sin. IT is SIN that will keep all practicing it out of God's KINGDOM. IF the Son (the Word) shall make you free you shall be FREE indeed.

1 John 2
3, And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Clean hands and feet.

I think this is a great answer but I want to dig more.... so you are the one who typed it...

Clean in our eyes or G-d's and is there a difference?

John 13:10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit....

Right from the Lambs mouth.

What does that mean, practically? Scripture transcends all time...

I'm grateful you are playing along... but so many on here think salvation is not just getting Saved but one must keep it or lose it.... So I want to understand fully how a human knows when one can be saved and and when they lose it....

What makes a true Christian?
I remember questioning what a Christian was when age 7. At the church I was born and raised in, Christian females had long hair, never wore slacks, and didn't watch TV. Then I learned, to my shock, that my little friend's family (myfriend who
wore pedal-pushers(!), who cut her hair
(!), whose family had a TV -- shockingly, right in their family room!! -- thought they were Christians, too! I realized right then that I had more to learn about who were and who were not Christians.

I've never been fully satisfied with any answer to this conundrum, because in time, I was told that "Christian" defined people born in the USA, people who go to church once or twice a year, R. Catholics only, people who sin daily in word thought and deed, people who never sin, etc. The term, now as when I was a child, remains very messy.

What makes a true Christian?
Anyone who believes that Jesus is their Lord and Savior and tries to live by the ways that he and his disciples taught in the gospels... (love your neighbor as yourself, forgive others, help those in need, etc...)

A true Christian is one who truly believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, and has committed him/her self into His hands to BE saved from the guilt and power of sin.

Cleansing from guilt is instantaneous. 'Being counted as righteous freely, by his unmerited love, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus' (Rom 3.24).

Being saved from the power of sin takes a lifetime. A man is born again and receives new life, and then experiences the power of God Who works in him to will and do of His good pleasure (Phil 2.13), which he is urged to 'work out' with greatest care.

What makes a true Christian?

Hear
Believe
Repent
Confess Jesus as Lord
Be baptized into Christ
Take up your cross daily and follow Christ
Study the scriptures
Worship God upon the first day of the week in the assembly of the saints
Partake of the Lord’s Supper
Do not use grace as a license to sin
Remain faithful to God until you die

Great post, but I dont see where Sunday is mentioned as a qualifier of being of Messiah Yahshua/Jesus.

Great post, but I dont see where Sunday is mentioned as a qualifier of being of Messiah Yahshua/Jesus.
Under the old covenant, the last day of the week commemorated a finished creation. (Physicality)
Under the new covenant, the first day of the week commemorates a finished redemption. (Spirituality)

Under the old covenant, under the authority of Moses, God’s law was obeyed physically.
Under the new covenant, under the authority of Christ, God’s law is obeyed spiritually.

Saturday represents the old covenant.
Sunday represents the new covenant.

Jesus rose from the grave on a Sunday morning- His resurrection means we can join Him in resurrection. The early church met together daily, but it is often mentioned that upon the first day of the week they did things such as- assembled together, laid by and store (give to God), listened to preaching, partook of the Lord’s Supper in the assembly of the saints- sounds like church to me. Therefore, even though I go to church on other days of the week, the first day of the week is an absolute must.

I don't seek to turn this thread into a Sabbath debate, but there is not a single Scripture that says this. It is simply tradition. Aside from this I honestly enjoyed your post thought it was very true and concise.
