So, so true, the time I spent reading the clutter and intellectualizing, ended up being time wasted, I could have been knowing Jesus much better through His own words and the words of His apostles.

No need for a schema.
That is to bad that you wasted time reading whatever you were reading that did not take you deeper into who the Lord is and how He loves us and how He is the source of our salvation and how totally sinful we are and how holy He is.

The Lord gave is gifts, some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers. He gave these gifts so that we can learn more about Him and His grace and mercy towards us, the Church His bride.

They say "history is written by the victors"

I think much of the theology... is written by people who have attained a position of influence. Which can be fine as long as one is aware of it.

I prefer to read the scripture and listen to fellow believers in my community.

I had an extensive library, gave it all away, best day of my life and my walk with Jesus deepened because I stopped focusing on the intellectuals and focused on my Saviour.

i always wondered what Jesus would think of the fifty thousand "isms" we have today. Jesus would probably be the only one that could keep up with them all.

He’d say Calvinism has it correctly stated.

Just revisiting some of writings lately because of the discussions here, some of his ideas are truly shocking, another gospel indeed.

No. Jesus and Paul would say that Calvinism is "another gospel".

How is this scripture Calvinism?
This scripture is not Calvinist at all, it completely destroys it., that is why I posted it.

I believe in letting scripture stand and not adding to it. I thought about it and first posted a comment with the verse, but thought against it and edited my comment of the post, because it would have taken away from the power of the verse.

Thanks for the comment! Your study shows you to be approved.

It is indeed saddening and is also a cavalier attitude.

So...Spurgeon and the confessing church preached another gospel,interesting....genius insight:confused::confused:

I am sure multitudes would rather read your posts then Spurgeons sermons, or John Murray, or John Owen.......etc.

That is the point, how much He loves me is found in Him, Christ Jesus, not some book written by Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
