Any Bridegroom is a bit lonely until he has his bride.

As a small child I recall either envisioning God's voice over a dark sea saying, "I am lonely."

Nothing more, nothing less.

I remember many things back to the age of three and before, and this seems from before. You tell me, anyone who may have heard the same. It would tickle me pink to hear from you about this.

What a great gift .It can help fill in the lonely gaps.My wife has a similar memory . LOL Its why we or I am in trouble and need prayer as many do. Marriage is the medicine of loneliness not the cure . The cure will come when we get our new bodies.

God bless you.

God obviously created us to reveal himself and his glory to his creation.

Saying God isn't lonely "because he has me?" Well. Hmmmm. I mean. Wow. Unreal.
it was a harmless statement , don't make something out of nothing, you knew what she meant, don't be ignorant.

I believe that God wants to be loved...is that not why He created us in the first place? He IS God after all. He wants to be worshipped and praised. Im sure He felt completely lonely in the flesh when He hung on that cross and felt forsaken...but if you and I are talking to Him everyday, no, I don't believe He is lonely...but I am sure that He awaits the day His children come home!

Yes, because no one truly understands Him.
I mean, the Holy Spirit knows the mind of God. His very thoughts. They obviously communicate with one another, considering the words in Genesis stating "let us make man in our image." So I don't think the Trinity is lonely.

God in His fullness, no, but God emptied (the Lord Jesus in His humanity) certainly did! Psalm 69 (all), Phil 2v5-11, Heb 2v9-18, 4v15.

It is both a philosophical and a theological impossibility for God to feel lonely...
other than the few minutes Christ was on the Cross.

God exists as 3 persons, a trinity.
There is and has always been perfect love and communion within the Godhead.
From eternity past to eternity future, God has perfect fellowship and communion within himself.

God is perfect and complete in all ways; he is not a man... he doesn't have all the frailties we do.

If we want to discuss how ONE PART of the Godhead(Christ) felt during one short period of time (the incarnation), then that's a different issue. But it seems he would still be in perfect fellowship with the father, and thus "not lonely", except during a brief time he spent on the cross.

This is a good example of when we read something each person can interpret it differently (just like with the Word)...

She was talking about her communion with God.

Let me add one more thing to my above post... which probably came off way too cold and analytical.

God CERTAINLY takes pleasure in communion with us.
He CERTAINLY loves us far more than we can understand, and truly enjoys the communion he created us to have with him.

But he just doesn't get lonely.
Lonely is just something he isn't intrinsically capable of.

He is the Alpha and Omega. Creator of the Universe, made everything in 6 days. Mankind sins, yet He still loves them. Time and time again, Mankind sins, yet He loves them. I wonder, does He ever feel lonely. If we were made by His image, and if we were watching the planet like He does, all alone, does He feel alone, does anyone even understand what His feeling??? Let me know your thoughts on this one. Sometimes, I feel like we take our problems to Him, yet we don’t fully understand how His feeling about it all.

Please and Thank you. And God Bless
Well a example maybe like this,

A mother loses her child, even though she is married and her husband is with her and shows her love and never leaves her side, the mother can still feel lonely for she lost a child she dearly loved.

Thank you all for your wonderful posts. I for one, do not think He is lonely, as long as we keep talking, and listening to Him, everyday. Especially, listening. We tend to always take our problems to Him, and yes, He does want that, but, He also wants us to listen to Him, to better our lives for the future. Some may say that they understand Him, but, no one truly understands what God is thinking. Just do the right thing, and pray everyday to Him for guidance. He wants us to go to Him. Does He feel lonely tho??? Not yet....what I mean about that is that, there will come a day, where He will stop listening. (Revelations) So please brothers and sisters, keep talking and listening to Him. He loves that.

thank you and God Bless

My dear friend. When you are the Lord Almighty, sitting on the Throne, being the King of the Universe, creator of the Galaxies, He seeks one to listen to Him speak. We sometimes forget that God can speak. What I mean about that is that, our prayers are beautiful, He loves it. But take the time to listen to Him. There are billions of people on this plant. There are those few chosen with the gift to listen to Him speak. God gets frustrated too, LOL.

Thank you for your question. God Bless

If God created man because he was lonely, then he must also be the first fool.

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

I don’t think so.. we are not the only Creation.. The angels of GOD rejoice when sinners repent..

We are here awaiting the King’s return.. so much going on that we can not contemplate..

GOD is love... but revere Him.. for there is an evil rebellion and order will be restored.

God said he knew Jeremiah before he was brought forth from the womb.....look the word knew up.....and then ponder the word for a while....then look up the verse that states clearly that the spirit man has returns unto God that gave it.....then ponder that with the verse about Jeremiah....

Its written we were created for His pleasure . In as much as we're created in like image, to Love God as many scriptures say, God Himself knows Love and thus loneliness . Hes going to great lengths of patience, and plans to salvage us from the fire . If he did not value us, we would have been destroyed a long time ago. But John 3:16 ...

I think He created people not because He was lonely, but because He is pure love and love seeks to give.
I believe that you are absolutely correct. In the book of John it says that God is Love. I don't see how that's possible unless there are those that God created to love.
Wow you really think God needs man, that is a gross misunderstanding of God's love and Him being love. God was not lonely and did not need to create man to show His love. The fact the God is love shows that He is a God that is one that loves, is loved and receives love. The Father loves the Son and the Spirit is the fellowship or bond of the love of God, it reveals that God was never alone in eternity. Other wise He could not be love, because love has to have a recipient of that love, a lover that loves that recipient of His love and the bond or fellowship of His love.

What is really sad is this is how many people think about God that He somehow needs man to fulfill His exsists and that is not Christianity, it is more of some type of eastern religion and if it is not, it is more heathen that Chirstianity. But this fits with the modern idea of Chirstianity, that man rules salvation and if man does not make the attempt to reach God that it will not happen, which violates Psalm 3:8

“Salvation belongs to the Lord; your blessing be on your people! Selah

The Lord controls salvation and it's blessing is on His people, the people He has chosen to be His people. I know that is not fair, thanks the Lord He is not fair. Because if He was we would all go to hell for eterity and He would be totally just in sending all of us to eternal judgement. But because of God being a God of love, He would never send anyone to eternal judgement or it's fire outs that never dies, it is just a metaphor and He will annihilate those that did not obey, because He loves all mankind.

We are all responsible for our growth in Christ and if the Church we are going to is not teach the truth of the Lord's attribute of holiness, His righteousness jusgement, His omniscients and His justice. Here were many like to make a turn and avoid this part or attribute of the Lord because they know that the Lord's justice demands that sinful man be judged for their sins.
