WRONG

"La Austrialia del Espiritu Santo"

Even though Captain Quiros had landed on an island in Vanuatu he thought that he had arrived
at the great unknown land of the south and thus
In the year 1606 Capt. Pedro Fernandez de Quiros gave the name “Australia del Espiritu Santo”
or literally “Southland of the Holy Spirit”.

In fact de Quiros’s actual proclamation was as follows:
“Let the heavens, the earth, the waters with all their creatures and all those present witness that I, Captain Pedro Fernandez de Quiros…..in the name of Jesus Christ ...... hoist this emblem of the Holy Cross on which His (Jesus Christ’s) person was crucified and whereon He gave His life for the ransom and remedy of all the human race….
on this Day of Pentecost, 14 May 1606….. I, take possession of all this part of the South as far as
the pole in the name of Jesus….
Which from now on shall be called the Southern land of the Holy Ghost.

Hmmmm ? OK then the earth is not cursed and we do walk by sight as if his kingdom does come by observation. Can't serve two masters . (one) The things we see and (two) that not seen .Can we ?

The Pharisees like those who claim some sort of Pentecostal faith were required to walk by sight before they would believe. They stumbled over the cross.

Luke 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

I love Australia spent three weeks . But no matter where we go as that seen there we are. No matter where the Holy Spirit not seen goes there he is.

2Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

Hello garee.,
Not sure what you are trying to say here? Is it that you believe Jesus is not near? If so., did you know that Jesus is touched with the "feeling" of our infirmities? That He became a man so we could know He knows what it's like to be men? That He understands that it's like to be 'us' in the flesh. For better reasons than we know., He thought it important to identify with us as men.

But He doesn't leave us there. He says to no longer look at ourselves or others merely according to the flesh. We are supposed to see ourselves IN Him now righteous and holy and in the Spirit. And now we are to walk IN the Spirit. We are to look at others not as they are., merely in their flesh., but as they are IN God's sight., righteous and holy and set apart for His use.

Love our fellow man and seek their salvation as God does. Love our brothers and sisters in Christ and see them perfect as Christ sees us and as we are to be learning to see us and others. In His sight.

[SUP]15 [/SUP]And He died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Consequently, from now on we estimate and regard no one from a [purely] human point of view [in terms of natural standards of value]. [No] even though we once did estimate Christ from a human viewpoint and as a man, yet now [we have such knowledge of Him that] we know Him no longer [in terms of the flesh].
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

The Holy Spirit also convicts us believers of our righteousness in Christ. He doesn't convict the believer of sinfulness because the believer daily needs to be reminded of his righteousness in Christ so as not to be condemned with the world. He wants us to daily know this and walk in His righteousness. Romans 8:1-2 John 16:8

[SUP]7 [/SUP]However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment:
[SUP]
9 [/SUP]About sin, because they do not believe in Me [trust in, rely on, and adhere to Me];
[SUP]
10 [/SUP]About righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God), because I go to My Father, and you will see Me no longer;
[SUP]
11 [/SUP]About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world [Satan] is judged and condemned and sentence already is passed upon him.
[SUP]
12 [/SUP]I have still many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them or to take them upon you or to grasp them now.
[SUP]
13 [/SUP]But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].

This is very encouraging because the Holy Spirit comes and convicts differently to different people.. And it is broken down in the above verses.

Verse 9 talks about sin and that He is convicting the unbelievers of sin and a need for the Savior.. Verse 10 He convicts believers of righteousness., we are IN Christ and we are upright in heart and right standing with God IN Christ . Verse 11 He convicts about coming judgement coming to the enemy and those who are condemned already. (without Jesus)

Many Christians need to know that should they feel condemned, it is not the Holy Spirit doing the condemning. It is the world, flesh and devil that condemns of sin. The Holy Spirit points the Christian to Christ and the righteous standing we have IN Christ so that we know we are not condemned. Romans 8:1-2

That verse is taken out of context. What Paul was talking about was how all will bow at the name of Jesus and confess that Jesus is Lord. There is definitely power in the name of Jesus. Jesus is powerful and he is King. Christ is our mediator and his blood cleanses us from sin. God has exalted him and his name and answers many prayers spoken in Jesus name. The name of Jesus is so precious, exalted, and holy because Jesus is precious, exalted, and holy. And Jesus is Lord and though he is Lord, he still came for us because of his love.

The name of Jesus should not be abused. In some cases, that may be happening. Others may have a deep respect in speaking his name to command some sort of sickeness, small or big to leave. If someone is commanding a sickness to be gone in Jesus name, whether big or small, if that person is showing a deep respect for Jesus name, not using his name lightly, and really believes that God wants him/her to do it, and there is no question of conscience in the heart, I don't have a problem with it.

YOUR PROBLEM MUST BOW TO JESUS’ NAME[/h][HR][/HR]
Whatever is troubling you, if it has a name, it must bow to the name of Jesus! Cancer must bow to the name of Jesus. Poverty must bow. Shame must bow. The Bible tells us that God has highly exalted Jesus and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee must bow!

That is exactly what happened when a severely demon-possessed man saw Jesus. The demons in him—called Legion for there were many of them—not only begged Jesus not to torment them, but they also fled when Jesus commanded them to go. The man was left whole, healed and in his right mind. (Luke 8:26–35)

My late father was similarly delivered from his drinking addiction of many years. I remember how he was in a drunken stupor one day. I prayed over him in Jesus’ name for him to be loosed from his addiction to alcohol. He threw up violently soon after that and from that moment on, he never touched the bottle again!

Beloved, if your child is sick, lay hands on him and say, “In Jesus’ name, cough, stop. Fever, go in Jesus’ name. Health flows in your body in Jesus’ name!” If there is strife and confusion at home, deal with it the same way. I have used the name of Jesus as I prayed for a couple who were quarrelling in a food center. It was amazing. All the strife between them seemed to melt away and they started to talk calmly after that.

That is the power of the name of Jesus because that is the name of the one who died for you, who rose again and today is at the right hand of God, for you! That is the name which is above every name, and at which every knee must and will bow!

That He became a man so we could know He knows what it's like to be men? That He understands that it's like to be 'us' in the flesh.

Hi thanks for the reply. Yes love is the answer. Love does not rejoice with wrong doing. (walking by sight the subject matter.)

The Son of man did find out what it means to suffer as a man. But that was not His goal to know what things feel like .He came as a one-time demonstration of things of God not seen, to bring the spiritual understanding the gospel , the faith principle using that seen as a parable to give the eternal .

What was trying to say is the Kingdom of God does not come by observation...We walk by faith and not by sight even when Christ was here as the Son of man he resisted all attempts of worship in respect to his temporal flesh.

The person I was sharing with had offered an oral tradition of some person that isolated the Holy Spirit to a certain location. And calls that Pentecostal faith, which is not faith but walking by sight in a hope of an outward sign before one will commit faith .

Signs and wonders are for those who rebel. Faith for those who believe, the prophecy, scripture.

Jesus says it’s an evil generation, the generation of natural converted men who do seek after that kind of gospel.(He is over here, no he is there..no I just made some noises with my tongue or wait I just got wet as evidence he was here. etc)

He sits enthroned on the circle of this world and is not limited by time or space. He does not dwell in Australia anymore that he dwells in the whole universe.

God is supernatural, no nature as a beginnig. Its men that desire to give him a beginning, giving him natures . Catholicism is founded on a hope that his flesh and blood what the eyes see could profit for salvation.

God is not a man as us.(never was never could be) The Son of God, as the eternal Holy Spirit of God in respect to the Son of man ,Jesus, put on the temporal corrupted flesh of man for a one time demonstration of the Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the world. (the six days he did the work resting on the seventh, our eternal rest )

He did not put on flesh to see what it feels like to live in a body of death. But sent his Son in the likeness of sinful flesh (it aged in a process of decay leading back to the dust it was formed from as an one time outward demonstration which was needed to condemn that seen, the whole corrupted dying world we live in. Coming as a theophany, a vision as he did at other times would not suffice. The substance of flesh was needed to put away flesh .Flesh and blood will not be part of the new order. It cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

The Holy Spirit also convicts us believers of our righteousness in Christ. He doesn't convict the believer of sinfulness because the believer daily needs to be reminded of his righteousness in Christ so as not to be condemned with the world. He wants us to daily know this and walk in His righteousness. Romans 8:1-2 John 16:8
Yes we do need to be reminded of our daily sin. If he does not convict us of sin as part of the gospel seasoned with salt,( salt speaks of judgement ) then he has no part in us. He must wash or feet with the gospel. Part of that comes when he does rebuke the brethren for following the wrong manner of spirit walking by sight. not mixing what they did hear or see with faith (the unseen spiritual understanding.

Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:Of sin, because they believe not on me; Joh 16:7

Don't know how you get from that scripture to " Cancer must bow to the name of Jesus. Poverty must bow. Shame must bow."

The verse simply and literally states that ".....every KNEE to bow....."

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is
God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.Do all things without murmurings and disputings Phi 2:10-14

He does not need men who he has not moved by his work of faith to bow down . They simply die and will not be raised to new spirit life. He is a God of mercy and is not merciless in so much that he would rub it in that they were not chosen to do his good pleasure..

Three things bow down .Get under the authority of that not seen.

I think the phrase “bow the knee” must first be defined. By looking at other portions it would seem to mean get under the authority of the work of another person’s faith .

Romans 11:4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

In heaven(Phi 2:10 ) it would be the angels that did not leave their first place of habitation. In earth, it would represent those on earth reigning with Christ . Under the earth, those who are part of the first resurrection and are asleep . They make up the every tongue. Why? Because they are the ones he is working his imputed righteousness in them that both wills and performs his good pleasure .

Those who do not know Christ will not bow down under his authority but like the example in Roman 11:4 they pledged their allegiance according to another, manner of spirit, bowing down to the image of Baal, bowing down to the father of lie's good pleasure and denying Christ in unbelief.

Good morning Cherie., If you are talking about unbelievers using the name of Jesus in a cavalier and even despicable way yes., I agree with you. But for myself., I can't use His name enough in my day. For all that happens to me for good I thank God in the name of Jesus. For the things that seek to harm me., I run to God for refuge in the name of Jesus. For the wisdom I need to make decisions about life each day., it's done in the name of Jesus.

He is the source for everything we need. These truths about Jesus are so obvious to me but maybe when I share them they are not so obvious to some of the people here on CC?

Colossians 1:15-23 But specifically vs.16-18
[SUP]16 [/SUP]For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together).
[SUP]18 [/SUP]He also is the Head of [His] body, the church; seeing He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from among the dead, so that He alone in everything and in every respect might occupy the chief place [stand first and be preeminent].
[SUP]

15 [/SUP][Now] He is the [SUP][a][/SUP]exact likeness of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible]; He is the Firstborn of all creation.

19 [/SUP]For it has pleased [the Father] that all the divine fullness (the sum total of the divine perfection, powers, and attributes) should dwell in Him [SUP][b][/SUP]permanently.

I'm so thankful that this is true. All my problems will bow to the name of Jesus and I've seen each one ultimately fall and are on the way to falling. It is a process as we walk through each situation in life and see each issue and problem eventually be demolished.

While looking forward to the coming year I look forward to seeing more of Jesus in my life. Look forward to seeing more problems that were once monumental be demolished at the name of Jesus. In the past year I've seen Him take problems and wipe them away. I've also seen Him use those things to show me the need to look to Jesus all the more and that when we seek Him we will find Him. He is faithful to His Word and His promises.

Because of the love and grace of God in Christ we can claim those promises because Jesus died to pay for each one. The Bible says God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. I've seen Him be faithful to these promises and watched many of my fears and wrong thinking fall at the feet of Jesus.

He is always faithful to do what He promises as we follow Him trusting He is willing and able to do what He says He will do and believing what He says He has already done. Staying the course., allowing the Word to take root in our hearts and not fainting is what He calls us to do. 2 Tim.1:7-9

[SUP]7 [/SUP]For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]Do not blush or be ashamed then, to testify to and for our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for His sake, but [[SUP][a][/SUP]with me] take your share of the suffering [to which the preaching] of the Gospel [may expose you, and do it] in the power of God.
[SUP]
9 [/SUP][For it is He] Who delivered and saved us and called us with a calling in itself holy and leading to holiness [to a life of consecration, a vocation of holiness]; [He did it] not because of anything of merit that we have done, but because of and to further His own purpose and grace (unmerited favor) which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began [eternal ages ago].

Titus 2:11-14
[SUP]11 [/SUP]For the grace of God (His unmerited favor and blessing) has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind.[SUP]

12 [/SUP]It has trained us to reject and renounce all ungodliness (irreligion) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, self-controlled), upright, devout (spiritually whole) lives in this present world,
[SUP]
13 [/SUP]Awaiting and looking for the [fulfillment, the realization of our] blessed hope, even the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One),
[SUP]
14 [/SUP]Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us (purchase our freedom) from all iniquity and purify for Himself a people [to be peculiarly His own, people who are] eager and enthusiastic about [living a life that is good and filled with] beneficial deeds.

Good Morning Bladerunner., I will re post my 1st post in response to this devotional and why I wanted to share the thoughts about Jesus name. And why everything in heaven and on earth has to submit to His name. And why in my life., I know it is impossible to function outside of His name and His love and power in my life. Everything is under His feet and by faith I also believe He has put each problem I go through under my feet as I walk out the faith He has given. This is a daily process as has been stated in this thread.

I encourage you to read the posts so you can see the context given about what I said and believe in the name of Jesus.

That's what happens when you quote a preacher that constantly teaches eisegesis with scripture.

With eisegesis, you can teach anything you want.;)

If WOF was true, how come faithful christians are in the hospital dying? How come some of our best christian leaders are dying of heart attacks, strokes, & cancer?

There are different ideas of what the definition of "Word Of Faith" means. I do not think all who believe in healing in the Atonement are the same Word of Faith believers. Just like Baptists and other Christian denominations there are many I do not agree with and many I do agree with.

But this is not about me as some here continually try to put the focus., it's about the truth and we each should seek to put it out there as we have been taught and assured by the Holy Spirit and the Bible.

As far as healing., we have touched on it here in the posts before this one. But have not focused on that topic exclusively. I believe just as we each have been given power and love and a sound mind and many other wonderful things at the time of our salvation., (sozo) we are called to work out by faith what Christ has worked in us. We will be continually working out the sound mind we have been given but we are not yet perfectly functioning at all times in a sound mind. Our old habits get in the way., our old thinking still needs to be dismantled and in it's place., the mind of Christ.

Working "out" our salvation is not working for it but working "from" it. We do this with determination and seriousness of mind not trusting in ourselves and what we think.,but in Jesus. We have this treasure in earthen vessels.

Phil.2:12

[SUP]12 [/SUP]Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed [my suggestions], so now, not only [with the enthusiasm you would show] in my presence but much more because I am absent, work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, [SUP][a][/SUP]with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ).

Healing is another one of those things we work out by faith. 2 Tim.1:7

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

We each have been called.,we each have the Holy Spirit in us and He leads us each into all truth as we hear the Word and submit (individually) to the truth and grow in faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

[SUP]6 [/SUP]That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [[SUP][b][/SUP]with those of the elders at your ordination].
[SUP]
7 [/SUP]For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

8 [/SUP]Do not blush or be ashamed then, to testify to and for our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for His sake, but [[SUP][c][/SUP]with me] take your share of the suffering [to which the preaching] of the Gospel [may expose you, and do it] in the power of God.
