Been reading about prayer. The book I read said a good prayer life is one where you are in communion with God. What does this look like? Is it a process? Is it just prayer? A relationship? I'm not looking for a right/wrong answer. just some insight I guess. (The book didn't expand on this just continued it's focus on prayer.)

Well for me prayer used to be really difficult it felt like I was just talking to air and being a writer at heart I decided to write all my prayers to him in a journal. This made it much easier for me I began to feel a connection as I wrote to him and eventually I could not get enough of it I wrote to him all the time and we began to talk like we were best friends he was my own personal journal we spoke about all kinds of things and a bond began to form just from talking with each other. Eventually i was able to speak with him normally without having to write and to this day he and I are constantly chatting . whether things are good or bad whether it's just talking about something I am thinking about or asking for guidance for me communion with him is like that.

communion

to commune, the act of communing.

communication. community. communal.

yes that's a process, as in it is something that takes place over time. and it's a relationship - a way in which one has expression

God said this is my Beloved Son whom I Am pleased. Notice, He never said that about you or I, or any human being. This is why the only way to please God is by exhibiting Faith and maintaining it 24/7 in His Beloved Son Jesus and His Finished Work at Calvary's Cross. Failure to live this way the light goes out because there is no oil.

2 Chronicles 7:14 King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP]
If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We have entered a time when level one problems will not be able to be solve with level one thinking. The only answer to sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil that brings Grace for solutions and deliverance, is Faith placed exclusively in Jesus Christ and His Finished Work. This is the only way to solve this chaos, get answers and for the Lord to rebuke the devourer. This is victory over the sin, the world, the flesh, and the devil.

The Way Of The Spirit
Focus: The Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6)

Object Of Faith: The Cross of Christ (Romans 6:1-14)

Power Source: The Holy Spirit (Romans 8:1-2, 11)

Results: Victory (Romans 6:14)

Man's Way
Focus: Works.
Object Of Faith: Performance.
Power Source: Self.
Results: Defeat!

The only way to God is through Jesus Christ (John 14:6)...the only way to Jesus Christ is by the Means of the Cross (Luke 14:27). The only way to the Cross is a denial of self (Luke 9:23). If any person tries to come any other way, Jesus says, "they are a thief and a robber" (John 10:1).

1. Jesus Christ is the source of all blessings.
2. The Cross is the means by which all blessings are given.
3. The object of our faith must be Christ and the Cross.
4. That being done, the Holy Spirit will greatly help us.

The best way to look at it is "Do we let God have communion with us?".

That means to listen in prayer as much as you talk to Him. To read the scripture knowing that the Holy Spirit will open up deeper understanding in a personal way as you meditate on the Word. To spend some time each day asking the Lord what He would like to say to you, and then let the thoughts come - they will. He speaks if we but listen.

To develop a relationship with God we must obey His word. the book of Romans states in about the 10th chapter that faith comes by hearing the word of God. Start in the book of Acts and discover how they did it. Acts 2:38 Peter said, do this and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. look at Acts the 8th and the 10th and the 19th chapter. In the book of Acts they all believed, but they did not have the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is a separate operation of God notice what happened when they received the Holy Ghost.

Question? How can a born again Christian obey the Word of God while still being in the flesh?

Jesus Christ declared He is the Bread from Heaven.
Man shall not live on bread alone (the kind from the oven) but
on every word that proceeds from the Mouth of God.

If we live by every Word He speaks we are communing.

Jesus Christ gave us each His life, that is His Blood, for it is written "life is in the Blood." Therefor if after receiving Jesus as
our Lord and Savior we do our best to live as He did, his life, we are communing.

The ritual is just a reminder to do this.

PS....transmutation? A lot of bunk, or, an excuse for cannibalism.

Hi MariaJoy., The Bible says if we have Jesus we have life. So that is the first and foremost thing we need to have communion with God. In Christ we have all that is required to be accepted and heard. It's a relationship based on Jesus Christ and His payment for our free access to God at all times. We come by faith in this provision knowing He hears us because of Jesus.

[SUP]22 [/SUP]Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by [SUP][a][/SUP]that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.

It is a relationship based on all that Jesus has provided and our faith in that provision. We don't go in our own righteousness., (right standing) we always can go in the righteousness Jesus gave us as a gift at the time we were saved and received Jesus.
As we learn about Jesus we see the Father. Jesus said if you have seen me you have seen the Father.

As we grow in this relationship He will lead us into more truth because He has given us the Holy Spirit to guide., teach and comfort us and convict us of our position as sons and daughters in Christ.

Hebrews 10:14
[SUP]14 [/SUP]For by a single offering He has forever completely cleansed and perfected those who are consecrated and made holy.[SUP]
15 [/SUP]And also the Holy Spirit adds His testimony to us [in confirmation of this]. For having said,
[SUP]
16 [/SUP]This is the agreement (testament, covenant) that I will set up and conclude with them after those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their hearts, and I will inscribe them on their minds (on their inmost thoughts and understanding),

[SUP]17 [/SUP]He then goes on to say, And their sins and their lawbreaking I will remember no more.
[SUP]
18 [/SUP]Now where there is absolute remission (forgiveness and cancellation of the penalty) of these [sins and lawbreaking], there is no longer any offering made to atone for sin.
[SUP]
19 [/SUP]Therefore, brethren, since we have full freedom and confidence to enter into the [Holy of] Holies [by the power and virtue] in the blood of Jesus,
[SUP]
20 [/SUP]By this fresh (new) and living way which He initiated and dedicated and opened for us through the separating curtain (veil of the Holy of Holies), that is, through His flesh,

[SUP]21 [/SUP]And since we have [such] a great and wonderful and noble Priest [Who rules] over the house of God,
[SUP]
22 [/SUP]Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by [SUP][a][/SUP]that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.
[SUP]
23 [/SUP]So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the [SUP][b][/SUP]hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word.

I find that the more I "commune" with God, the more I "commune" with God. In my walk as a Christian God is always there. The question is am I listening to Him or not? The more I listen to Him the more I hear Him. I pray, journal, read and sometimes when I stop trying so hard and just let it flow the communication is enough to bring tears to my eyes. I hope this doesn't sound too hippyish but I guess I am saying that when I went from trying to hear God to simply believing He was always here I started hearing from Him more often.

Not sure if there is an answer to the question in there but happy new year anyways!:)

Amen Fisnookman7., The more we learn the more we believe the more we see., the more believe the more we learn the more we see., and on it goes. We fill our minds with Jesus and read His word and hear the truth and the Holy Spirit keeps flowing in us those rivers of living water.

Jesus said in John 7:38
[SUP]38 [/SUP]He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.

You're no hippie brother. You're seeing Jesus more each day and believing on Jesus and cleaving and trusting and relying on Jesus and as the Scripture says from your innermost being is flowing those wells, rivers are flowing continuously of living water from the Holy Spirit that was given to us to comfort...guide.. direct and convict us of our righteousness in Christ. Amen!

Happy New Year too you too! It's going to be an amazing and blessed year!!!

Personally, daily I pray & try to listen to God = communicate

In addition to daily prayer I read scripture = wash in the word

Weekly (sometimes more often) I commune with God, at the Lords Supper

Jesus gave this ordinance Mark 14:22 & Luke 22:19

Everyone understands the sin removing significance of Christ's spilled blood.

Discerning his body is just as important for our physical health

Pay special attention to Matt 8:17; it accentuate's why His Body was Broken

Matthew 8:17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities & """bore our diseases"""

In the Lord's Supper we "Remember" the past. The covenant that brings us the forgiveness of sins was ratified, or "cut" by the shedding of Jesus sinless blood & the breaking of Jesus sinless body.

"Remembrance" itself is a covenantal word. In the Lord's Supper we "Remember" that our blessings were purchased through a costly price.

Generally when we go to REMEMBER the death of a fallen soldier, a family member or loved one. It's a time when we feel grief & loss.

Rember: JESUS has RISEN!

The Remembrance in the Lords Supper. Is a time for CELEBRATION! Through our partaking & remembrance via The Lords Supper/Communion We are envoking the NEW COVENANT.

Faith and partisipation in the Lords spilled blood; Brings: Forgivness, Reconciliation, Redeemption & Etenal Life.

Faith and partisipation in the Lords broken body, Brings: Spiritual and physical health.

Psalms 105:37 They ate the LAMB & the next day: Although many were old ""NOT 1 WAS FEEBLE AMOUNG THEM"""

So, Every time we partake in the Lord's Supper. We are reaffirming our Faith in Christ's Death, Burial & Resurrection. And this partaking spititually & physcially nourishes & sustains, those already born again, until His 2nd coming.

Question: Are you a believer? Are you sickly or feeling ill? Have you been partaking in Communion REGULARLY?

Question 2: If you were hungry & close to starvation, would 1 meal completely restore your health?

The longer its been since you last partook or the sicker you are right now. The more often you should enter into Communion with our Lord!
