repentance is something that Jesus Christ calls us to do through giving us mercy up front. God works in us true, by the word of Christ in us working discerning the attitudes and thoughts of our hearts. Jesus gospel calls us who believe into repentance because His words are living and active in us. we do have to cooperate with God in sanctification he does not do it against our will. there is a part of this where if we believe well pick up our cross and follow hIM. thats an image of not an easy walk ahead of the believer, but one that requires really everything of us, we are willing to do this because He gave everything for us, first.

He also though promises to return with wrath upon those who persist in sin, its written and we cant change it because we dont like to hear it, we have to learn to accept, believe and Love the truth that sets free. if Jesus teaches a principle, people should be very very verrry careful to go around preaching the opposite, or a point that omits the word of Our King of kings. when the King speaks, its final and immutable in His Kingdom. we gotta learn to agree with Jesus on everything, it shouldnt be that hard because He was spit on for us, insulted, stripped and beated, whipped , mocked, pit to public shame and crucified as a common thief, with common criminals there Hung our Lord for 6 hours struggling to breath and writhing in pain.

the exact same savior who did that, taught a ministry and stressed to those who Loved Him, keep my ways, my teachings, follow me , spread my message to others, when you make a mistake and do something wrong, repent and get back to where you began, following the Lord, Learning from the Lord, He is full of mercy to His disciples, he is full of wrath to those who oppose Him and lead people in the wrong direction away from His teachings and promises, and warnings to those he came to save......everyone.

hold fast the truth as scripture states

this is easily called works salvation by some and certainly a number here...but it is not

funny...while doing some work around the house before, I thought of just what you posted regarding what Jesus suffered for us and thought about how some constantly squawk about 'free' salvation...but it really never was.

one day, we will understand all that actually He suffered for us because in our present state, I don't think we really can appreciate it because we are not without sin

I believe we have a choice and I believe we make choices all day long

I agree but it is not a hill I am willing to die on haha

it is what it is and best avoided for someone who disagrees so strongly with the tactics used

the topic is a constant 'damage control' scenario. always about salvation and works and who is what and how can we label someone we do not really either agree with or understand

other doctrine may be disagreed upon, but by gum we sure 'nuff all give a heads up on the issue that really is a non issue if you simply agree with scripture

I dunno...I learned it all when I was 5 and accepted it and maybe I was blessed with a good foundation

one of my fav songs as a kid was that old one about how the wise man built his house upon the rock and foolish man built his house on the sand ... a sure foundation is Jesus and He is found from Genesis to Revelation..the Alpha and Omega. Amen

yep the reason mankind fell into death is because they wouldnt accept His word, and the reason people will be cast into the lake of fire is because we will not believe His word, every place in between is the same. the Word of God the simplest thing to understand, and yet there are a million interpretations of it, the faith of a child believes what the parent says.

Thank you for sharing this...It has unlocked my mind to these Scriptures once and for all...I could not get my head around them for ages ...Every time I was growing , these Scriptures would make me feel threatened , made me think I could lose my salvation in Christ...The Holy Spirit has used your post to enlighten me, you never know who is reading and then the Light shines brighter :)...Feel like rejoicing so I will...\:D/...xox...
Amen dear Sister, I am glad for you, and thanks for the compliment! When Jesus said he would save us, well, he did. We see his grace working in us, because he saved us, we can never lost what he alone has accomplished. Our concern for our soul is him working in us, the lost have none of this concern!

amen no it was never free at all, it cost the highest price imaginable, so high that the earth quaked, and the sun was darkened as the pure and beloved innocent Son of God, took upon Himself each of our sins and suffered morethan we can imagine not because He had to do it to save himself, but because God loves us and wants reconciliation with man that much. even though we earned that painful death with our sins, our hero clothed in rightoeusness, standing strong in the power of God, shining with the light of His Glory laid down His immeasurably valuable life, all His glory and took upon Himself to become one of us, because it takes a man to undo what man did.

it was the most expensive ransom ever paid or that ever will be paid. How can we then turn and make provision to continue on in the things that put Him on the cross to begin with? he really did suffer really felt all that excruciating pain all with us in his heart " to save my beloved creation i will suffer this shame and injustice on thier behalf. i for one, have come to a point where i dont want to look at Jesus up on the cross anymore suffering for what i do, but i want to see His face shining and follow Him from the empty tomb in his spirit of truth and righteousness . i want to follow the Lord who is raised and alive forever more. if only we could learn adam and eves lesson, we would see in truth and victory

Matt 10:33 and Luke 12:9 Jesus said "if you deny me before man, I will deny you before the Father."
Then we find in Titus that a person can be a denier of God, by their very works.
Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in WORKS they DENY Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good WORK reprobate.

He did?

John 6, He who sees and believes will Never hunger, never thirst Live forever, never die, Has eternal life and will be raised on the last day.

John 6. Believe in me and out of your heart will flow rivers of living water flowing to eternal life

John 3. Believe in me and you have eternal life. He who believes has life, he who does not believe does not have life but the wrath of God abides in him.

Either you believe in jesus or you do not?

Now again, Can you answer why Jesus died if we could make ourself clean.
Now Now EG,

I have never ever said or even suggested I could forgive my own sins (cleanse myself). That is low even for you.

But once Jesus has cleansed me He gave me instructions on how to live. I am not your enemy for pointing this out to you.

I am not "wrong" because I choose to pick up my cross and follow Jesus as He instructs.

He said for me to "pick up my cross" (That He gave me) and follow Him. He didn't say, "go your own way while I carry your cross for you".

Now honestly, are you really trying to convince people I'm saying I can forgive my own sins?

I don't think anyone sees that in my posts. I don't think you see that in my post.

But these things happen. I forgive you. :)

those scriptures to you is jesus explaining why what He taught is not sufficient for you? How do you reach that conclusion? why do you need to omit everything else He said while on one hand you agree we have to believe in Him, yet what he taught, thats not for us to believe or " it doesnt apply to us as if we arent His disciples now or? i dont see how you take a few verses singly out of a whole chapter and point being made, and then claim it teaches you that jat Jesus taught is insufficient ?

heres my point clearly and concisely

john 3 " He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. 32And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. 33He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

34For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. 35The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 36He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

you have to also believe Jesus testimony and accept it as it is this is promised in deuteronomy 18:15-18 and confirmed in acts 3:22-26 by peter to be Jesus Christ. the One God promised to send, to speak His words after the people refused to hear him speak at horeb. God promised in deut 18"15-18, to send Jesus to speak His words and that all who will not heed His wpoken By Jesus, will be destroyed from Gods people. its not hard to believe and see if a person believes scripture above other ideas.

its support for Jesus saying this

john 12:48-50 " He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Moses was promised it, Jesus came fulfilling that promise and peter the apostle confirms that promise is extended to the world, first to the jews, and as paul comletes then to the gentiles. the same christ to all people, the dsame Gospel, the same eternal Kingdom promised to david, gentiles are now included in that promise through the seed of abraham and our faith in Him.

you scriptures are leaving out all the rest, sort of like you are saying " Jesus said " I will never condemn you no matter what you do" but really He said " neithr do i condemn you now go and sin no more"

he says it again here

john 5:14 "Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee."

again Jesus heals the man with unwarranted goodness and mercy, forgives His sin, and then says " go and sin no more" its because like i said Jesus came to

luke 5:32"
I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

its why paul says this after explaining from ch 6-8 a deep message he makes plain

romans 8:1 Therefore, brethren,
we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live."

if you put to death the misdeeds of the flesh what are they ?

galatians 5 " Now
the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts."

we have to stop sinning , that should not be an un acceptable doctrine, the bible teaches it from page one forward to the last page of revelation. stopping sin, is the result of Jesus Christ and His Gospel all of it. including His death and resurrection thats essential, so are His teachings and words because again, hes not Just another prophet He is the Christ, the annointed messiah sent with Gods eternal Word. you cant simply dismiss this truth salvation is as the word of God says clearly it is, if we accept Jesus and the things He teaches and follow after Him we will be saved . its not that hard to accept is it? who wouldnt agree to give thier lives to the One who suffered and died to offer them eternity ????

I will, and will always advise others very simply to learn and believe the Words of thier Lord and savior Jesus Christ. its the Gospel. and again im not saying anything is not sufficient, im just saying one thing doesnt omit the other, so i can agree to all of it without disagreeing or telling others something doesnt apply to them by a phantom explaination. scripture in truth, just is what it is, it says what it says, we are students trying to learn what it ays and retain and understand it. we have no place omitting anything because we dont agree with what it says is my belief, you cant understand the Bible by banking on one verse to tell the whole story, gotta let it fit together and its a perfect message that actually does redeem our lives from the power of darkness, which is serving sin we lie> its satans will. we cheat? its satans will. we kill, hate, judge others, disregard another in needs were able to help, those kinds of things are satans will.

satan has access to out minds when we slack off in our part and still is able to tempt and lead astray if we let Him. we have to cling to te Lord, believe in Him, trust His words are true understand they are greater because he says it.

I stay out of that thread for more than one reason, but the ganging up by a group on that thread has definitely got a few so upset they said things they should not have and were banned

it's a minefield!

if someone actually says to another they should or might be banned though (unless they are trolling or the like), that is abusive in and of itself IMO

like I said, that thread in particular seems to lend itself to disappearing people
There's been more people banned in that thread than any three others combined.

Matt 10:33 and Luke 12:9 Jesus said "if you deny me before man, I will deny you before the Father."

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in WORKS they DENY Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good WORK reprobate.

One thing i think people should realize about Jesus, even though He teaches us really clear behaviors and says things that seem harsh, His will is to forgive us even when we trespass, if only we will return, you can really see this beginning with the scriptures ur referring to there nd then watching peters experience of denying Jesus 3 times even though Jesus taught them this

Jesus taught them all this......matthew 10:33 " But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."

peter did this " matthew 26 : Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee. 70But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest. 71And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth. 72And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. 73And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee. 74Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. 75And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

matthew 26:34 " Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

then after Jesus is raised from the dead, you see His Love for man, and How His ministry is not a "to the letter and grammar" type of thing because look after He taught them , and peter denies Him, look what Jesus does especially to peter

john 21 :
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. 16He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. 17He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep."

peter One of the 3 closest disciples in Jesus circle, the chief apostle upon whos confession the church would be built, the One jesus hands the keys of the Kingdom to, he denied Jesus before men 3 times, even after Jesus taught them " if you deny me before men, i will deny you before my father in Heaven."

if we will continue trying with Jesus, He will never disown us, He wills always that each of us come to repentance and be saved. its wonderful that we have a Lord that is willing to suffer and die to save us, His words arent meant to condemn but to free us and save us just as well. to call sinners who would die into repentance and Life in Him. forgiving all thier trespasses and calling them into the fold of God, where they bgin to hear and learn from the Good shepherd and follow His voice alone and no other voice will they follow.

Our actions do deny or confirm our relationship with God, " faith without works is dead can that Kind of faith save anyone?"

we can go to church sundays and wdnesdays, and if the rest of the time we live selfish lives, geared upon our own pleasures and provision, and wealth and success and our own desires for life for us, were missing the great commandment that is to Love others the way Jesus Loved us, the way He taught us to Love one another. forgive, speak the truth and dont spread gossip and slander, help another person God brings across your path in your life if you are able do it with a glad Heart, have compassion on the homeless, the elderly widows and orphans and mistreated and left behind and kicked aside ofthe world.

look to the poor and needy, the broken and weary who desperately need hope and offer a helping Hand, feed the hungry, clother the naked, visit the sick and imprisoned. be faithful to your spouses, honor the marriages of all people whether you or another. dont judge others and condemn them, instead when they sin against you and repent forgive them. never ber grudges and let hate fester in your spirit. to Love each other, is based entirely on How we actually treat each other, with as the Gospel declares a special attention put upon those with great needs in the world all around us.

its impossible for say a man that makes 75,000 a year has 2 kids and a wife, to create His own little world and never help the needy people all around, surely He needs to care for His family, but when it comes to that set of jet skis im saving for? yet i rarely give anything to another person in need? its not really Love because the action is not there.

in a marriage you cant Just say " I love you" each morning, and then treat the person any way you want, to Love someone you have to treat them woth your actions, Lovingly. the brother in Christ who is begging on the street corner? is He really my brother if i can simply see him and then try not to notice him so i dont feel as if i should help somehow? or would i be very quick to help my own brother in that same situation? Love is what we do, both toward God and each other. " to Love one another" is all about what we do and How we live. many ways to help and many needs to be met and all of us have some area we can really help others in. gotta Love one another in truth and deed Like the Bible teaches. we are what we do and we belong to whom we serve.

Matt.10:33 "whoever shall deny me" is a comprehensive aorist tense, referring not to one moment of denial (such as Peter's), but an entire lifelong resistance to Christ.

those who have received The Holy Spirit, will soon learn that The Holy Spirit will not dwell
along side or abide with darkness inside ones life - amazing changes occur within the ones who receive
their calling; their changing lives bear the fruit of their 'over-coming'...

I don't think anyone sees that in my posts. I don't think you see that in my post.

But these things happen. I forgive you. :)
He also said to go tell the world his teachings :) that will never change

matt 24:35 " Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."

1 peter 1: 22-25 " Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
24
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
25But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Hebrews 4:12-13 " For
the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do."

hebrews 13:8 " Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

John 3: 5-6 "jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of
water and of the Spirit, (matthew 3:11 water, spirit )he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."john 6:63 " It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

john 8:31-34 "
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin."

it seems as if this is a " wise" policy"

matthew 7 : Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. ( see the foundation of God standing sure and naming christs name)
24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it."

wisdom takes the yoke of Jesus upon himself, and learns from Him while trusting in His provision and truth, his mercy and His righteousness on every subject.

And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. 24I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. 25Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. 26I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. 27They understood not that he spake to them of the Father. 28Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and thatI do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

"
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. 37Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice."

"
But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. those who have received The Holy Spirit, will soon learn that The Holy Spirit will not dwell
along side or abide with darkness inside ones life - amazing changes occur within the ones who receive
their calling; their changing lives bear the fruit of their 'over-coming'...
I honestly think what happens is when we continue on sinning and we know we are sinning, if we Know much of the bible we also Know that God is Holy and that sin seperates us from His presence, it takes us away and causes us to hide. in my own life long ago, i would find at times i would totally slack on prayer, on study, on actually looking for ways to love other people who need it in life. and ibve correlated it was always times i persisted in sin when the Lord was calling for aomwthing in my life, for example alcohol.

because i knew inside He was telling me it was time to giv it up, and i persisted anyways, i was unaware but like adam, because of my shame i was hiding from his presence, rather than seeking Him daily as i should. theres no way to argue that sin affects our relationship with God, and if we follow it far enough it is death, and will seperate us again from God, its light and dark impossible for the 2 to be in the same place at the same time they repell one another. just as God cant Have a relationship with evil. evil wants no part of a relationship with God.

Hey everyone, did you notice that Cee said I accused him of attacking when I didn't?

Did you notice also he NEVER got on EG at all for the same thing as hardsell?

That just being a respecter of persons, isn't it?

He definitely has EG's back.

Watch him carefully.
You said: Accuse one & not the other.

Actually you're right. You didn't say I was attacking him. You said I was "accusing him".

I used the wrong word. My apologies on that.

Make no bones about it, I have gotten into a few "heated discussions" with EG before.

We don't always see eye to eye.

I will speak my mind and hopefully not offend people since it is a Bible discussion forum.

I know how it can be to get really passionately involved in a discussion. I've been there a few times myself.

I don't hold any ill will to anyone.

I appreciate your viewpoint though thanks for sharing. I'll keep it in my mind for the future.

God bless you and keep you.

Matt.10:33 "whoever shall deny me" is a comprehensive aorist tense, referring not to one moment of denial (such as Peter's), but an entire lifelong resistance to Christ.

okay but why is that how its interpreted ? How about just simply what Jesus says? the point really is that even though Jesus has a ministry and teaches us to learn and Keep His teachings, he is not without mercy when a follower fails or even falls away. he is not willing that even One person is lost. what Jesus died for, is to save us and not condemn us. what He said has everything we need, because it has many things like this

john 6:29 " Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."

john 8:51rily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death."

Luke 7 " And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. 45Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. 46My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. 47

Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. 48And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.49And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? 50And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace."

and there are all of the statements about learning and obeying His commands also, you see events where Jesus embraces sinners tightly with a firm and warm embrace, but he is always teaching them the truth at the same time, he is never explaining How they dont have to repent, or obey Him. His message is " I love you this much, Now believe me because you Know I love you this much"

Jesus is not like the mosaic Law, if a believer transgresses, they have the opportunity to repent and be forgvien, under the mosaic Law, the sinner was punished and if the sin didnt rewuire a death sentance or excommunication, the offering was made and sins were forgvien, or rather placed upon the " scapegoat" of the sin sacrificial system and carried into the desert away from israel.

Jesus will not condemn someone for not being perfect, in fact His doctrine provides for our forgiveness as we follow its not stone and the inbreakable letters, its the spirit of the Love He taught. to treat others the way Jesus taught us to treat others. if we sin, we do Have an advocate who we know Loves us that much and He is there interceeding for us, pleading for us before God the Father. the law was if you do this you will die without mercy. adulterer> must surely be stoned" a son or daughter who dishonors the parent>? must surely be stoned....they didnt have the option of Gods ongoing patience with us, and the power of the spirit Given in Christ Jesus.

if they transgressed as a member of Gods people they were executed by the fellow brethren. Now, its like he did eith peter, id just accept what He actually said was " if anyone denys me before men, i will deny Him before my father in Heaven" its just what He said clearly.

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

thats so straight forward why do we need a different understanding of it? the truth is that the Gospel is Grace and truth together, there is forgiveness and the assurance that He will not leave us or forsake us, and there is also lessons were meant to learn believe and live out. we see His will to forgive us, and we also see His constant true warnings of where sin will lead us. no one is yet perfect, and there is mercy like a river in the Gospel, along with the truth of Gods Kingdom and eternal Life.

if anyone denies me before men" peter did that 3 times, do you think its not connected that Jesus asked Him 3 times later do you love me? peter the same who had denied Him 3 times? thats Jesus mercy and Gods grace for peter. do you think peter ran outside and wept bitterly because maybe Jesus had taught them not to deny Him? and yet Jesus still is extending mercy and Grace to peter even though peter did something, wrong....?

thats more how i see it, Grace doesnt end at the cross either, as we follow Jesus grace remains upon our lives and even when we fail, grace is there to allow our repentance and forgiveness every time. were told to make every effort to enter....its not as cold and harsh as the Law, because its meant to save and redeem rather than sentance to death.

I love this part especially: repentance is a faith issue.

We can turn away from sin without turning toward God because the Pharisees did this, but we can’t turn toward to God without turning away from sin.

Theres a reason why His goodness and kindness leads to repentance. It’s in seeing Him as for us and not against us that we begin to eagerly change the way we think toward Him and His Kingdom ways.

Good morning Cee., I like the way you put it as well. He is always for us and never against us. A truth many believers don't know. Sad to say many Christians believe that should they fail and fall., God will turn away from them in disgust.

But we who have learned about and (believe in) the love of God in Christ., we know all the redeemed are always and forever seen in Jesus and His righteousness. Because He lives., we live. Because He is worthy., we are worthy. Not because of anything good that we have done., but because of His love where with He loved us and called us.
