If you put Joel 2 for the church you ignore the scripture!
Joe 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Ac 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Peter cites accurately Joel 2 and matches the Spirit upon all flesh which includes Gentiles and delineates it from your sons and your daughters.

All flesh is saved by the pouring out of the Holy Spirit but Israel is chosen for evidence of gifts as a witness to them of Jehovah Gods provision of their Messiah.

What gobbledegook is this?
And you are being most disrespectful.
The Revival Fellowship preaches Acts 2:38 and Mark 16:15-20

Everybody is baptized in water and the Holy Spirit
(except for babies, toddlers and the very young)
but all who seek the Lord for themselves young and old
speak in tongues when they receive the indwelling Holy Spirit.

100% praying in tongues.
One sign for all. No confusion. No schisms.
These signs shall follow them that believe ...
Works for us.

LOL. You talk of tongues and God warns of itching ears.

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Pentecost is a Jewish feast. Shavuot is the feast of the latter first fruits. It is tied back into Joel and the former and latter rain promised to Israel.

Right. Back to the OP. As I mentioned a part of the spiritual warfare is Satan and his evil angels sowing division and discord among Christians through differences in understanding tongues, or Calvinism vs Gospel truth, or any number of divisive issues.

Spiritual warfare is waging on many fronts, and all of them are meant to adversely affect the Christian, his attitude, his walk, and his service to God and Christ. Below are some of the attacks of the enemy, applying the principaL of DIVIDE AND CONQUER:

1. Conflict about Bible versions

2. Conflict about modes of worship -- traditional vs contemporary

3. Conflict about Christian music -- traditional vs worldly

4. Conflict about theologies and denominations

5. Conflict about interpretations of Bible prophecy

6. Conflict about loving the world vs loving the Father

Conflict means division, division means disunity, disunity means ineffectiveness for the work of the Kingdom of God.

And don't we see that division in our churches today and on sites such as this one. The devil is in the details.

No disrespect intended, just trying to set you straight, the evidence of the Holy Spirit is everyone that hears it hears it in his own language, in Mark.14 the word new means freshness and the word tongue means language, in other words when your baptized with the Holy Spirit your speech becomes more friendly, by the way you've been writing to me I would say you do not have the Holy Spirit, tell me do you play with snakes too? the traditions of man voids the word of God. God bless

There never has been a 100% saved church, let alone 100% Spirit filled.

The devil is in the details whenever there is division and conflict as he loves to divide and separate Christians.

Has "speaking in tongues" taken over this thread?

I don't know about the rest of you but the OP is speaking about spiritual warfare and the spiritual realm. There are days for me whenever I feel that warfare going on all around me.

Yeah regarding "playing with deadly creatures or other things"(doesn't matter if your dancing around or preaching with said creature or thing it's still playing with it),anyone who takes no regard for their own life and "waste it" pretending to serve God,are no more than ungrateful liars to God/Jesus.

Sadly yes.

For some gifts outweigh the fruit
Or simply obscure the true objective.

We are to lift up Christ before a lost and dying world that they might be drawn to Him and saved. We war against those who place their favorite gift above all else.

1Co 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Having been gifted the Holy Spirit we are a testimony or witness to the saving grace of God.

Perhaps we should all be more concerned about what we are dealing with in this spiritual warfare instead of wondering if we each have the best spiritual gift.

Maybe putting on the "whole armour" of God is needed most in these times of so much evil forces abounding.

Exactly. Mark 16:18 is not a license to be stoopid. Ya can't just walk up and grab any old rattler by the tail and not get bit. Those snake handling churches are selling nothing but snake oil.

But on the flip side, I've come across rattlers that should have bit me, and by faith and the grace of God they didn't. Even had a short conversation with one, and it wasn't even in tongues ;). You also can't just gulp down any old rotten thing and not expect to get sick. Yet, again, with faith and the grace of God, I've eaten things and been just fine while others who ate of it got the pukes.

Motive and intent are ALWAYS a factor into whether the scripture you read is a truth or a lie, as some would have you believe.

I want to be clear that what I am going to say is only my opinion..

As someone who should have been dead many times over I think the verses about handling snakes and drinking poison are symbolic. I have "handled" many snakes that came in the form of poisonous people and I have filtered more than my fair share of poisons like drugs and alcohol. I very strongly suggest avoiding both but through it all God kept me alive. I believe He did this for His purpose and that His plan for me will manifest itself. Again, not teaching or arguing any point here, thats just what applies to me.

Exactly. If it weren't for tunnel vision and polarization more people would understand this.

In these days, Satan knows he has a short time, so he's pulling out the stops everywhere.

False religions are growing at a breakneck pace.

Earthquakes, tsunamis, and other weather-formed crisis' everywhere.

Wars, & rumors of wars every day.

The nations are looking for peace & safety, & they will the crown the first person who brings it to them.

The child of God will see it, but partake very little in it.

Psalm 91
1He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust!”
3For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper
And from the deadly pestilence.
4He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
5You will not be afraid of the terror by night,
Or of the arrow that flies by day;
6Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.
7A thousand may fall at your side
And ten thousand at your right hand,
But it shall not approach you.
8You will only look on with your eyes
And see the recompense of the wicked
.
9For you have made the LORD, my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place.
10No evil will befall you,
Nor will any plague come near your tent.
11For He will give His angels charge concerning you,
To guard you in all your ways.
12They will bear you up in their hands,
That you do not strike your foot against a stone.
13You will tread upon the lion and cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you will trample down.
14“Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.
15“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16“With a long life I will satisfy him
And let him see My salvation.”

We are said to be in the image of God; but if one were to look in the mirror and claim to see God he/she would at best be very confused.

The question then arises : in what way(s) do we resemble God.

We resemble God in that we share the three elements of person-hood: intellect, will, and emotions

Like God: we think, we decide, and we feel.

The Hebrew words rouach and nephesh both have a surface meaning of wind or breath.

The rouach is the directed breath-- the life force.

The nephesh is the undirected breath --- the will.

That is how it is understood from the perspective of the Hebrew language.
I found this useful. Thank you.

Gonna keep reading to see why what I posted caused someone to go on the attack...,
