    Smile SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF SYMBOLISM IN THE BIBLE - WHAT DOES IT MEAN????

    The parables are so full symbols, secret meanings and lessons of truth within the stories, the books of Daniel and Revelation are packed and overflowing, too.

    Do you know what any of them are and what they mean? If yes, care to share?

    The Fig Tree = the nation of Israel

    The Lamb of God = Jesus

    The Fig tree in the parable does not represent Israel as is often claimed:

    Luke 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

    Luke 21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

    Luke 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

    Luke 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

    Christ is using the parable of the fig tree and ALL the times coming into leaf as regards to timing of the events previously stated:

    Luke 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

    Jesus is talking about the symbolism in the parable of the sower in this verse. Mark 4:13 is and the parable of the sower is a key that will unlock the symbolism in other parables. If you truly understand the parable of the sower the other parables are easily discerned.

    For example:
    Birds=Satan

    Mark 4:4-4 as he was sowing, some seed fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate it up
    ark 4:15-15 These are the ones who are beside the road where the word is sown; and when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word which has been sown in them.

    Your denying it does not change anything. The fig tree DOES represent Israel whether or not you choose to recognize it.

    Using the budding of trees as an example of changing times does not mean the trees are Israel.

    When the children of Israel crossed the Red Sea, it was a type of baptism:

    1 Corinthians 10:1-2 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

    The children of Israel could no more return to Egypt after they crossed the Red Sea (baptism into Moses) than we can return to the way of the world after our baptism into Christ.

    "and all the other trees" - so when do all the other "tree = nations" shoot forth?

    No logic to Marc claims whatsoever.

    I'll just use the fig tree for example .

    The Fig Tree was a teaching in part, from Jeremiah 24. And its about Israel being
    established ; as a nation in 1948 .
    From that point forward, Christ expected the believer, ( those that actually care ) to Watch for the seven signs or seals He taught in Matthew 24 among other places , which are signs and teachings taught throughout the OT prophets, and Christ Himself and His apostles .

    But there is more to the parable. For one its symbolic for that which is hidden . It is also a parable for the sin in Eden . When Adam and Eve sinned, thy
    sewed fig leaves together
    to cover their privet parts. And the teaching is part of the key of David . Without understanding Christ's parables; Satan takes advantage of ignorant people . This is why we have so many divisions just on the spelling of words, or how its read let alone the difficulty the churches are spreading concerning Christs' parables.

    All symbolism used in prophecy is defied in the bible, but you'd have to had actually read the Bible with some recall, to be able to call upon those meanings when you're reading about the Bibles prophecies . Some of its straight forward , but most is not understood without knowing the rest of the Bible. Not going to happen without study and prayer .

    Many people of excellent scholarship understand birds to represent worldly cares and values.

    It did not say pastors but Angels........... Yes there some (like Gabriel) angels that are messengers but we should not consider them Human unless the Bible tells us this is so..
    1 Cor 15:1-4

    Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

    The The Fig Tree is also a symbolic, for believers who are too stupid to tell the difference when they are helping to spread good or bad fruit . Its also deeper for the kind of Nation, that would be established , referring to my first post ..

    The woman in Rev 12 :1 seems to reference Joseph's dream in Gen 37 :9

    So Jesus lost contact with the angels and had to have John send them a letter....
