The next I can remember reading about is Noah.

What did all three have in common?

Able sacrificed an animal for the Blood to cover sins. God gave Adam and Eve animal skin to cover their nakedness (sin)

All that a prophesy of Jesus blood covering our sin.

Well the things I have seen in this world make me question alot,

It is good that we have a patient and loving Heavenly father because most of the pastors I ask my questions to don't have time to talk.

But I learned it's better to pray and ask God our questions and read the Bible and learn for ourselves His truths.

Jeremiah 3:15, Ephesians 4:11-12 And many other bible verses talk about how we need teachers and pastors for guidance. Why did the Lord give us this leaders of he believes that we could get ALL our questions answered by the holy Spirit? I suggest getting new spiritual leaders because there is obviously a problem somewhere if your pastor "doesn't have time" to answer your questions.

Yeah..... I read the Bible from Genesis to Revelations during lent every year if God allows me the time. So I have ton of questions that most pastors don't even think about and only God can really answer...I am often told "Good question,let's ask God when we get to heaven"

Some people think I am boasting or being legalistic when I tell them I read/listen to the Bible every year...

But it doesn't make me feel wise. I feel humbled by how much I don't know or understand of God's word or the world.

However God tells me I know enough to do His will, all He is that we take one right and faith step at a time.

The passage of not worrying about tomorrow constantly is repeated in my mind.
.yet I still worry.

Is that lack of faith?

Short answer about prophets....I believe that the Holy spirit still moves people to prophesies but the Office of PROPHET and High priest have been taken...

We are all God's priest and a holy set aside people. Therefore all Christians should speak as oracles of God.

Oracles predict the future...God has given us Revelations and the Gospel. We should all share that and not waste time in idle chatter or gossip.

If we speak let it be with love, wisdom and truth so that we might build up the body of Christ and not to bicker or manipulate others. Let us all seek to do God's will, not our own.

Then the world will see how we are children of God

We are not slaves but Princes and princesses

The words that are highlighted for me today is " complete patience" and "enduring suffering."

How does God teach us patience?

The Bible says it's by testing our faith.

He has tested my faith by hiding from me. When I first met God, He gave me many sweet consolations. As often as I sat to read my bible, He communed with me. When He hid, I didn't know what was happening and I was very distraught, thinking I had done something to offend Him and He had left me. But I learned that it was as with Israel in the desert. It says He allowed them to become very thirsty to see what they would do - if they would continue to trust Him or turn back to their bondage.

It's during the times when you can't sense Him that He is working in you the most. It's hard to believe this is true while you are on this fast in spirit from His presence and feel like you could die of thirst, but it's true. And when you learn this, you stop complaining so much and just submit. He somehow gets your self will to stop (the self will that wants only pleasant things to your flesh) and gets you to want what He wills for you because you know it will end in great blessing even though it feels just absolutely awful.

I have no idea if that will make sense to anyone...

Yes, that is lack of faith/trust. But the good thing is that He will finish the good work He began in you! In fact, the fact that you can SEE your poverty of spirit/lack of trust is proof that He is at work in you. Sink down into that poverty because His strength is made perfect in your weakness. Therefore, you should glory in your poverty and weakness because when you are weak, He is strong. But conversely, those who are full He sends away hungry. The poverty stricken people are the ones who are hungry for righteousness and He fills them with good things!

As for the gift of discernment of spirits....
If someone told you they saw an angel or demon, would you believe them or question their sanity?

to another discerning of spirits;
to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

reiterated in 1John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try [test] the spirits whether they are of God:
because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

This gift equips the Pentecostal disciple to pray in tongues about other
teachings and doctrines, or to lay hands on a book and pray about the
contents - the Holy Spirit will reveal any falsehoods or will confirm the
truth of such.
This is an important gift of safety and helps keep Pentecostal saints on
the narrow path that leads to life.

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into
the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as
the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

great bible verses and for that i thank you.

however i totally disagree with your understanding of what the gift of discernment of the spirits is.

what you describe IS A GIFT from God. its called discernment and I do believe it allows you to discern falsehood and truth.

we will not ever agree on the speaking in tongues topic, do you mind if we move past it and talk on other topics?

i will use my next post (patience cuz it might take a while cuz i am going to pray silently before posting) to describe what God has revealed to me so far of what the discernment of spirits means.

short version: its the ability to see angels and demons. the ability to see into the Spirit realm. to see people as trees like the man when Jesus first gave him back his sight..he saw the spirit, then he saw the world as most everyone else without the gift sees it.

you can believe me or not. i don't know why i am up at 3 am this morning. my dog woke me up and my heart told me to check this site. i want to ignore that prompting and go back to bed but God has taught me the harm ignoring His nudges does.

so when you start to see into the spirit realm, which has been all around you and everyone else. which influences others behaviors. demons whisper lies into everyone's ears and flee before God's people joined together in prayer.

have you ever noticed how negative thoughts and doubts about God and His love creep into your mind when you are alone more than when you are in the presence of another TRUE believer?

there are many fakes and hypocrites out there. i try my best not to judge because if i did i would become a hypocrite too. i know too clearly my own sins and faults because those demons make sure to guilt trip you into hating yourself. the only way to overcome is to remind yourself and them that YOU ARE FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD AND BY HIS BLOOD, YOUR SINS HAVE BEEN WASHED AWAY.

if you don't truly in your hearts of hearts believe this, then your faith is weak and you need to seek His kingdom with your whole heart.

we are not in Old covenant times. God does NOT demand 10% but 100% of your life.

people make excuses and are lukewarm. they are doubleminded and seek riches of this world instead of storing up treasures in heaven.

i do not accuse anyone with my words but repeat God's truth that is found in the Bible. if you feel condemned then its your own heart and mind and thoughts or it might be demons torturing you. i don't know your life. i don't know your heart.

however God does.

i was going to say next that the verses that say "the prayer of a righteous man availath much" and "when two or more of you are gathered together than I am with you also"... i don't know the bible book or numbers, just that they are in the Bible. i can find out if you really need the proof, or you can search yourself.

the point being is that if you can see the spirit realm, you would be able to see the angels that gather around us to protect us from the demons without when there are two or more. (why do you think Jesus sent His disciples out TWO BY TWO?)

when you are alone you can praise God and put on some worship music and the Enemy will flee, but you have to remember to do this. most just listen to the lies and become depress.

anyway. i hope this blessed someone. give all glory and thanks to God. if it was my choice i would be cuddling asleep next to my husband.

Oh, he never stops lying. Lie after lie he whispers to us and its always so subtly turned that we fall for it for a time. He does everything he can to circumvent and confuse what should be the simplicity of a man seeing that he is completely destitute. He makes the lies seem so reasonable. He knows if we see once and for all that we are bankrupt, that we will leave our pride to beg for all we need and he knows that's the beginning of the end for him being able to manipulate us.

Wish I Could stay for a bit this morn and talk with you guys but I have to go work with my hands. I like this thread and I saw the Spirit blow through it and grab you Ariel and turn you right around. Its hard to want to go to work when you see that. I want to be Mary and stay here to see what He does next for us in here but I have to be Martha today. I'll check tonight to see what happens and to see if we don't quench Him from moving freely in here! I'll be thinking about it all day and praying for the thread. Its turned such a good way for you Ariel!

i have to admit Stunned though i truly believe God has given me the give to discern spirits, He is still teaching me discernment.

someone called me "smart" yesterday and it bugged me because i don't feel "smart"

most days i feel quite dumb and foolish. if anyone talks to my closest loved ones they can tell you the foolish things i do...in fact they take great joy in sharing my greatest embrassments...

i have learnt the meaning of when Paul says the foolish of God is wiser than the wisdom of man, and how he would rather be a fool for God than counted as the wisest man.

still trying to figure out how to get out of a Timeshare contract we entered...now that was a foolish decision and money pit. Praying God shows a legal way out of that financial trap.

are Grace and the ability to Forgive and let go - when we obey and serve Jesus from our
hearts-spirits He teaches us daily discernments and the abilities we need in order to
grow-up-into-Him and learn to walk in His Light - it certainly doesn't come in an
instant, but it does become a life-time of 'over-coming' and repentance when
fall/fail - but He will always hold us and keep a close watch as we take our
victories in hand and give the Glory to Him in the peace that follows...
