Question: "What is the meaning of the Parable of the Sower?"

Answer:
The Parable of the Sower (also known as the Parable of the Four Soils) is found in Matthew 13:3-9; Mark 4:2-9; and Luke 8:4-8. After presenting this parable to the multitude, Jesus interprets it for His disciples in Matthew 13:18-23; Mark 4:13-20; and Luke 8:11-15
.

The Parable of the Sower concerns a sower who scatters seed, which falls on four different types of ground. The hard ground “by the way side” prevents the seed from sprouting at all, and the seed becomes nothing more than bird food. The stony ground provides enough soil for the seeds to germinate and begin to grow, but because there is “no deepness of earth,” the plants do not take root and are soon withered in the sun. The thorny ground allows the seed to grow, but the competing thorns choke the life out of the beneficial plants. The good ground receives the seed and produces much fruit.

Jesus’ explanation of the Parable of the Sower highlights four different responses to the gospel. The seed is “the word of the kingdom.” The hard ground represents someone who is hardened by sin; he hears but does not understand the Word, and Satan plucks the message away, keeping the heart dull and preventing the Word from making an impression. The stony ground pictures a man who professes delight with the Word; however, his heart is not changed, and when trouble arises, his so-called faith quickly disappears. The thorny ground depicts one who seems to receive the Word, but whose heart is full of riches, pleasures, and lusts; the things of this world take his time and attention away from the Word, and he ends up having no time for it. The good ground portrays the one who hears, understands, and receives the Word—and then allows the Word to accomplish its result in his life. The man represented by the “good ground” is the only one of the four who is truly saved, because salvation’s proof is fruit (Matthew 3:7-8; 7:15-20).

To summarize the point of the Parable of the Sower: “A man’s reception of God’s Word is determined by the condition of his heart.” A secondary lesson would be “Salvation is more than a superficial, albeit joyful, hearing of the gospel. Someone who is truly saved will go on to prove it.” May our faith and our lives exemplify the "good soil" in the Parable of the Sower.

Strangely, just about an hour or so ago, those doubts started creeping in again and I almost felt like "taking control" again and talk to this person and ask them a question but, I went over the conversation I had yesterday (online) w/ a Christian mentor and while reading his responses, I got filled w/ peace again and I was like ok, nope, I cannot ask this person yet. God has this under control and he'll tell me when.

It's difficult though. I guess I let Satan take control of me more so then not. I don't mean to but I don't fully recognize it either right away.
Allowing a thoght to enter your mind is not the same as acting upon it and does not mean Satan has control of you vexahd as a Christian, YOU ARE PROTECTED AND LOVED BY GOD.

We may hear temptaitiins but it is our choice to sin. Or obey God.

Here's my full question

How can I fully have faith and trust that God will do what he says he'll do w/o doubting that he'll carry it out?

I've had to talk to a few people yesterday and today about a situation I'm in.

I realize I'm struggling w/ having complete faith in God and letting things go and letting him take full control.

How can I work on that and have faith and trust in God that he will handle this situation for me?

It's good to meet you!

A man makes his plans, but it is God who guides his steps.

Without knowing anything real about what exactly your doubt is over, I can say that I do know my own problems have been more a matter of a clash between my own will and Gods will.

He will do His will in your life. Most problems come because I want Him to do MY will in my life.

Whatever circumstances you find yourself in are His will. He has guided your steps there and He has placed you there. He has done so because He sees the circumstance as good for you.

We are a bit like horses. A horse is useless to a man until it's will is broken. It is of use when it willingly goes where the man tells it to go and stops and stays stopped when the man tells it to.

Of course, we think more than horses do. We say: why does this man demand that I stand here? I want to run and he's telling me to just stand here!

Of course then, the burning question becomes: well, how do I know WHAT His will is in regards to the current matter when He won't TELL me or answer me when I ask Him?? I WANT to do His will, but how can I if He is just silent??

The answer is: to know what Gods' will is, look at the circumstance you find yourself in. He guides your steps as He has said in His word, so to know what His will is for you, look at your circumstances and that is His current will for you, no matter what it looks like or feels like to you.

All of your circumstances are custom made for your growth, to make you more like your Lord, who was completely surrendered to where God placed Him at all times.

Calm and peaceful acceptance of our circumstances comes after the bitter struggle of our own will rather than His. (Just as with a horse).

Where did all of this wisdom come from?? :)

How amazing that He gave you this after you were earlier just talking about worry!

When the temptation to worry about all these things comes, that is just temptation. In the beginning, the temptation might come 50 times a day or 12 times in an hour. And you're right that the temptation is not you sinning. In fact, it's satan sinning, not you. He is the tempter.

It only becomes sin if you advert to it and sink down into it to follow it and bathe and drown in it. And if the temptation to worry rather than trust comes 12 times in an hour, then 12 times in an hour you can say: wait a minute, NO, I will keep trusting Him and I won't worry. It's the obedience of trust, (the obedience of faith), that we are learning, just as Jesus learned the obedience of faith by the things He suffered.

Faith is an obedience. The obedience of faith rather than the disobedience of worry. :)
God is very pleased when we insist on trust and without trust, it is impossible to please Him.

All believers trust in Jesus for salvation, yet they don't always trust in Jesus to get them through a difficult situation or just to get them through the day, especially babes in Christ. That latter takes growth as we mature in Christ.

That kind of faith is not something one can simply suddenly have, it grows and becomes stronger slowly yet surely as you grow closer to him and grow in him. Think of faith as a tree. it stars as a small seed and eventually does grow into a strong massive tree but the process from the seed and the massive tree is a slow and steady one having lots of sunlight water and good soil to grow in.
You're right, brother! There's no such thing as fast faith.
