How can I fully have faith and trust that God will do what he says w/o doubting?

Here's my full question

How can I fully have faith and trust that God will do what he says he'll do w/o doubting that he'll carry it out?

I've had to talk to a few people yesterday and today about a situation I'm in.

I realize I'm struggling w/ having complete faith in God and letting things go and letting him take full control.

How can I work on that and have faith and trust in God that he will handle this situation for me?

It is first of all a choice you make. You choose to let go of control and in that letting go you pray your surrender. You tell Him that you choose to allow Him to take full control.

But once you do that, your flesh has it's own habits, and doubt will creep in (as you have said it does). Especially when it looks worse before you see the good. That is when you keep thanking Him that you trust in His love and goodness to you. The more you give thanks, the more the doubt will begin to fade.

I take scripture that affirms His care for me, and I write it out a few times. Read it aloud, and then begin to thank Him that He is loving me that much. I even go further and draw it out in some way so I can visualize it being done. An example is here:

That kind of faith is not something one can simply suddenly have, it grows and becomes stronger slowly yet surely as you grow closer to him and grow in him. Think of faith as a tree. it stars as a small seed and eventually does grow into a strong massive tree but the process from the seed and the massive tree is a slow and steady one having lots of sunlight water and good soil to grow in.

Why would you doubt God if He said what He will do? What kind of god tells lies, but Evil.
Perhaps what you doubt is that your will is not God's will.

Again, it is a matter between what is your will (having the situation dealt with) and what is God's will.
For example, you may wish to deal with a situation with patience, but have not yet been able to. Perhaps God's will is to allow you to have these trials so you can practice patience. After all, it requires practice to learn patience.

The best thing to do is accept any situation as it arises. In your acceptance, you will be open to hear God's will for you in the situation you are in.

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. [Philippians 4:11-13]

I guess I'm a seed then. I should have grown more because God has answered many prayers and has come through a lot for me yet, from your description, I still feel I'm a seed. I guess I feel like I need to take control of the situation though as God has shown me in the past, he already knows the situation and has it under control.

My problem is to let go of control. Why do I doubt? That's something I've had problems w/. Well, I've had issues of trust as well so, trust/faith/doubt are the 3 biggest areas I need work w/. I shouldn't have doubt as God has made it very clear to me and, I have tried to listen to him when he has told me many times already to relax, be patient and wait and 1 time he even said that to me audibly where God told me to be patient and wait and everything will come to past just as he told me.

Strangely, just about an hour or so ago, those doubts started creeping in again and I almost felt like "taking control" again and talk to this person and ask them a question but, I went over the conversation I had yesterday (online) w/ a Christian mentor and while reading his responses, I got filled w/ peace again and I was like ok, nope, I cannot ask this person yet. God has this under control and he'll tell me when.

It's difficult though. I guess I let Satan take control of me more so then not. I don't mean to but I don't fully recognize it either right away.

I'm not so sure your a seed. Many who think themselves great trees are actually seeds but a often times those who think themselves seeds are actually trees. Faith is not something that you can be an expert in, it doesn't matter how strong you are in it there will be seasons in which you are experiences but cannot base the strength or the amount of your faith on those seasons.
The journey to a iron strength faith is a never ending one and all will stumble and have doubt no matter how long they have been at it. Trust me your a lot stronger than you know

You should read the Bible yourself and pray about what you believe God promises.

Many believe lies about what God promises that are not Biblical.

For example the Bible says that those who do not work but are gossip mongerers and that go house to house stirring trouble should not eat. They should find productive work.
(not saying that you are...just that some claim that God promises to provide but dont what to truly follow what God asks them to do.)

Another says prayers aren't answer because folks are doubleminded

I will keep you in prayer. I have found God keeps ALL His promises,but we should not lie to ourselves.

Faith is a gift from God. You can't work, read more bible, serve or do anything to get faith. Faith is given.

Be honest with God, about everything and every single deep thought you've ever had, even if that thought is scary and you hesitate to bring it up. Daily prayer and daily bible. Remember that God is our parent. Parent's take care of their children, that is their responsibility, they lead and they teach, they take you by your hand. I hope that brings you some comfort.

Please do not take this the wrong way, it is meant for your good!

A woman talked to R. C. Sproul about her sin and confession of her sin to God, and that she felt unforgiven yet. He asked if she asked for forgiveness. She said yes she did ask for forgiveness but didn't believe she'd been forgiven, or more candidly, she didn't believe God forgave her, though she asked, and though his Word promises this.

She admitted to knowing what 1 John 1:8-10 said about God forgiving sins when confess. R. C. Sproul then rebuked her for being arrogant in not taking God at his Word and believing him. She then immediately repented and trusted God.

satan whispers lies and makes us doubt God's word and His love for us.

He made Eve doubt and that is why we have the fall.

Satan can't drag us to hell because we have Jesus, but he can make this earth like a living hell if we let his lies into our hearts.

I wouldn't stress about these phrases fully, completely etc. etc.

Looking at those things will never get you to that place, as Blaine said, you grow in it. It's experiencial.

Heads up! I don't fully trust God in all things, and I will never pretend to. I say it's easier SAID than done!

It's no surprise to God where you are at. Read the Word to see those places where He did keep His promises, read also those people we consider 'great' and where they 'waivered' in their faith.

If you can find a place in the Word where God made a promise and didn't keep it, please post it :)

What do you think God said He will do? If you are a Christian then you have traded this life to serve God in the hope of a new body with life everlasting at the resurrection.

Growing in trusting God I think can mean different things to different people. What I think would be good and always is good, is to soak in the promises of God, his love, his altogether character, what the bible says in general. Then you want to act on it. I could easily say that I trust God and know he is with me and cares about me, but if I don't step out of my comfort zone and face fears and anxieties, I am living as though it is not true and it is not practicing trust. Trust grows as you learn promises of God and his character AND face fears and getting out of comfort zone. And as I do that, I can see the truth that God can be trusted and he is telling the truth when he says I will be with you and will help you. If it is not facing fears, it can also it be letting go of perceived control or the need to control and let God be God. This is not easy but it can help learning that God is good and he is Sovereign. Then practicing letting go of the need for control. These things take time and everyone can grow in trusting in the Lord.

I do have some song recommendations as I believe songs can really speak to the heart and it is one of the ways God uses to speak to people. I can especially be moved by songs and that may be why I have shared songs the way I have before.

The song Oceans. One of the lyrics in it is " Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders. Let me walk upon the waters, wherever you would call me. Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander and my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior"

The song Lord I Trust You by Selah. It is a powerful song.

And though not a Christian song but powerful message, the song Invincible by Kelly Clarkson. I especially recommend this song if you have ever dealt with panic attacks. Some people feel like they have to prove to God that they are not fearful as they thought they were before or prove that they are a new person. I have been there and if you feel that way let me tell you that you don't need to prove anything. God is the one who changes us. We are new in Christ Jesus and not in ourselves. If you are feeling like you are weak or powerless, this song is great. In Christ and through Christ we are invincible. We are warriors. Do know that in the places where we are weak, that is where God's strength can shine the brightest.

Also doubt and faith often go hand in hand. Doubt can lead to stronger faith or weaker faith. Say if you have doubts of God loving you. That doubt may lead you to pray and ask God to show you his love and lead you to really listen to what the bible says and songs say about God's love and believe in God's love for you more. As you believe more about his love that can lead to trusting God more. And as you trust God, you may believe even more in his love for you and faithfulness. Or you could decide to do nothing about the doubts of God's love for you and you may thing of all the bad you have done. You might think of how you felt unloved by someone and think of God in a negative way. So by doing nothing about the doubt and entertaining it, faith can weaken.

Read your Bible every day...study the word
Attend church
Tune out tv and wordly music...wordly things..He tells us to come out from among them. Meaning wordly people/unbelievers.
The more you lean into Him, the more He draws you near
Less you, more Jesus.
Just see what begins to happen in your life
His promises are true.
Your faith and trust will grow...start believing Him.
