It's interesting that most of the "dissenters"
have posted between 5,000 to 18,000+ posts.

It would seem, (from reading some of their hate-filled rantings to other people) that they have nothing to do but spend their day thinking of ways to be sarcastic and hateful to others.

That's really too bad, when a few of them might actually have something constructive to say .. something that might help someone else.

If people are THAT consumed with hatred, perhaps "THEY SHOULD GET A LIFE???"

Read other people's post??? Ya gotta be kidding!!! From what I've read already ... much of what's written is either "hate-filled" or incredibly destructive. There''s "no way" that I'm going to fill my spirit with such evil.

I cannot imagine Jesus acting like they act. Obviously, they know nothing about God (who IS LOVE).

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some." (2 Timothy 2-15-18)

Hummmm... "But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto ... MORE ungodliness."

It would be difficult to be "MORE unGodly"than some of the posts that the dissenters constantly post.

"And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus." Read some of the sarcastic, hate-filled, post in this one thread ... and you can substitute a few names in the place "Hymenaeus and Philetus",

After reviewing their posts on this and other threads, ask yourself ... do I really want to ingest words that "eat as a canker"??? Maybe the best solution would be .. NEVER read another of their un-Christlike posts.

"A good thing to remember,
A better thing to do,
Be on the construction gang,
And NOT the wrecking crew."

Jesus, Himself, said, "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." (John 13:34-35)

From the hate-filled posts of some, one would deduce that they are not remotely interested in obeying Jesus, and certainly not interested in "walking in love".

"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46)

According to Jesus, HE is not Lord ... to those who disobey His commands.
It seems you've missed a spot on that "There''s "no way" that I'm going to fill my spirit with such evil" thingy. This whole post was nothing but a spew of YOUR spirit.

Since you're unable to tell the difference between a forest and tree, let me be clear. I was NOT against you answering questions from people. I wasn't even against you writing the OP. I was just suggesting you give us time to get to know you first.

Ends up, you let us get to know you quicker than I thought. And now that I know you, you'll be happy to know you fit right in on this forum. Angry, haughty, and sure, you alone have all the answers.

Now, if only HIS minster comes along, because all you've been doing is showing YOUR ministry about YOU. And so much for all that crap you said about respect, kindness, la-de-da. Apparently, that was for the goose, not the gander?

Well ... talk about a pit of vipers...

My intent was to develop a THREAD where people could ask questions and receive GODLY answers.

Immediately, vicious attacks ensued. Venom and hatred abounded.

"But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto MORE ungodliness." (2 Timothy 2:16)

This morning I asked that my profile be removed and my THREAD be deleted. I want nothing to do with such unGodly ranting.

I really haven't found that level of hatred in "professing Christians" prior to this. Got a quick education in DISCORD.

Why should ANYONE have to wait until this "pit of vipers" gets to know them before developing their own thread? Maybe I missed that part??? Who made YOU ruler over this site???

I cannot imagine me going on someone's post and acting in such a hate filled manner.

Jesus said, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." (John 13:55)

Using Jesus statement as our measuring rod ... no love ... no disciple.

Casual onlookers would assume this to be a place where bitter, wicked, hateful people go to vent. I'm outa here!!!

I'm not saying that at all...

I was just addressing some misuses of Romans 8:28. Some have attempted to appropriate that promise without understanding that the verse begins with the word "And".

"And" is a conjunction. It connects what went before, with what comes afterwards. In this case, it connects "Praying in the Spirit (Tongues)" with the promise that the Holy Spirit will make intercession for the petitioner and the outcome will be "all things work for good". BUT ... three prerequisites exist:

1.) Pray in the Spirit (Tongues)
2.) Love God
3.) Be called according to HIS purpose

While you're no less of a Christian without speaking in tongues, Jesus commanded Christians to be Baptized in the Holy Ghost. (Luke 24:49)

Paul said he thanked God that he spoke with tongues more than anybody.

Why would anyone want to disobey Jesus? He called the "Baptism of the Holy Spirit" ... being endued with "power from on high" (heaven).
Its not what we are without that matters but we are with .Not what we take in ,but what comes out as that which does defile a man or a doctrine..

No secret prayer languages. God knows our thoughts before they leave our hearts.. he judges the intent. Prophecy does not return void. It can either draw a person closer or cause them to fall away.

1Co 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe

Its an evil generation (natural man) that does walk by sight needed to form false pride and not by the exclusive faith that comes from hearing prophecy

God using other nations to bring his word(prophecy) .Prophecy coming from a another nation is a sign to those who do not believe scripture. Not a sign to those who do believe . By turning things upside down we miss out on the understanding of the Potter.

I think when men are angry with God not seen they look for fault in people seen . Why are you so angry?

Honestly it is your offering of derogation and name calling that is showing poor behavior.

You came here with an attitude to straighten all others out as a self-proclaimed Bible guru who would give us dogma and the answers yet receive none from others. Those who don't speak in your misinterpreted bible language and misapplication of Romans 8 were berated by you. Then you denied this when called on it when it was clear it was your intent.

You should man up and own yourself sir; the way you entered the forum was in haughty fashion as the one with all the answers in pompous fashion. When the red carpet wasn't rolled out for you the way you liked the name calling and derogation from you ensued.

Maybe you should have come in, got to know others, and showed some humility and respect for others of whom you wished to respond?

Hypocritical, really what one should say is welcome to the reformed and/ or cessationist CC.

Don't expect anything from God. If He gives you anything you must be sinful.

When in doubt, don't try to learn (only the church fathers knew) don't pray for help from the Holy Spirit cuz that's private Iinterpretation, you heretic!!!!

Besides it really doesn't matter what you do.....God only picks some and It ain't YOU.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:26-28)

This scripture is often inaccurately quoted or taken out of context. It applies ONLY when people:
1.) Pray in the Spirit (Pray in Tongues)
2.) Love God
3.) Are called according to HIS purpose
Well, I guess all the poor slobs who don't pray in tongues are in for a rough life.......... Maybe Jesus' life would have been smoother if only He had prayed in tongues.

You did a pretty good job of getting way out of context, yourself, with the addition of that to the verse you chose.
I was going to ask where that number 1 came from.

Even I, as a strong defender of all the gifts, know that is wrong.

It certainly was a SLIP. I just noticed two errors. Funny!!! Unfortunately, I can't correct the errors due to site policies. Sorry!

I understand completely about people being "way out in left field". We used to call them "Granola Christians". (Fruits, Nuts, & Flakes.)

I have "No horse in the race". I have nothing to prove. No doctrine to convince others of. My ONLY intent is to point people to the appropriate scripture for their situation, and to give people a thread for serious, BIBLE BASED discussions of God's Word.
Actually, aren't we all supposed to produce fruit? Nuts and flakes no, but fruit? Another slip?

(You were warned about the BDF, right? lol)

I quote you: "Listen, I get you are a lonely old man." Such wickedness!!! That ANYONE who CLAIMS to be Christian would make such a "hateful statement...amazing.

That, plus your claim that retreating from the Holy Spirit ... brought you closer to God ... tells me all I need to know about you.
You'll find that many here are a little 'rough around the edges' (and that too often includes me). Best to ignore them, since they'll always insist on having the last word.

Minister I have been to busy to follow the happenings of the thread but my advice to you is if know when to shake the dust off your feet and walk away. Even if there has been unkind words as a minister surely you know already when to walk away from an argument.
Knowing and doing are often at odds with each other. Myself a case in point ;)

"Prayer Language of Tongues"

this term is not found in the Bible and is a lie Satan has sold to some people to make them feel superior and better and more holy than other Christians.
Prayer language is a misnomer.

There are public tongues, which require interpretation, and are intended for an assembly.

There are also private tongues, strictly between you and God.

That we humans change 'private' to 'prayer', is that really such an offense?

But I agree with you, oft times the worse argument against tongues comes from those who speak them.

Paul said that while he wished we all would speak in them, he also said he would rather us not to speak them at all than to speak incorrectly. That's the whole premise of 1 Cor 14. Time and place!

Oh if only many in the pentasmatic movements could understand that!

amen. we can pray that God's truth be revealed on the topic.

"private prayer language" is called PRIVATE for a reason.

tongues should make sense (be interpreted) and be orderly when done in church (spoken so as not to distract from the worship of God but to the edificaton of all. one at a time). ...

His Minister 7,

A few observations:

You would do well to distinguish between sarcasm and hatefulness; as there is in fact no inherent connection between them.

There are other people on the forum who have seminary training.

There are many on the forum who are Biblically astute without seminary training.

You, in your short time here, have managed to label as hateful some of the most respected members of the forum.

When a person represents himself/herself as an authority without demonstrating competence: it is often, if not usually, an indication of arrogance, boastfulness, or both.

These observations are offered only with the intent to be helpful.

I'm not on here for "trolls" (who post thousands of hate-filled posts).

I started this thread so that Godly men and women could help by directing those who have questions ... to the appropriate scriptures.

". At least while nobody knows anything about you."

Those who seek help will decide for themselves who they trust. Will they trust those who are filled with venom??? Or will they trust those who point them to Scriptures that help them, and do so with LOVE???

Nobody needs to know ME. It's not about ME! It's about God's Word! And I'm not trying to be everybody's fixer. I'm here to help those who ask for help.

MOST responses have been so un-Christlike that it would cause a casual viewer to wonder if they'd accidentally logged into a Satanic web site. Sad!!!
==========================================================
logged onto a 'satanic web site'

this statement has caused us to pray for you, and this 'post' is one of the most un-kind
that hub and myself have heard since being led to come here - you have shamed yourself
and are clearly an imposter!...

Speaking of hypocritical. Will you be starting your very own brand of Calvinism? Clearly you don't cotton to Calvinism, but you clearly demonstrated all the characteristics you broad-stroked Calvinists as.
