Two things that Christ and his Father value very highly are integrity and
loyalty.

2Tim 2:4 . . As Christ's soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the
affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you
in his army.

1Tim 4:14 . . Focus upon the public reading of scripture, and to preaching
and teaching.

MLK Jr was an ordained Christian minister. Had he remained faithful to his
calling as per the two passages above, instead of abandoning his post for
political activism, he might still be alive today.

Well, I believe God also said not to judge others.

What do I know about MLK jr?

Only what US history books & the media want me to know, which I've discovered if you add $1.04 to it, you still can't get a cup of coffee at McDonald's.

US history stated that Columbus discovered America.

Think about that as you put your faith in the above mentioned.

See if I understand this-- someone fearlessly stands up for justice and oppressed people, knowing he would likely face death at the hands of countless ruthless enemies, advocates for them before presidents, leads them personally on a road to face and overcome the devil, and succeeds, in-spite of his faults, and becomes a powerful voice of freedom and hope in America and the world--
And you have a problem with that?
That is what America stands for;
In fact, all free nations in the world:
"Liberty and justice for all."
"One nation under God."

That was the calling of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from God.
And, like Christ, he accomplished it.

"NO GREATER LOVE CAN ANYONE HAVE,
THAN TO FACE DEATH FOR THEIR FRIENDS."
--Jesus of Nazareth

That is the same calling of every Christian throughout the world--to fearlessly stand up to powers of evil, life or death;
If we don't;
We risk being overcome by them.
And joining them through the cowardice of lukewarm acquiescence.

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (Jesus in Matthew 10:28-29; KJV)

Therefore, you are gravely mistaken; If he had saved his own life, and cowered to the voice of evil, racism and hatred, millions would have died; Not to mention hope and freedom for countless millions--
America would have died.

A man who others deem bigger than life is usually an idol.

Man has a dream, but God has a perfect, unchanging plan.

Worship the One who saved you with His perfect Sacrifice for the world, not one who couldn't save anybody.

Who said anything about worshiping anyone?
Christians worship the LORD in America and honor those who honored Him.
When you put down someone who is honored by the American government,
you come across as a racist. And he did save the lives of countless millions, and continues to do so, so they can have a chance to discover God's plan for their lives, and take stands that help others, instead of rotting in the quiet, slow death of lukewarm acquiescence and defeatist apathy.

Did you miss this part:
"NO GREATER LOVE CAN ANYONE HAVE,
THAN TO FACE DEATH FOR THEIR FRIENDS."
--Jesus of Nazareth

When we sacrifice our lives for others, that is honoring and worshiping God, who did the same, and calls us to also.

2Tim 4:1-5 . . In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge
the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give
you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season;
correct, rebuke and encourage-- with great patience and careful instruction.

. . . For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great
number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will
turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

. . . But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work
of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

While the world admires MLK Jr as a civil rights icon, Christ disdains him a
subordinate who shamefully neglected the duties of his ministry as per the
apostle Paul's charge. Consequently, King's works in this world will go up in
smoke as wood, hay, and stubble as per 1Cor 3:9-15.

How did he do that and how does he STILL do that? (Saves the lives of MILLIONS) I admired Dr King but that sounds a bit far fetched.

MLK was human and had his flaws but he did fight for what was right.He came against the KKK and southern Dems who were murdering people and trying to keep them from human rights. To say Christ disdains him is a matter of your own opinion only. You,thankfully,are not God and only He knows where the mans heart was. Lets leave the judging to Him.

My personal thoughts about Martin Luther King, Jr.....................

MLK was a prophet raised up by God and sent to the the president and leaders of America.

The dream MLK preached was not his own, but God given because he spoke of all people loving one another. Like the prophets of old, he was killed because of the message.

Prophets are mainly sent to leadership to bring correction and instruction.

MLK Jr wasn't just another John Q and/or Jane Doe pew warmer. He was an
ordained Christian minister whose rules of conduct, and whose duties and
responsibilities, are spelled out in what are commonly known as the pastoral
epistles of Titus, 1Timothy, and 2Timothy.

If perchance you're a young person reading this considering studying for
"the ministry" be forewarned that in order to serve Christ in accord with the
apostle Paul's instructions; you'll have to accept a status as Christ's
subordinate; i.e. you cannot be his minister as a free agent. Should you
choose to go off on your own agenda like King did, you'll be charged with
dereliction of duty and branded a deserter.

So what specifically did MLK do that made him a "deserter"? He was supposed to only preach and never speak on social issues? If thats your point I totally disagree.

It would have been nice at some point if Luther had spread more of a Christians viewpoint.

King was not really a "deserter" since his theology was essentially theological liberalism blended with "Black Theology", not Bible Christianity. Had he been a conservative Christian preacher and then gone into politics, that would be more like desertion.
