Amen. Satan can't possess a Christian but he can oppress a Christian and force them to do things against their will.

No, there is no way that satan can make a Christian do things against their will, please proved the Scriptural evidence
for what you believe. You are actually contradicting yourself, for satan to make someone do something against their will that is possession, not oppression.

Here's what the Word of God says in I John 4:1-6, we need to look at 3:24 as to who are His children
“Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God,[d] and God[e] in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.”

Now let's look at I John 4:1-6 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.5 They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them.6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”

He who is in us is greater than he that is in the world or the devil. If a person is a true believer has the Spirit in them and I do not see how the Spirit that is IN usI do not see the Spirit and the devil living in the same temple our body, because He is great then he that is in the world, which is the devil and is false spirits.

Many people harbor unforgiveness and anger at other people and don't realize how that gives Satan a foothold in their life and and opening to whisper lies into their minds.

For God has told us "Be angry but do not sin, do not let the sun set upon your anger, do not give place to the devil"

And if a brother has sinned against you, lay your gift on the altar and recoil with him before sacrificing to God,

Example of a N/T Saint.

Do your diligence to come shortly unto me. For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. 2 Timothy 4:9-10
This is not an example of a person Demas being oppressed by a demon.. The scriptures simply say Demas abandoned Paul.. He probably fell away from the Gospel .. God knows.. But this does not say Demas was under attack from demons..

He can oppress, but he cannot make you do anything against your will. Thats false.Otherwise win didn't commit the sin,the devil made us do it.How could God hold us accountable?

That’s like asking if a Christian can get sick. God uses demons to bring about His Will- to tempt and test us, and to bring about sickness as a punishment for sin- even if it is not personally your sin.

You can be punished for someone elses sin?!

No he can't force them to do things against their will.

He can make them think they have no other choice but that would be a lie..God always has a way out of temptation.

I agree no demonic possession of Christians but definite oppression.

Folks listen to the whispers ofbdempns too often. Mostly in their night terror and often they aren't even concious the thought isn't even their own,

There is a difference between our spirit and our body.

Sorry sister, you got there before me.I should have read the whole tread before responding.

Demon Oppression

Demon spirits function in two ways, either by demon possession or demon oppression. It is not possible for a Believer to be demon possessed. Paul said:

"Know you not that you are the Temple of God (where the Holy Spirit abides), and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (That makes the Born-Again Believer His permanent Home)" (1 Cor. 3:16).

Paul also said:

"You cannot drink the Cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils (if we are going to associate with demons, the Lord will not remain): you cannot be partakers of the Lord's Table (the Lord's Supper), and of the table of devils (that which the world offers)" (1 Cor. 10:21).

Demon possessed, no! Demon oppressed, yes! In fact, every single Christian who has ever lived has been oppressed by demon spirits at one time or the other. The Scripture also says concerning this:

"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with Power (as a Man, Christ needed the Holy Spirit, as we certainly do as well! in fact, everything He did was by the Power of the Spirit): Who went about doing good (everything He did was good), and healing all who were oppressed of the Devil (only Christ could do This, and Believers can do such only as Christ empowers them by the Spirit); for God was with Him (God is with us only as we are with Him)" (Acts 10:38).

Demon oppression can cause certain types of physical illnesses, emotional disturbances, nervous disorders, etc. When one is oppressed by demon spirits, it feels like there is a hundred pounds of weight on his shoulders. It is the major cause of depression. There's only on cure for this, and that is, once again, the Cross of Christ.

Believe it or not but some people have this bizarre idea that Adam's sin was IMPUTED to each one of us! But Scripture is crystal clear that each and every person is accountable only for their own sins. Even Eve did not have Adam's sin imputed to her.

Romans 5:12-14King James Version (KJV)

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

What we see here is that Adam's transgression brought the curse of sin and death upon all mankind. That is the outcome of his transgression, not the imputation of his sin to everyone (which would make all guilty for one man's sin). Each one is guilty for their own sins.

Bitterness can spring up when we fail to Love and forgive.. every day we battle.. GOD keeps us and gives us victory.. but we must grow in Grace and knowledge.. GOD strengthening the armour as we grow.

So Demons have the power to make a Christian sick?
No they have the power to torment a person and tempt them to make stupid choices like do drugs, drink, not forgive others, etc.
.
Their actions (getting drunk, eating junk food, not exercising, being exposed to plastics that cause cancer, etc) ,the stress, and the nature of the world all factor into making folks sick.

However we have one divine Healer and the promise that these bodies are just temporary tents. We are strangers in this world on our way home, but while we are here we have been entrusted to be our Heavenly Father's ambassadors to a world in need of His light and love.

I don't believe in imputed sin.,in that we are found guilty, but I do believe we suffer because of the sinful nature of mankind in general.

People starve to death because those who have are not faithful to give to the hungry and poor.
If you are healthy and eat well, you are less likely to get leprosy, just study the life of Mother Teresa and her work with lepers.

However I do believe in imputed righteousness of Christ

[SUP]24 [/SUP]And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,[SUP]25 [/SUP]In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;[SUP]26 [/SUP]And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. 2 Timothy 2:24-26

Most Christians are captives of Satan by not understanding the Cross is the full armor of God for the Believer. If the Believer does not understand that the Cross of Christ is as necessary for sanctification as it is for salvation (1 Cor. 1:18), you are Satan captive. You are being forced to do things against your will.

Unless a Born-again Believer makes the Cross the object of his Faith, which then gives him the help of the Holy Spirit, he is helpless against Satan, who will make him or her his captive, .i.e., "in bondage to sin" (Gal. 5:1).
