The Pope is not the Antichrist. It is obvious from reading Scripture that the Antichrist comes to power at a specific time which is at the start of the tribulation. The office of Pope and the Catholic church have been around for centuries. Apart from that despite various errors and heresies the Catholic Church still retains a semblance of Christianity. The Antichrist will not tolerate any other form of worship other than that of himself. We shouldn't let hatred of Catholicism blind us to the truth.

2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The Tribulation of Satan being the subject, the deception and falling away Paul taught .

Drawing on the foolish and wise virgins .
If they are said to be pregnant, they cannot be virgins . If a Christian is worshiping a false Christ, they cannot be said anymore to be Christian.

The elect, can be considered Barron in this sense because they Watch for those signs, its not something unexpected to them.
Blessed are the barren if the end times, for they will be able to stand before the Lord..
