At work I asked a patient if he wanted to list a religion, part of my job. He said with enthusiasm I am a born again Christian. I told him I believe him because of how he said it. I remember, when my car broke down, so I was walking along the freeway and the truck driver that pulled up said no one here but me and the Lord. SoI knew this knew this person was Saved. The word "Christian" is so generic. What is a Christian vrs. a "Christian". Not just in word but in deed?

There is a vast difference between a Christian by title and a Christian by heart. Anyone can call themselves a Christian they can go to church every Sunday they can pray they can do good deeds and can even know the bible like the back of their hand but that isn't what makes a Christian.

The word Christian in the worlds eyes brings to mind all kinds of feelings and thoughts and not many are good ones, the world does not see Christians in a good light not because of what and who we stand for but rather because of who and what we don't stand for, no one likes a phony. The funny thing is we the body of Christ say the very same thing about our fellow believers and for good reason. It's one thing if the world sees and thinks of us this way but for us to conclude what they say is really saying something.

There are Christians and there are "nominal" Christians.
There are genuine believers and there are make believers.

The prepositional phrase's: "In Christ" "In Him" "In Whom". Are positional statements Paul uses over 100 times in scripture.

The difference of a true Christian & a person that only claims to be. Is the ""in""dwelling Holy Spirit. An instantaneous positional transformation that happens to every believer. This transformation begins the lifetime process of sanctification.

John 14:20 Jesus said, At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

Christian = Christ-IN-us

Amen! Romans 8:9 - But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

And we can tell the difference by how they act.

A good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. By their fruits you will know them.

I just read your testimony, thank you for being such a light to us all.

A Christian is a person with Christ in them. I suppose we may not always act like it and are thankful for God's grace.
As you know the cross has made all this possible.

I think " " usually identifies a little self-righteous prejudice on the part of the writer. (Not saying they aren't necessarily correct.... but, the " " could also apply to them.)
