Numbers 25, the grandson of Salu whose father is Simeon (son of Jacob) is killed by Phineas.
Salu is spelled Shaul in Exodus 6. His mother was a Canaanite.
Shaul is pronounced Shah-OOL as Saul is pronounced Sah-OOL.
What the apostle Paul changed his name, the pronunciation changed to gentile Paul.
The Shaulites are counted in Numbers 26 as part of the tribe of Simeon.
Who has trouble with the sh sound?
The tribe of Ephraim can't say Shibboleth. Judges 12:6
Joshua son of Nun was of Ephraim. First Chronicles 7:20-27.
Ephraim moved to the promise land before Israel became slaves to Egypt.
Ephraim's sons were killed by the men of Gath when they tried to steal cattle.
Ephraim was never a slave so Joshua didn't have a slave's mentality (I work for master, Master gives me food.)
This is why the original 600000 Israelites had to die because their children learned to trust God for manna. God was their Master.
