Something wonderful about the transliterated names of God is very much a blessing to know.

Yahweh, yod hay vav hay, may be translated. The early translation was I am, or I am that I am, and this is fine while speaking Elizabethan English and understanding it, but in today's English it may be said to say "Self-Existing."

Yeshua, Jesus, may be translated as the Anointed of the Self-Existing.

Of course those are a mouthful, but it is very much a blessing to always
keep the meanings of Elohanu's titles in the forefront of our conciousness
while using them.

No man knows God's eternal name, only His fame and His attributes.

It is written in Zephaniah that come the Kingdom, God will return to all a pure
tongue (language) so all may call upon Him by One Name...

Mat 7:12, “So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do also to and for them, for this is (the intent/sums up) the Law and the Prophets.”

YHWH’s Commands are love explained by Himself, the only one that knows the true standard of love:

1 John 5:2-3, “By this we know that we love the children of Yah, when we love Yah and guard His commands. For this is the love for Yah, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy.”

The person who says they know Him and does not guard His Commands i called a liar in Scripture:

1 John 2:3-7, “And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands. The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Yah has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked. Beloved, I write no fresh command to you, but an old command which you have had from the beginning. The old command is the Word which you heard from the beginning.”

Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth.”

1 John 2:24, "As for you, let that stay in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning stays in you, you also shall stay in the Son and in the Father."

Deuteronomy 6:5, “And you shall love יהוה your Strength with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might.”

Leviticus 19:18, ‘Do not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the children of your people. And you shall love your neighbour as yourself. I am יהוה.”

Mat 22:37-40, “Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. (Deut 6:5) This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Lev 19:18) On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Anyone that teaches a way of loving YHWH and our fellow human different than what He says is teaching falsehood.

Exodus 20:6, “But showing love to thousands who love Me by keeping My Laws.”

John/Yahanan 14:15, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

Exodus 20:3-17,

Mat 22:37-40, “Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. (Deut 6:5) This is the first and greatest commandment...”

Greek Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar)
1) all, whole, completely

Matt 5:18, "For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh--the smallest of the letters--will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected."

Revelation 21:1-2, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no more sea. And I, Yahanan, saw the holy city, YHWH Shammah, coming down from YHWH out of heaven, prepared as brides adorned for their husbands. And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying: Behold, the tabernacle of YHWH is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and YHWH Himself will be with them, and be their Father.”
Why do some people choose to mutilate the word of God? For example (one of many examples in this post!),

Rev. 21:1.
(NA28)

Rev. 21:2. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev. 21:3. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,” (NASB, 1995)

How do we love GOD and love our neighbor?
The Bible said that a great light had come Into the world but men loved darkness,so then how would men love GOD and their neighbor unless GOD first loves them, for we are HIS workmanship created In Christ unto good works that was before ordained that we should walk In them.

Remember JESUS magnified the law to TRUTH,I’m talking about the Inward man and man was not able to be true perfectly from the Inside.

The Pharisees were doing the same things that they were accusing the gentiles of doing,Its just that the Pharisees were not doing the same things the gentiles were doing outwardly.

The gentiles were more truthful than the Pharisees because they were doing things Inwardly and outwardly but the Pharisees were not doing these things outwardly but they were doing the same things Inwardly.

These two commandments mean nothing to any who do not understand that all the law hangs on these two, for they are the first to say they love from teh mouth without doing, that is abiding by, those laws that hand upon them.

This would be tantamout to honoring our Father only with the mouth with a heart far from Him.

Rev. 21:1.
(NA28)

Rev. 21:1. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.
Rev. 21:2. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

Everyone has their own views but if kyrios and theoe means or can mean YHWH I see no Issue. Also translators of the septuagint 2,000 years ago thought these words were equivalent. Maybe you think they mutilate the word?

So, you decided that whenever NT uses Lord or God, you will automatically put YHWH into it, even though its just one possible translation of 30.

Nice.

Also, ignoring that NT was not translating anything, so you should not map it back to Hebrew, anyway.

Pick, pick, pick...

Zephanyah 3:9, "Yes, at that time I will return to the peoples a pure language, so that all of them may call on the Name of YHWH, and serve Him with one accord."

Jeremiah 23:26-27, "How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Yes, they are prophets of the deceit of their own minds; Who devise; plan and scheme, to cause My people to forget My Name through their dreams, which they tell every man to his neighbor, just as their fathers have forgotten My Name for Baal (Lord)."

The Encyclopedia Judaica, Volume 7 page 680
The personal name... written in the Hebrew Bible with the four consonants YHWH and is referred to as the "Tetragrammaton." At least until the destruction of the First Temple in 586 B.C.E. this name was regularly pronounced with its proper vowels, as is clear from the Lachish Letters, written shortly before that date. But at least by the third century B.C.E. the pronunciation of the name YHWH was avoided and Adonai,"the Lord,"was substituted for it.

Word #H136 - Adonay: Adonay: Lord - Original Word: אֲדֹנָי - Transliteration: Adonay - Phonetic Spelling: (ad-o-noy') - Short Definition: Lord

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia - ADONAI
a-do'-ni, ad-o-na'-i ('adhonay): A Divine name, translated "Lord," and signifying, from its derivation, "sovereignty." Its vowels are found in the Massoretic Text with the unpronounceable tetragrammaton YHWH; and when the Hebrew reader came to these letters, he always substituted in pronunciation the word " 'adhonay," (Lord). Its vowels combined with the tetragrammaton form the word "YHWH (YHWH)."

Also look into it the original copies of the LXX used YHWH...

If I say right now "Lord is giving me blessings today", you should not map this sentence of mine back to Hebrew and put "adonai" into it.

Its a pushing of your ideas into the text where they are not. By "lord" I mean "lord". Nothing else.

And thats what you are doing with the New Testament.

Hebrew Roots movement has no interest in the message of the NT. It is contrary to their movement. The only way they can mask the NT message is to map it back to Hebrew in ways that dilute or destroy its true meaning.

Everyone has their own views but if kyrios and theoe means or can mean YHWH I see no Issue. Also translators of the septuagint 2,000 years ago thought these words were equivalent. Maybe you think they mutilate the word?
The Greek word κύριος is NOT a proper noun, and therefore it cannot possibly mean יהוה because יהוה is a proper noun! Moreover, the Tetragrammaton יהוה is never used in the Greek New Testament, or in any manuscripts of the Greek New Testament. The Greek word θεός may be either a common noun or a proper noun, but when it represents the same concept of the Hebrew word אֱלֹהִים, which is not a proper noun, θεός cannot possibly mean יהוה because יהוה is a proper noun!

Regarding the determination of proper names in Hebrew,
§125. Determination of Nouns in general. Determination of Proper Names.
Brockelmann, Grundriss, i. 466 ff.

125a1. A noun may either be determinate in itself, as a proper name or pronoun (see below, d and i), or be made so by its context. In the latter case, the determination may be effected either by prefixing the article (see § 126), or by the connexion of the noun (in the construct state) with a following determinate genitive, and consequently also (according to §33c) by its union with a pronominal suffix (§127a). It is to be taken as a fundamental rule, that the determination can only be effected in one of the ways here mentioned; the article cannot be prefixed to a proper name, nor to a noun followed by the genitive, nor can a proper name be used in the construct state. Deviations from this rule are either only apparent or have arisen from a corruption of the text. (Gesenius' Hebrew Grammar, p. 401)

Well the translators of the Septuagint did at times translate YHWH into kurios. They were hebrews who lived 2,000 years ago and were chosen for their knowledge in Hebrew, Greek and Scriptual understanding, while I would not say they are perfect they most likely knew Hebrew and Konie Greek better than anyone alive today.

Here is a list of words translated as kurios, you will see YHWH is one of them;

Love for God and our Neighbor can be a summery of the Ten commandments and the ten commandments can be expanded to 100 if you wish.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they
that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
(Thou shall have no other Gods before me, and Thou shall not covert)
Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Luk 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

Mar 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Mar 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
Mar 7:10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Rom 7:8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
Rom 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
Rom 7:10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
Rom 7:11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

1Jn 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

It's good to clarify that this two commandments belong to Old Covenant (Matthew 22.36). The greatest commandment of the Grace is:

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." (John 13.34,35).

I am not Hebrew Roots, my problem is not with any New Testament Word's, I believe and agree with them all as do many in this forum. It's not the NT Word's, but those who twist these words to further their ancient religious traditions of men that troubles me.

For instance, I have seen many, who follow your general religious doctrine, who preach that in Col. 2, Jesus was battling with God over His Laws which you all preach are against us. That these Laws are "rudiments of the World" "Traditions of Men", "Vain deceit" and that Jesus "Spoiled God" and exposed Him as the principality and power that condemned Him. That Jesus "Made a show of God openly" when He nailed God's Words to the cross that you all preach were against us, contrary to us.

It is my understanding that You preach that Jesus "Triumphed over God" in nailing His Word's(that were against us) to the Cross.

This is not true. I have made the case, as has several others, that this preaching doesn't line up with Jesus's own Word's not to mention volumes of Scriptures which are contrary to this teaching. But it is a foundational pillar of your doctrine and has been for centuries. So it is simpler to just follow the religious tradition regardless of whether it is from God or from man. Those who followed the Pharisees did the exact same thing.

This is only one example, there are many more. I have tried, in my faulty human existence, to have the conversation about truth vs. traditions but have found few interested enough to question their own beliefs on the matter. It is much simpler to just "be saved" by some nice sounding preacher than it is to really "SEEK" what the Book is teaching.

It is much easier to call anyone who would question your religious traditions a legalist, or Hebrew Roots cult, or any of a number of other names, than it is to try and understand their questions about religious teachings "many" who come in Christ's Name preach, that Jesus warned us to "Take Heed" of in His Word.

If you preach that Jesus "triumphed over God" on the cross, then it is you are "masking" the New Testament teaching.
