I am looking for preachers to listen to in my quiet time away from the bible
Rosemary, have you ever listened to Dr. John Neufeld, of Back to the Bible Canada? He is the person I most frequently recommend to those looking for online expositional teachers :) They have a website, and can also be heard as part of the kari radio program, which is available online as well :) Kari features many different teachers throughout the day :)

Read Romans 6 water baptism by full immersion and what it means to both us and to the Lord

Romans 7 is about the conflict that begins between sinful desires and the weakness of the flesh (our carnal selves) - O wretched man that I am who will deliver me from this body of death?

Romans 8 is about the Spirit-filled Christian overcoming this through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit and the love of God

Romans 12 is on Christian living.

Don't overcomplicate your walk with too much theology. We are to be like children keeping it simple and learning of love, kindness, gentleness, self-control, faithfulness, being prayerful always.

The epistles are your greatest guide to Christian living - for in them are instructions and guidance to disciples on how to stop sinning and on how to live to righteousness that is pleasing to God.

Remember being a Christian is a child parent relationship.
Our Father who are in heaven ...
Thank you Wiggles...This comment of yours has put me back on track :)...I am still new to the word , seeking and thinking I am not learning much , reaching out further than what God is showing me , but your comment has made me realize that I am young in the word , and only He or Almighty God can lead me , but I do stretch my neck out on who to listen to in my quiet time , it seems no one has it right beyond the word...But I am truly looking for someone to listen to , yet man can not get it right so it seems , who can I find to help me to grow out side the word...xox...

What MacArthur said should have really been clarified. Since God knows the end from the beginning, He already knew who would believe on the Christ and be saved, and he already predestined them to be glorified with Christ. He also saw -- in His Divine foreknowledge -- that Christ would surely be crucified and died for our sins. But "We were in Christ before the foundation of the world" can only be seen as what was in God's mind through His foreknowledge. It became a reality only after the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
But does that mean we were not in Christ before the foundations of the world...If God knew who are His , then He must know we were in Christ before hand...xox...

Hi Rosemaryx,
I'm neither for nor against Dr. MacArthur on this matter, but I will encourage you to "examine everything, and hold on to the good" (1 Thess 5:21) and to be like the Bereans (Acts 17:11). No matter who the preacher is, no matter how consistently sound, no matter his take on other matters, check out what he's saying against what the Bible says. Scripture is always the standard against which we are to test the claims people--even famous preachers-- make. You note that you're newish to the faith; as you learn the Word better, you will be able to identify more quickly whether or not someone's message is consistent with Scripture. :)
Hi Dino...To be honest , I feel like taking time out from everything and just reading the word of God...I feel as if I am reading the word and then going to others to clarify , I do not mean that I doubt the word , NEVER, but I need clarification to help me , I am alone when I read , I need help , It seems every preacher out there someone has something to say about them...I know that no one can be 100% accurate , but who is a sound preacher outside the word of God...xox...

That is the "U" of Calvin's unconditional lection in TULIP.
Magenta...Ii do not know what Tulip means to be honest...I am confused because to be honest I have stopped watching Joyce Meyers , not because I wanted to but because of what the bible says about women being submissive to their husbands , her husband is always sitting in the front row , regardless Ii will not say anything beyond that as she has has taught me many things , especially about abuse , but now I am looking to find someone as in male to listen to , I like Justin Peters , but he talks a lot about the WOF , that is not what I am looking for...

I am looking for someone to help me in my walk , but I am coming to think there is no one because everyone has something against someone lol...xox...

So does that mean John Mac is right in what he has said...xox...
He was right if properly explained and understood (which he really should have done). Divine foreknowledge and accomplished facts are NOT the same. We have numerous prophecies of Christ regarding His sufferings and His sacrifice, but until they were accomplished, they were not spiritual facts -- just spiritual certainties.

Ok...But he said we were in Christ before the foundations...Does this have anything to do with that God knew who was His , we are chosen , so if we were chosen , we must be in Christ in living , death and resurrection ...It is above my head as I do not understand , but did God not know who are His , sure Hhe did , so were we not with Christ before He was born , just trying to get my head around that...xox...

No we were NOT with Christ in fact before He was born and before He actually accomplished His finished work of redemption. It was only in God's foreknowledge that believers were already seen in Christ. Hope this helps.

I don't think anyone really understands this "from the foundation of the world" statement - it's somewhat of a mystery and not something I dwell on. We are dealing with a Hebrew "mind set".

I was just wondering why John Mccarthy would say we were in Christ before the foundations of the world , we were in His death on the cross , buried with Him and rose with Him , and now are seated with Him on the right hand hand side of God...The hidden in Christ I get , we died with Him etc , but what drew him to say we were with Him before the foundations , we were with Him before He were born...xox...

I dunno Rose, I think it's one kind of theological "understanding" that builds up to an edifice of writings.

Hi all...I have a question or two about John MacArthur ...I have been listening to him over these past days and like what I am hearing , now I have been walking with our LORD for just over two years , so I am looking for preachers to listen to in my quiet time away from the bible , and this is what John said in one of his sermons...We were in Christ before the foundation of the world , we were on the cross with Him , we were in the tomb with Him , and now we are risen with Him...

I find this amazing , a new insight for me , which brings me to ask:confused: , now is here where I am stuck , can someone help me and thank you...Sorry if I come across confused , but this says to me that we have always been with Jesus before He was born on the earth , I have so much growing to do...xox...
Hey Rosemary! I was wondering, do you know the name of the sermon? If so, I'd like to listen then give some input. Or, you can tell me where you heard it, and I can look into it. Thank you!

No problem, just paste the address as a reply without using the "link" function above. In other words just copy it, then paste it as a reply and I'll get there instead of trying to highlight a word, then trying to use the link function.

I'll show you what I mean, I'm going to post the link to this page from the address bar up top: http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/162600-listening-john-mac-2.html#post3427992

I can take that and get to it as is.

Wondering if it is in 1 John, his series "Tests of Assurance from 1 John?"
