We will not live as God wants us to by only satisfying our physical desires and even needs.

Bread and all grains have a lot of carbs in it, that makes you fat. No way you could live off of that alone. You need some meat in your diet, like that of the lamb, or the word of God.

So when are you going to add some meat to your diet?

Well I've heard meat is good brain food.

And I've heard the word of God can be enlightening.

And those clothed in the blood of the lamb all have white "robes"

Cheers Tommy 379...

How do you feed your spirit/soul?

Is it just like a positive feeling, like laughter, or a good song, or romance?

The answers in the verse . The full verse .
Christ wasn't speaking in parable.
It's a matter of fact statement .

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written,
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Christ is quoting Deuteronomy :
He is directing Christians to learn all of Gods words.That includes the OT.

Deuteronomy 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger,
and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know;
that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every
word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

You know Christ is concerned with the life or death of the soul .

All the words of God, build the spirit and soul. It brings about righteous acts in a true believer
weaving fine linen they wear in heaven .

Christ was accused of the scribe and pharasess of not fallowing their traditions about washing hands..
The the explanation of this parable.

Matthew 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man;
but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Matthew 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

If what comes out is the words of God, that brings life.
Christ is the living water for example .
without water you die .

Without Gods words, which also foretell of Christ, you will die in your sins .
It was one of the main warnings

if what comes out is of self, and confusion of the world, that beings death.

Tommy 379 seemed to offer a pretry good ice breaker into how so...
M'thinks you are restricting your thinking a bit too literally. Most of the Bible is metaphorical when speaking of our Spiritual well-being in terms of everyday things and happenings.

Trying to figure out the literal meanings of phrases...

M'thinks this can help give the subject matter greater relevance

Which is exactly what I did. You brought it back down to just talking about what foods you eat.

How do you feel it. Or how does it feel?

You feel it by being Watered and absorbing the Word of God. We experience the blessing of being watered by the Word every time we come to read the Bible.

How does it feel: yes it feels positive.

You can use that analogy if you want the outcome is the same.

if you want to "build" a good relationship with a woman you like for example ;
you'd better choose your tools wisely. But if you bring tools to a date, you might come up short .

And all that could have been built with that person comes to naught .

If a soul doesn't have the words becoming eternal life, you're soul is going to die of thirst.

People sometimes need to fall before they look up....

When we look up. God offers a way, to eternal life. to do that, we learn from His words.
That changes the heart .or mind deserving of Eternal life.
