Our battle is not against acts of sin, but the fight is to keep our faith in who Christ is and what He did on the Cross, so we stay in His death, burial, and resurrection and are, therefore, victorious. This is the only way we triumphant in Christ (2 Cor. 2:14). Jesus told Paul that the power of Christ could only help him when he realized how weak he himself was, and that he had to totally depend on Christ so God's power could work in and through him (2 Cor. 12:9). Most Christians are prisoners of war held captive by Satan (2 Tim. 2:24-26).
The power of sin was already broken on the Cross, so Believers do not have to keep fighting that battle. Therefore, our weapons are not carnal (2 Cor. 10:4), or something we can produce ourselves and use to accomplish our victory.

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me...To proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound." Isaiah 61:1

It has to do with you because you posed the question how to prove me wrong.
You have some sort problem with a publication I have never heard of. It's not an excuse to label an entire group of Christians as crazy.

Charismatics just love false doctrines. When I was born again I was able to comprehend the Bible for the first time. I had a hunger to study it. But these people won't. They listen to their "apostles" "prophets" instead. Why do they do that if they are born again?
What is a Charismatic? I have heard of that Christian position along time ago, but I have no idea what or who they are.

I used to attend a Charismatic church. The pastor used to say things like "if you aren't a multi millionaire then you really don't know God!". After the service I would ask some of the people what they thought of that statement and none of them knew what I was talking about. One was the associate pastor asked me what service and where was he while this was said? I told him he was was sitting right there in the front row. I had to get CD copies of the sermons to prove to people what that pastor actually said. I would confront that pastor on several statements of his and one time he told me, "you are the only one who listens to everything I say." So, it wouldn't supprise me that you would deny what you are being taught.

The are a branch of Pentecostalism that prefers false doctrines over Biblical Christianity. They are prolific on t.v. so you can watch one every day if you want.

Why are they called Charismatic? Has it anything to do with Charisma based attitudes.

"Charis" is the Greek for the gifts of the Spirit. They focus on manifestations or so called "spiritual" experiences as their ultimate authority for doctrine rather than the Word of God, the Bible.

You can't be baptized in the Holy Spirit without the evidence of speaking in tongues. What? you are just going to assume that you are without evidence. Jesus did not leave us ignorant.
This is where charismatics lose their credibility.

We are not without evidence but tongues are a sign not of salvation but
to unsaved Jews.

Christians have the witness of the Spirit with our spirit that we are His.

Ro 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

For the cause of Christ

This post has the ring of authenticity since kaylagrl is actually Pentecostal and saw her church hijacked by Charismatics. What she has described confirms that the Charismatics prefer to see a circus atmosphere rather than sound Gospel preaching and Bible teaching.
While I agree many Charismatics like to color outside the line so to speak,I cannot lump all into one group. That being said, the things I went through clearly were not of God,I wondered if any of them were even Christians.

We must be careful of trends in churches. Even with things like worship. I went to an AofG church a few weeks back for a concert. The regular worship team opened first. They had strobe lights, loud instruments and songs that repeated words like a parakeet. I was in music ministry so when I say something is loud its LOUD. I sat there thinking what was the difference between this and a bar down the street.Their people got up,young and old and jumped up and down like robots trying to work up something... Then the special music got up and he sang old hymns of the church and to was a totally different atmosphere. I'm not against new music but since when do we need a team of 20 singers to cause us to worship? Half of them couldn't find a tune in a bucket. We try everything to get people into church and entertain them, everything but the gospel. When did the Old Rugged Cross become passe? smh I don't like what I see in churches today. And we wonder why the world is the mess its in.

The vast majority of tv evangelists peddle this. We have a dear friend who is a evangelist and believes this way. He also believed a Christian could never be ill, until his wife passed away.I think it made him take a second look at some of the rhetoric he had been preaching. I totally believe in healing and I can't say why all are not healed but I'm not part of the name it,claim it,blab it and grab it crew. They have done much damage to the church.

...continued. ..whereas Charismatics believe any of the gifts are evidence of being filled or Baptized in the Holy Spirit.
Sorry you are very wrong here. At least get your focus/facts straight before asking people to prove you right.

Wrong again hero.

The Romans 12 grace gifts are different than the 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit in 1 Cor 12, which are not grace given, but distributed severally as the Holy Spirit wills.

Again, stop attacking if you are not going to get your focus/facts right. Your proving you are only out to spread a root of bitterness you are entwined with.

I just love it when someone tries to educate Full Gospel believers on things they don't believe!
