How did you get saved? Do you have to do anything to keep your salvation? If not why? If you do why and how do you keep it? Simple questions...

Simple questions but too personal for the whole world to read. Discuss what Scripture means by "salvation" (since it is multi-faceted) and how God saves a soul.

Personally I am not focused on salvation or getting into heaven, I am more focused on how to live a godly life with the time I have left.

Oh, very interesting... What go you think of Y-shua/Jesus? What is importance to you personally? Tell me about the time you have left ... what does that mean...

That is a really strange response if you consider yourself a Christian. The time you have left means nothing in the light of eternity, so what about your eternal destiny? It is either Heaven or Hell.

Oh, I love when people speak freely... I want to hear them and tell them about my Y-shua! Maybe someone will be saved... Maybe not... but I have a name now to pray for even if it is an online name.... I want to hear them out.... I bet they have a lot to say... We should reason together...

Simple question? This forum is filled with aggressive debates over whether or not you can lose your salvation. It's a frequent and heated topic that constantly arises.

I got saved when I obeyed the gospel by doing the same in baptism. 1 Peter 3:21 says “baptism saves.” It saves by putting us into Christ’s death- where He shed His life-saving blood. And yes I need to stay saved. There are scriptures such as “if you remain faithful till the end.” And “If you sin willingly there no longer remains a sacrifice for your sins.”

Universal salvation says that all of mankind is saved. Believers are gathered at the start of the 1,000 year reign and the rest are gathered at the end of it.

Lu:3:6:
And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

1Co:15:39:
All flesh is not the same flesh:
but there is one kind of flesh of men,
another flesh of beasts,
another of fishes,
and another of birds.

How about the dead that hear the same Gospel?

1Pe:4:5:
Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
1Pe:4:6:
For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead,
that they might be judged according to men in the flesh,
but live according to God in the spirit.

So what does that mean? ... That is ambiguous... Are you a politician?... I should vote for you... you do it well...

Salvation is through grace; a gift of God for those that believe in the son. John 3:16 for God so loved the world he sent his only begotten son, that who ever shall believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. then to answer then next question: Gospel of John chapter 10:27-30 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[c]; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”

Hi! No it is very simple; if God calls you home he is taking you; therefore from this moment until God calls you home this is the time you have left. No one knows what the next moment or hour or day will bring. God can call anyone in the twinkling of an eye. Therefore, be prepared always; have faith in Jesus, be born again. Give God glory!!

I was saved as a young man, For months I would pray in my bedroom asking God to save me, but I never really understood what that meant, One day, someone took me aside and showed me from scriptures what it meant, At that point, I entrusted God with my eternity, and asked him to save a wretched soul such as myself.

At that point, My fear turned to hope, By despair turned to joy, and my life changed forever.

About a year later, I was finally able to be baptized, and I have since spent my life (when I was on track) studying the word and trying to get the God who says he loves me.

As for my salvation, It is secure in Christ, His work, His promises, His love, His assurance, He is my Abba Father, He gave me eternal life, He said I would never die, live forever, never hunger or thirst, and be raised..

I am his son, but for the grace of God only.

I came to receive Jesus Christ through faith several years ago on a late Saturday night. About a month prior to that, my mother in law had passed away and I was thinking very seriously about the afterlife. Soon after she had passed away, I remember asking Jesus Christ that whatever it takes to get me to heaven, just put the answer right in front of my face so that I will know with absolute assurance here is the answer and now it's up to me to accept the truth.

I had no assurance of salvation prior to my conversion because I was trusting in works for salvation and not in Christ alone. Also, just prior to my conversion, I had read through a gospel tract that really caught my attention which led me to thoroughly search through the Scriptures.

I knew the Lord was drawing me (John 6:44). Finally, after reading through the book of Romans and eventually the book of Ephesians, I came to Ephesians 2:8,9 and that's when the light came on! I had then placed my faith (belief, trust, reliance) in Christ alone for salvation and knew without a doubt that I had become born again! Praise the Lord!
:)

I remember over the years how several people had tried to explain the gospel to me, but at that time the truth just went right over my head, but right after my conversion, I could look back and say, "that's what he meant, that's what she meant, that's what they meant!"

On Sunday morning, I was water baptized at a Baptist church where some friends of ours attended and I gave about a 5-10 minute testimony just before I was baptized on how I had finally come to receive Christ through faith, but in the past had been trusting in works for salvation and had previously attended two different churches that falsely taught salvation by works.

The Philippian jailer asked the same question and the apostles gave him an answer.

Ac 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

Answer.

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

For the cause of Christ

This isn't Christian, Universalism is heresy. You are misapplying scripture.
