Like the title says. Asking each one posting to please not read other posts (if, anyone responds..), until you post YOUR definition of just what "criteria" must be met or fulfilled, for YOU to consider if its what YOU consider tribulation.

A period of trouble resulting in pain, distress, fear, worry, even mortal death etc...either from ones own actions or persecution by others.
On the other hand, trials and tribulation is a way that God allows us to suffer through something we ourselves have caused to teach us to seek Him and His will, His wisdom, and to put our faith and trust in Him.

Tribulation- persecution for any reason. For Christians it started when Peter began to preach to Gentiles according to Acts:10. From there until the trumps begin to sound these verses apply and they would be resurrected when Re:20:4 unfolds. Resting is the same as being asleep.

2Th:1:6-9:
Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
And to you who are troubled rest with us,
when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God,
and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord,
and from the glory of his power;

Tribulation associated with the trumps- your life is under thread from the effects of the first 4 trumps as they change the world in 4 days from being a place of freedom to being under Martial Law. The 5th and 6th trumps start a period of 42 months that are the worst tribulation the world will see. 1/3 of all people will be killed by 4 fallen angels that manifest into reality as the 200M horsemen from the 6th trump. Those two trumps are also called the first woe and the second woe. The 3rd and last woe is Christ ridding the world of Satan forever.

Re:7:1-3:
And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth,
holding the four winds of the earth,
that the wind should not blow on the earth,
nor on the sea,
nor on any tree.
And I saw another angel ascending from the east,
having the seal of the living God:
and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels,
to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Saying,
Hurt not the earth,
neither the sea,
nor the trees,
till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

De:4:29:
But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God,
thou shalt find him,
if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
When thou art in tribulation,
and all these things are come upon thee,
even in the latter days,

if thou turn to the LORD thy God,
and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;)
he will not forsake thee,
neither destroy thee,
nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Re:11:1:
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod:
and the angel stood,
saying,
Rise,
and measure the temple of God,
and the altar,
and them that worship therein.
Re:11:2:
But the court which is without the temple leave out,
and measure it not;
for it is given unto the Gentiles:
and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

Re:12:14-17:
And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle,
that she might fly into the wilderness,
into her place,
where she is nourished for a time,
and times,
and half a time,
from the face of the serpent.
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman,
that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
And the earth helped the woman,
and the earth opened her mouth,
and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
And the dragon was wroth with the woman,
and went to make war with the remnant of her seed,
which keep the commandments of God,
and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Great tribulation- The day the 7th trump sounds is the start of the period known as 'great tribulation' as it sends a few fallen angels to the fiery lake and kills all their human followers who are sent to the grave but sleep is denied them until there are before God at the Great White Throne event.

M't:24:21:
For then shall be great tribulation,
such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time,
no,
nor ever shall be.

The quake that happens when the 7th vial is poured out says the same thing. It affects people as they are under punishment until the GWT event. Jonah repented after 3 days and nights.

Re:2:22:
Behold,
I will cast her into a bed,
and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation,
except they repent of their deeds.

This judgment comes when the nations are judged, Jesus is the one in control. Satan is allowed to kill 1/3 of all people on the planet during the 3 1/2 years he is given and Jesus kills 2/3 of all the people on the planet in just 3 1/2 hours.

Re:7:14:
And I said unto him,
Sir,
thou knowest.
And he said to me,
These are they which came out of great tribulation,
and have washed their robes,
and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Re:7 sets the order of being gathered. The 144,000 are sealed first and they are alive at the end of the 2nd woe and that makes them living witnesses to how Jesus ends Satan's rule. The 1/3 that of all Gentiles that remain alive are also living witnesses but they are scattered about the globe. They end up walking to Jerusalem and they enter from the east so their first stop is at the river of living water and then they head for Jerusalem.

The 2nd group in Re:7 is all the people who come alive at the GWT event and they would make the Gentiles as whole as the 12 Tribes are at the end of the same day the vials are poured out.

This earth has bad parts that are a preview of what hell is like. We also have a few things that bring happiness, those are missing in hell and men are tormented like they are in the 5th trump. The fiery lake is hell for fallen angels and all the things that men experience will be what they experience. there are no babies or children in hell or the fiery lake so it is a bit different from what Job experienced. The two woes would be the same sort of things that Satan will use during the time he has.

The words translated as tribulation are the Hebrew tsoor and the Greek thlipsis. Both usually refer to persecution of God's faithful by unbelievers.

Romans 5:1-5 “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

Greek word: thlipsis

Thayer's: of the afflictions of those hard pressed by siege and the calamities of war, Matthew 24:21,29; Mark 13:19,24
Strong's: 1) a pressing, pressing together, pressure; 2) metaph. oppression, affliction, tribulation, distress, straits

Like the title says. Asking each one posting to please not read other posts (if, anyone responds..), until you post YOUR definition of just what "criteria" must be met or fulfilled, for YOU to consider if its what YOU consider tribulation.
The suffering affiliated with being born into a corrupted body of death as the wrath of God revealed as that which apposes the gospel of our good news..

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
