When a Brother or Sister comes to you and confides in you that he or she is living in spiritual bondage in some way, what do you say to them?

Part of me wants to say "What do you not want to say them?
I say that because we can say something that can add to the bondage.

So if it were me I would say something along the lines of.

Ok whats going on.

Encourage them to be totally honest warts and all with no condemnation.

Just listen to start with, let them talk.

Don't give advice (but do so if God lays it in your heart)

Tell them that you will walk with them all the way.

If they come to you they do so because they trust you.

Reassure that you will not discuss with others unless they agree for you to do so.

But also be aware that if they reveal something they have done or are doing that is extreme then it has to reported to the authority.

One example being child sexual abuse

Are you referencing the trauma to the child or the fact a pedo has an incurable condition? Mostly because they don'y want to stop like the sinner in 1Cor:5

How does the Born-again spirit filled Believer with the evidence of speaking in tongues oppose themselves and is taken captive by Satan at his will (2 Tim. 2:24-26)?

Spiritual failure may not necessarily be spiritual bondage. Peter denied Christ three times (failure) but he certainly was not in bondage. One would need to know a great deal about any person before giving any kind of suitable advice in this context. Then again, some people may imagine they are failures because they are comparing themselves to someone else.

Peter was in spiritual bondage. That is why Jesus told him, "And when you return, strengthen your Brother. He told Peter that He praying that his Faith doesn't fail.

Scripture, with a loving tone of voice and a compassionate heart with genuine concern for their spiritual wellbeing.

Nothing. I listen to them. When they finish, we pray together.

Amen. Grace and Kindness! But what is God's prescribe order of victory for spiritual failure?

If the 'born again' believers can do that why are they not healing all the sick in the hospitals as that was associated with the 'signs following'? It appears they have no special skills and if God sends you a message in a language that you cannot understand you are not a friend of God as He is speaking so you cannot understand His message. Not a good boat to be in IMO.

Remember, Paul said, "oh wretched man that I am." He was spirit filled! However in Romans 7, Paul continue to fail God. So, what did Paul learn to free a Brother and Sister from spiritual bondage?

I would ask them how did it come about and if they are seeking to be free and what they know of the promise of freedom God gives us in the Bible through the shed blood of Jesus.

Then I would listen and pray with them. What would you do?

This the same thing (nothing) and method (prayer) the Church uses. However they are still in bondage.
Do you know what listen means? People in bondage, know that they are in bondage. They are not looking for a lecture. They are looking for a way out. Believe it or not they know not only the way out, but every excuse to remain in bondage. Every time you listen, ever time you pray together will bring them closer to Christ and freedom.

You do remember how Jesus gathered Saul right? The light and the blindness and help coming that was sent to him. That hasn't happen again for anybody, ever.

When God baptized Jesus He went for a 40 day fast. When Jesus baptized the ones in a room on the night of His resurrection they also went through a 40 fast in the time He was with them.
Nobody has gone through a 40 fast like that so nobody has has baptism like that no matter how it is being marketed becoming a believer has no gifts other than a more relaxed heart. The Christian evangelicans do not have the best doctrine as they promote a 7 year trib and a rapture that lets believers escape that but they do get to come back and kill all the sinners for Jesus. Bit radicalized it seems.

Your answer is so much wiser than mine and what I wished I had thought to say and do,

Peter was in spiritual bondage.

That is just nonsense. Peter was restored to Christ within days of His resurrection and went on to use the "keys of the Kingdom" (the Gospel message) for both Jews and Gentiles. Read the book of Acts.

Or it could be that people realize that they do nothing because God does the heavy lifting in this case. However I believe listening and praying is MORE than nothing...IT may be nothing to the world but prayer has power in the spiritual realm.

It's God's power and truth and Holy Word that's sets people free of bondage not just of evil spirits but also spiritual strongholds in their minds created by lies and false doctrines

Speaking is often over rated...helping people learn to,listen to what the Holy spirit has already revealed them can be so much more edifying...

How can people learn to listen to God if others never listen to them or be quiet enough to pray and actually listen for God's answers?
