How do you mean?
Are you referring to the various ministries in a church
some to be pastors, some to be evangelists, prophets, teachers ...

Jesus is the head of the church [or ought to be so] and he works
in people's lives to endow them and to give conviction.

Lay aside pride and desire and simply learn to crawl and then to walk
in the Lord and his righteousness.
Pray on how may I serve you Lord?
How may I serve my brothers and sisters?

The Lord in his own time will show you the way.

How does some one discover his call?
You ask a very good question.

The amount of times I have wondered what my purpose in life, I have had to ask this a number of times.

I will try to answer your question based on what I have been going through my life. The amount of times I have messed up in the past, struggled, falling over, and at same time getting back up again.

Now in the past few years, I have been noticing a lot of changes with me. I no longer have the passion for a lot of the worldly matters, in many ways, I have become more distanced when it comes to worldly matters. When my grandfather died, it was around that moment that I started to feel something different in me, that I could feel inside of me that the old me was dying off, does this make sense? It is like around that moment I felt myself to really get into end times matters, studying, researching.

There have been moments in my life where I myself feel certain I have been watched over, and this I have noticed become more noticeable in the past few years.

My opinion, I think if you are at a point in your life that you just have no idea what your purpose is, there maybe a reason. Maybe it is just a matter of being patient and waiting.

Maybe Waggles has got a point. Learning how to crawl and then walking.

How does some one discover his call?
What is produce direction on your life? The renewing of your mind. Then you will able to test and approve what God's will is KJVRomans12;1-2 1. "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." The renewing comes by the reading Bible and praying.

How does some one discover his call?

What gift has the Holy Spirit given you? What is your passion for the Lord?

The Lord will led you to what He has called you to if you follow His lead. Do not fall for the worldly way to get a head in the ministry you have to remember Mark 10:42-45
“And Jesus called them to him and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.43 But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,[SUB]44 [/SUB]and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all.45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

If you have to be a yes man to get into a ministry in a Church, I would not do it and I haven't. The Lord will make a way for the gift He has given you. I felt like He gave me a gift to teach because of my love for reading the Bible and knowing more about the Lord through reading the Bible, but I would not be a yes man or kiss butt. The Lord opened the door top teach ing the prisons and I love it, I have meet some awesome brothers. I meet some brothers that were learning to read Greek and two of the borthers were teaching the class on New Testament Greek, it was awesome.

Look to the Lord to make a place for your gift, do not depend on man to make a place for your gift. There are men out there that have confidence in their gifts that they can let someone use their gift under the ministry they have. Here is one thing to look out for, when a man starts saying that this is my church or these are my people, be careful because it is the Lord's Church men are under
shepherds of the fellowship that they lead. Let the Lord lead you and He will make a place for you to exercise your gift that He gave you.
