"10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matt 5:10-12 ESV

So, you post heretic after heretic, and somehow that makes you feel persecuted? I've got news for you! Go to the Middle East, or North Korea and find out what the word "persecution" means.

No one is against you coming here and posting the Bible instead of your "opinions." Support what you believe with the Bible, not some totally apostate hypergrace losers.

We may disagree when you post the Bible, but certainly I will respect you for knowing what you believe, like I do with many others in this forum.

But, keep supporting your nonsense, with more nonsense, people who rave on and on, with not even a Bible address, let alone a verse on occasion, then this forum can and will stand up to you.

Word Faith and hypergrace are lies from the devil. I have read enough from the writings of the people who have crafted this sly and evil doctrine, to know it is anti-God and anti-Biblical.

I am certain if you actually read the Bible from cover to cover a few times, you might see a pattern that is different than what these deceivers are telling you. That God is sovereign, that we live in a fallen world, that healing is not in the atonement and God cares more about us, than these fragile mortal bodies.

Your Catholic background shows so strongly! You want the Word of God mediated through a priest, or a hypergrace teacher. You have been taught not to read and study the Bible on your own. You are the one who needs to break with these "traditions of men" and break out and come to God on your own, without a cult leader between you and God!

Any "Pastor" who says Mormons are Christians, as Joel Osteen has, cannot be trusted and should be rebuked.

The pattern is that his haters are always hating on the guy. Lakewood was in no condition to take in storm victims until the water receded enough for their staff members to get there. If you know anything about Lakewood (which I highly doubt based on the ignorance you've shown so far) you know that they have a reputation for helping out in times of disaster, going back forty years when they became a megachurch. They took in victims of Tropical Storm Allison in 2001, and Joel took the lead in relocating victims of Katrina even though it didn't hit his city. Houston got three feet of rain in three days, and the main road leading to Lakewood (HWY 59) was under water for a couple of days.

How stupid do you have to be to think that Lakewood was unaffected and Joel was just being a jerk in not taking in storm victims? As soon as it was safe to open the church, they did what the city requested and functioned as a distribution center. Why don't you try objectivity and critical thinking instead of just parroting the ignorant hate rap that your ilk have been spouting?

Yeah its just me  He made the mistake of saying what he did on TV too. Then when pressure came down, he issued an apology.

whatever man..

I've seen this sort of mis representation of the truth so many places on this planet especially since the internet that it's wise to never believe main stream media about much of anything. And most especially when it reports on us Christians. If they hated Jesus and told lies about Him., shouldn't we expect it will be done to us especially since we have been told so in the Bible. Matt.5:10-12

[SUP]10 [/SUP]Blessed and happy and [SUP][a][/SUP]enviably fortunate and [SUP][b][/SUP]spiritually prosperous [SUP][c][/SUP](in the state in which the born-again child of God enjoys and finds satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of his outward conditions) are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake (for being and doing right), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!
[SUP]
11 [/SUP]Blessed (happy, [SUP][d][/SUP]to be envied, and [SUP][e][/SUP]spiritually prosperous—[SUP][f][/SUP]with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of your outward conditions) are you when people revile you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things against you falsely on My account.
[SUP]
12 [/SUP]Be glad and supremely joyful, for your reward in heaven is great (strong and intense), for in this same way people persecuted the prophets who were before you.

John 15:20
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Remember that I told you, A servant is not greater than his master [is not superior to him]. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word and obeyed My teachings, they will also keep and obey yours.

Gossip is something the world does because it can't help it. Unsaved people have no choice but to say and believe what is fed to them. But we who have Jesus are called to something higher than that.

So earlier yesterday you were saying you were not promoting this guy, And now because one person made some excuses for him, Your going to change your tune and attack the rest of us. And now sticking up for this guy (proving thats what you were really trying to do to begin with)

I do not know what happened to you. But I am saddened..

Like Rod Parsley at world harvest church in columbus, they have a congregation in ther thousands, and followers all over the world. Who will stick up for them at all costs.

It is sad what people will fall for. Then make excuses for..

You of all should know what it means to be mispresented.

Joanie is asking to review a video, then give an opinion on it. What has happened to "just the facts please?". She's making a point that we need to know what is truth before giving an opinion. For if you do this, without searching to see if something is true or not, then it's just gossip. Depending on what you hear only.

Ive been a victim of this. Even after one who viciously attacked repented and asked me to forgive, the gossip rages on as if it's truth.

? What is wrong with Christians that love gossip as if they are yet heathens?

Not agreeing with the people on this thread doesn't count as not agreeing with the whole of Christendom. :) This group of maybe 10 or so Christians on this thread are not my standard of truth. The Bible is and the Holy Spirit as He ministers.

I am not alone in my beliefs in healing in the atonement nor about many other topics I've shared from other Christians who have been dismissed as quickly as I have. Just a matter of being basically out numbered in this forum. Which is not odd.

Maybe some of you guys need to get out of the house more and visit other Christians who are not exactly the same as you are. We are out there all over the place and some of us are trying to fellowship with you and share with you. But you keep shutting the door.
Exactly ten, at this moment. And TEN is an impressive amount considering how many people refuse to go through yet-another Olsteen-pitch. And TEN is an amazing amount since the vast majority of people on this site do usually ignore your pamphleting-for-heretics tactics.

And, yes, I get it, you're not alone in your beliefs. Neither are those who think just the right crystal will set their lives in order. Neither are the people who think chanting "No more guns" today, without having a clue what they expect lawmakers to do about it. And neither are the ones who think Elvis is still alive. For that matter, neither are the ones still promoting flat earth/no one went to the moon/the Trade Centers falling was a hoax. Numbers really don't matter, whether your telling the truth or lies.

HOWEVER, you are NOT standing up for the Bible or God. Definitely not the Bible, since you won't read it. Definitely not God because you rather buy the hoax.

You cannot fellowship with Christians as a Christian when you aren't a Christian. Sort of like me trying to fellowship in the rodeo circuit because I rode a horse twice. (Both times unsuccessfully. lol) I'm not a cowboy!

But I truly agree with you that you are "[FONT=&quot]out there all over the place[/FONT]" (including on this thread.) What you keep missing is we keep inviting you. Probably because that doesn't fit your "persecuted victimhood." And ignore everyone but yourself.

What reason would you have to ask about reviewing a book unless you are promoting that book?

She could have picked another author out. And probably not have this response.

Only Joanie can answer that question which kind of proves her point of the thread. You have made a decision of her intent as to why she created this thread without asking her that question.

Thats what the intent of this thread is because I read her words and understand what she said. So am basing my post on truth. Not my own bias.

Christians here will post Larry King over and over and the news commentators over and over but won't hear from another brother in Christ about a book review?
You know neither Olsteen or this guy are brothers. You're just proselytizing a different god again.

Re posting for clarification. Listen to the review and then give your views on what was said. Thank you.
Why do you want anyone to do that? If we disagree with him, (which we will and have), you'll just go back to whoa-is-me and defending yourself. If someone did agree, you'll pat him/her on the back because you found someone who agrees with you. It's not like you really want to discuss it. You want to deliver it and are upset we're not taking the offering.

"I don't eat thornapples" ought to be enough reason to figure out why no one is feasting with you.

Sometimes yes Depleted. Sometimes it can be as simple as that to begin to learn how to hear a person out who you would not give the time of day to otherwise.

Jesus gave each of us the time of day when we (for sure) didn't deserve it or merit it. While we were yet sinners., Christ died for us.. Romans 5:8 WOW!

This is a book review done by a Christian man on line named Ron Saunders from "Jew and Greek" who brings truth to light about controversial Christians and what they actually do hold to vs what they have been accused of holding to . Ron Saunders does his due diligence to show the truth apart from prejudice and I really appreciate that.

I've shared many of my views and most of my threads get taken over by the same people who do not believe in healing in the atonement. I never realized how other Christians could disassemble another Christian and then put them back together so wrongly and present it as the truth.

This review is about Joel Osteen's book "Your Best Life Now" I was very surprised about it's contents since I've never read the book and figured it was more of a motivational book. Which it is but it also has Biblical principals. I was also very happy to find out about Joel's father John Osteen. Amazing man of God. I hope you who came to this new thread will give Ron Saunders book review a listen. It gave me a new perspective on Joel O. and a great appreciation for His dad.

Will repost the OP #1 so as the topic isn't missed by all the rabbit trails. Blessings.

This is not a thread on Joel O. This is a thread to show how we as Christians cannot even hear a book review for it's own merits because we are so prejudice about what we think we already know. EG., you can't even bring yourself to listen less than 10 min. to a guy who is not a follower of Joel O. no more than I am but he doesn't condemn the man either.

He is trying to get Christians to learn to hear people out before judging them according to what the world has said about them. Think for yourself EG... I agree with him because I heard what he had to say so I can say I agree or I disagree. I'm sorry you feel that way you do EG. But I'll say again., until you listen to the review., you have not basis for which to comment on it.

Been very clear from post #1 what this thread is all about. Any questions or doubts? read my posts... not those who posted about my posts. :) I have not moved one inch from the intention of this thread.

The guy says Joel Osteen is weak in Apologetics and theology, which I agree with him about. However he doesn't see WOF movement as heresy. In fact he seems to be a component of it.

I find it kind of funny that the guy actually says he WOULD NOT BUYTHE BOOK, except to review it.

So I apologize, the video is NOT a sales promotion, BUT it is not an unbiased reviewer either.
Actually, it is a sales promotion. It's used all the time for selling books. Authors and "experts" are given free books to read and review honestly. And, if they're "experts" just reviewing the book it's wonderful, because give a person 100-200 words written (or spoken), and you can cut to the ones that make it sound like an endorsement. If they hated it? Well, you know, "Even bad press sells."

After all, look how well it's being promoted here.

So, I listened to the review - The book is to help us find "success, fulfillment, and healing." Kenneth Hagin is mentioned in a positive light. The seven steps to living your full potential given in the book are:
(1) Enlarge your vision
(2) Develop a healthy Self-image
(3) Discover the Power of your Thoughts, and Words
(4) Let Go of the Past
(5) Find Strength through Adversity
(6) Live to Give
(7) Choose to be Happy

Of course each one can be construed to be "Christian" and wonderful. But if I really want to live to my full potential, are these the seven best ways to get there? You be the judge!

Thank you for Chester for listening to some of the OP #1 video. If you listened to the rest., you can hear why today is the day to make a choice. We have a choice how we are going to believe on this day TODAY. We can't say for sure if we will be here tomorrow.

We can believe God today and walk out the truth today. We don't have to nor can we wait until we get to heaven to walk in faith. We won't NEED to walk in faith when we get to heaven. We will see Him face to face with no earth suit that needs faith to see. The choice on how to walk is TODAY.

We need to walk by faith to obtain the promises while we are here on earth. "We won't need faith in the sweet bye and bye but we NEED to walk in faith in the sour here and now" We are called to walk in the Spirit so we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
And those lusts are not so much to do with adultery or the other obvious blatant sins of the flesh most people think about when the word "lust" is used.... they have to do more with unbelief in Jesus and what He did for us and in the goodness and graciousness of God in Christ.

This is why we as followers of Christ must teach God's prescribe order of victory (Romans 8:2) with kindness and graciousness so we (Christians) don't enter into the sin of sectarianism; believing that if you are not associated with me, you are not saved, or else, at the best, a second-class Christian, as if there were such a thing (Luke 9:49-50). No effort is to be made to hinder anyone from attempting to do the Work of God even if they disagree.

Luke 9:49-50 King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]49 [/SUP]And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.[SUP]50 [/SUP]And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

I'm sorry this was missed. I agree Message..., And can see the Lord's wisdom as to why He put this in the Bible.
