This is a book review done by a Christian man on line named Ron Saunders from "Jew and Greek" who brings truth to light about controversial Christians and what they actually do hold to vs what they have been accused of holding to . Ron Saunders does his due diligence to show the truth apart from prejudice and I really appreciate that.

I've shared many of my views and most of my threads get taken over by the same people who do not believe in healing in the atonement. I never realized how other Christians could disassemble another Christian and then put them back together so wrongly and present it as the truth.

This review is about Joel Osteen's book "Your Best Life Now" I was very surprised about it's contents since I've never read the book and figured it was more of a motivational book. Which it is but it also has Biblical principals. I was also very happy to find out about Joel's father John Osteen. Amazing man of God. I hope you who came to this new thread will give Ron Saunders book review a listen. It gave me a new perspective on Joel O. and a great appreciation for His dad.

How can you comment unless you hear the man out Depleted? Because whatever you say is only prejudicial until you do.

What is so Christian about Joel when he won't admit homos and mormons are wrong?

What is so Christian about living in a 11 million dollar house?

What is so Christian about no preaching the truth of the gospel and the perils of sin?

Jesus chased people with a whip and flipped over tables..... and he is the perfect Son of God, he also preached against heresy, and sin.

I dont think Joel can be called a Christian, there is the folly in your argument.

Joel Osteen lost his way, He has been given christ a bad name for years now. How you could even prop anything from him up is disturbing sis.

Wither you believe in gifts or not. There are just some people you need to stay away from. And he is one of them.

Hi Seeds., Did you listen to the book review? Unless you do., you can't comment with any knowledge of the topic. It takes hearing people to know what they really believe and what they really are writing in a book.

Joel Osteen:

'Hi there. Let me introduce you to Jesus'

Person he is talking to:

'Oh..do you know Him?'

Joel Osteen:

'Well no I don't...flashes huge toothy grin (hopefully person is wearing sunglasses)

but I have heard about Him.......'

Its just more proselytizing...she can't have a discussion. She can't. All she can do is hand out more pamphlets. I guess they'll do something about it eventually. They always seem to...

Until Christians can hear one another out before drawing any conclusion... they are no different than those in politics. And that is my hard learned opinion. If you don't like the topic and disagree with it before you have even heard what it's about., please feel free to avoid the thread. This is a free country.

All I have to do is look at his life sis. I do not need to read a review. A review is a persons opinion. You can find good reviews and bad reviews an almost anything.

If you can look at his life and say he is a person which represents God by his lifestyle and what he does. Then I am worried about you.

You need to find better people to read. Even if you agree with his words.. He is not a person who I would want to be associated with. Thus whatever he said that may even be good. Is destroyed by his lifestyle. He has not worked out his salvation with fear and trembling, thus he has not become blameless and harmless, in fact, he has a lot of blame to answer to. And he has done much harm .

The book could be the greatest book ever written (it is not, The Bible is) but if the author is tainted, and the author is polluted, you do not support the author by supporting his book.

John tells us in his second epistle that if we meet up with certain people, we should not invite them into our homes.

I see a pattern here. God's love and grace is poured out in all of us. And on these forums we have opportunity to be salt and light and show people how to respond to life and how we walk our Christian walk. A person came on this site the other day but was scared off by all the anger and hostility. I can honestly say it didn't come from me. I simply have a different interpretation of the book of Job and of Joel O.than some of those who came to my thread here.
Unless we come together and listen and "reason" there is no discussion.

there is no reason to be supporting a book by a man of the likes of Joel Olsen. He gave up that right when he lost his way and started taking advantage of people. And taking Gods money and using it on himself. And all the other stuff he has done to give God a bad name

He is no better than the leader of world harvest church. Or any other person who uses God to gain personal wealth.

We can discuss truth and ideas, And we should be open. But supporting a man like that, Thats where I draw the line, and pray you learn to do yourself.

This is not a thread on Joel O. This is a thread to show how we as Christians cannot even hear a book review for it's own merits because we are so prejudice about what we think we already know. EG., you can't even bring yourself to listen less than 10 min. to a guy who is not a follower of Joel O. no more than I am but he doesn't condemn the man either.

He is trying to get Christians to learn to hear people out before judging them according to what the world has said about them. Think for yourself EG... I agree with him because I heard what he had to say so I can say I agree or I disagree. I'm sorry you feel that way you do EG. But I'll say again., until you listen to the review., you have not basis for which to comment on it.

Joanie, I have to say, I find your views a little schizophrenic.

For example, I'm pretty sure you believe Revelation, and end Times doctrine that is pretty close to mine.

And although it CANNOT be said often enough that GOD is the one in control, Adam ceded the title deed to the Earth to satan when he sinned and fell.

We know satan has the title deed for several reasons. 1. Satan tempted Jesus with the title deed WITHOUT GOING TO THE CROSS. If satan didn't have the deed then his temptation would NOT have been a temptation at all. It would be like me 'tempting" you by offering to give you ownership of Manhattan Island for a buck. You wouldn't be tempted at all.

Well AFTER Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension John was caught up to Heaven and wept convulsively because no one could open the Title deed.

Now I know we have people here that believe the Title deed has ALREADY been opened by Jesus. And some of those people think WE need to make the world better and better and THEN Jesus will return. I'm pretty sure you don't believe that.

But I'm confused as to why, since I think you believe satan still has the deed, you ALSO believe we won't be persecuted by him in MANY diverse ways? Especially since Jesus TOLD us we would be persecuted.

Now I believe we are, but that God will use the afflictions and persecutions for His Glory and our ultimate good.

Do I have your Eschatology right in that regard, and if so, how do you square the 2 positions you hold?

This is not the greatest book ever written nor is it one I'd buy BUT it's good for what it was written for and it's also good for this thread because it gives an opportunity for Christians who think themselves to be wise to see if they really are wise enough to hear a matter out before commenting about it.

Hi PennEd.... That's a great topic but it's for the other thread "some common misconceptions about God." Let's keep one topic going at a time. I'd be happy to answer it on the other thread. Not a good multi task person.

I can hear a review on any book.

But I refuse to hear or even read a review on a man who misrepresents God. Like I said, You need to find a better book by a more reputable author.

The backlash you are seeking has nothing to do with a review, or a book, it has to do with the author.
