YOU ARE PERFECT IN GOD’S EYES[/h][HR][/HR]
God sees you with no flaw, spot or imperfection, so honor His Word and the finished work of His Son by saying, “Amen!” Don’t doubt your perfection in Christ.

To see yourself as being far from perfect is not modesty, but a failure to understand the perfect sacrifice that Jesus has made for you.

The Bible tells us, “For by one offering He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified”. Did you get that? You have not only been sanctified, that is, made holy, but by the same offering of His body, you have been perfected. You are both holy and perfect in God’s eyes!

Your sins have been purged perfectly. Today, Jesus is seated at His Father’s right hand not because He is the Son of God (although that is true), but because His work of purging your sins is completely finished and perfect!

So instead of being conscious of your sins, which is to have an evil conscience (Hebrews 10:22), you can have a perfect conscience, a conscience that is free from the guilt and condemnation of sins.

When you find yourself conscious of your sins, just say, “Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your wonderful work at the cross. It is a perfect work that has removed all my sins completely.

“Holy Spirit, thank You for convicting me of righteousness, not my own, but God’s righteousness given to me as a gift. Keep on convicting me in the days to come, reminding me especially when I fail that I am still the righteousness of God in Christ.”

My friend, God sees you perfect without any spot of sin. He sees you covered in the beautiful white robes of His own righteousness. He treats you as a righteous man because that is what He has made you. So expect good things to happen to you because blessings are on the head of the righteous! (Proverbs 10:6)

So thankful for the truth of God's Word that sets us free from our old manner of living. I'm also thankful for pastors., preachers and teachers who God uses in the body of Christ all over the world. Sorry to hear about Billy Graham but he is with Jesus now and dancing and reunited with many of his loved ones who went on before him.
Praise the LORD!

True, but we aren't perfect in actual obedience yet. What we have right now is a legal declaration of perfection, meaning we are blameless and have no guilt and debt of sin outstanding on our heavenly account.

We couldn't pay the just penalty we owe for our trespasses, so God wiped away and forgave the debt of our trespasses, legally declaring us to now be out of debt (He himself having paid the debt we owe). In time we will have bodies to match the legal declaration of perfection that we have received.

"we through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness."-Galatians 5:5

One day, we will have lives that are as righteous as the declaration of righteousness we now have. We wait for it patiently. That is the hope for which we live.

that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified

We are not perfected by our behavior or obedience., we are perfected by and IN Christ. That is the perspective we are called to have. Hebrews 10:14
[SUP]14 [/SUP]For by a single offering He has forever completely cleansed and perfected those who are consecrated and made holy.

1 John 4:12-13 [SUP]12 [/SUP]No man hath beheld God at any time: if we love one another, God abideth in us, and his love is perfected in us: [SUP]13 [/SUP]hereby we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

2 Peter 1:2- 4[SUP]2 [/SUP]Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; [SUP]3 [/SUP]seeing that his divine power hath granted unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that called us [SUP][a][/SUP]by his own glory and virtue; [SUP]4 [/SUP]whereby he hath granted unto us his precious and exceeding great promises; that through these ye may become partakers of [SUP][b][/SUP]the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.

AMEN.

That verse only applies to those who are sanctified (presently speaking). Sanctified means set apart, separated from the world and made Holy. But there are those who lose this sanctification by going back to the world to wallow in the mud, and are no longer made clean. You need to consider all scriptures. “Present you perfect in Christ without spot or blemish IF you continue in your faith established and firm.” “But if you sin willfully there no longer remains a sacrifice for your sins.”

So, be grateful for Christ’s sacrifice? Indeed! But do not relax and give up effort- because once in Christ you have to stay in Christ by taking up your cross and dying to sin daily (not once).

It applies to ALL who HAVE Christ., because if we HAVE Christ we HAVE eternal life and have "passed from death unto life". We HAVE already been set apart... We have already been made whole., Jesus is our righteousness., holiness and sanctification 1 Cor.1:30

[SUP]30 [/SUP]But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin].[SUP]
31 [/SUP]So then, as it is written, Let him who boasts and proudly rejoices and glories, boast and proudly rejoice and glory in the Lord.

John 3:36 He who has the Son has life.... he who has not the Son of God has not life..but the wrath of God abides
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now possesses) eternal life. But whoever disobeys (is unbelieving toward, refuses to trust in, disregards, is not subject to) the Son will never see (experience) life, but [instead] the wrath of God abides on him. Hebrews 10:22 [SUP]22 [/SUP]Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by [SUP][a][/SUP]that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.

We Christians need to know that we HAVE BEEN CLEANSED and now we are called to walk out the truth of that each day in our lives BY FAITH. We have already been given the gift of His righteousness. Now we walk out who we are NOW in Christ. We do not walk out who we WERE. Jesus made us new creations... the old is past away... the new has come.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me… (Gal 2:20a)

The reason most Christians struggle to live the Christian life is they do not know they have died with Christ. Yet Paul says so again and again. To the Christians in Colossae; “You died with Christ” (Col 2:20). To the believers in Rome: “We died with Christ” (Rom 6:8). To the Corinthians: “We died” (2 Cor 5:14).

When you were baptized or placed into Christ, you were baptized into his death (Rom 6:3). This may be the single most important thing that ever happened to you, yet many Christians are unaware of it. And since they don’t know that they died, they are constantly trying to die.

The gospel declares, “You died.” You have been crucified with Christ. The person you used to be – dead in sins and alienated from the life of God – no longer lives, but Christ lives in you.

if you have been born of the spirit, learn to walk by the spirit. We don’t die daily – once will do the trick – and we don’t get born again every day. But every day we make this choice: Will I walk after the flesh or after the spirit?

“Die to self” means “Trust Jesus instead of self.” It means live each and every day out of the relationship you have with the Lord. It means, don’t fall back to the inferior ways of the flesh that you walked in when you were a sinner or religious, but stand firm in the freedom of Christ.

I agree it is to all who HAVE Christ, my point was that not all who HAD Christ still do, because they used His blood as a license to sin and therefore it was taken away from them. We not only need to get baptized into Christ, we need to stay in Christ- was the point that I was making.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

"Even as" is a direct comparison.

So How was Jesus righteous?

I would challenge you joaniemarie to post only words you yourself have written or Bible verses until Easter.

The cut and pastes of others words just cause strife and yet you persist.

Are you not able to summarize what you yourself glean from the people you read and post your own words?

Your devotional posts half the truth and without the other half it makes it a lie.

Martin Luther spoke of two types of righteousness: the alien righteousness we gain through Christ (which is mentioned in your first post) and a personal righteousness that we gain by walking with the Holy Spirit.

What you post is missing is a call for personal accountability and striving to do the good works God created us to do....we strive not because we seek to earn God's approval but because we know His love and want to share it with others He has caused our heart to love.

So yes we do need to know and value what Jesus did for us, but we also need to love enough to live holy lives and share the Gospel with others.

So How was Jesus righteous?
Jesus was sinless, without fault or defect, flawless, absolutely perfect 100% of the time. Jesus IS GOD. Does that describe us? NO (Romans 3:23; 6:23). 1 John 3:7 - Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness (descriptive of believers) is righteous, just as He is righteous. Believers practice righteousness BECAUSE they already are righteous IN CHRIST and not to become righteous. How are believers accounted as righteous?

Romans 4:5 - But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works.

Philippians 3:9 - and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.

That's not accurate. Notice how the NIV states the last phrase:

For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

God does not make us righteous any more than God made Jesus a sinner. This means that we don't need anymore sacrifices.

BTW, to any new folks on this site. This is what Joan does -- tosses away pamphlets of heretics on here and pretends it's the gospel. (And then gets SELF-righteous at anyone who disagrees with her and the heretics.)

grace without understanding how much Jesus paid for us to receive it, is like sugar coating sin

Quotes from “Destined to Reign”
Quote #1:
“I distinctly heard the voice of the Lord on the inside. It wasn’t a witness of the Spirit. It was a voice, and I heard God say this clearly to me: ‘Son, you are not preaching grace.’ I said, ‘What do you mean, Lord?...’Every time you preach grace, you preach it with a mixture of law. You attempt to balance grace with the law like many other preachers, and the moment you balance grace, you neutralize it. You cannot put new wine into old wineskins. You cannot put grace and law together. He went on to say, ‘Son, a lot of preachers are not preaching grace the way Apostle Paul preached grace.”
Excerpt from the Foreword, page vii
NOTE: Paul taught grace and law side-by-side throughout Romans chapters 5-6 for the express purpose of preventing doctrinal confusion. In fact, the book of Romans uses the word “law” 78 times while only using the word “grace” 24 times. Hence, teaching the law is often necessary as a basis before one can even begin to teach grace! The heart must be convicted and humbled with the law before grace can be received.
The word “law” is referred to in Paul’s epistles 148 times in 108 verses; the word “grace” was used in Paul’s epistles 99 times in 92 verses. Thus demonstrating that his “grace preaching” was a doctrinal balance of both law & grace.
It is true that the apostle Paul had more to say on the subject of grace than any other New Testament writer. It even states in Acts 20:24 that testifying to the gospel of grace was the purpose of his life and ministry; however, he, and other New Testament writers, went to great length to keep the grace doctrine from being twisted and perverted as we must do as well.
(See Jude 4, Romans 5:20-6:2; Romans 6:14-16; II Corinthians 6:1; Galatians 1:6-10; Hebrews 10:29-31; II Peter 3:15-18)
Here is a side-by-side comparison of “grace teaching” versus “law teaching” throughout the Bible:
Usage of words in whole Bible (KJV):
The Bible addresses the law approximately three times as much as it addresses grace!
The word “law”: used 523 times in 459 verses
The word “grace”: used 170 times in 159 verses
Conclusion: The Bible as a whole has FAR MORE to say concerning the law than concerning grace.

Usage of words in the New Testament alone (KJV):
The New Testament addresses the law nearly twice as often as it addresses grace!
The word “law”: used 223 times in 172 verses
The word “grace:” used 131 times in 122 verses
Conclusion: While the New Testament has more to say on the subject of grace than the Old Testament, the New Testament STILL has FAR MORE to say concerning the law than concerning grace.

I agree. This "completeness" means we're spiritually ready for Heaven, not complete as in spiritually mature.
